80% of Republicans and half of Independents are not believers in Mueller - per Left leaning polling.

Two-thirds of Republicans and a third of independents think special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation should be shut down, according to a new poll.

In addition, an overwhelming amount of Republicans polled–80 percent–agree with President Trump that it is a “witch hunt.”

The poll, reported by Axios, was conducted by Public Policy Polling between August 27-28, 2018, with a margin of error of +/4.1%.

The actual reason CNN refuses to "admit the error of its ways."

Its really not complicated.  Its called "saving face."  Its what you do when you lie a lot.

Joe Concha, a favorite journalist, unviels the hypocricy of those, now, praising McCain

The Hill:   Here's a flashback, courtesy of Pew Research, from the final weeks of the 2008 campaign in terms of the kind of media coverage the Republican presidential nominee received in his race against then-Sen. Barack Obama. Just 14 percent of coverage of McCain was positive from the Republican National Convention that ended on Sept. 4 through the final presidential debate on Oct. 15; 57 percent was negative. Translation: McCain's coverage was negative over positive by a 4-to-1 ratio.

Trump neither raised the flags nor was untimely in giving honor to a petulent John McCain

The Hill:   Trump also sought out controversy this past week by refusing to issue a statement following the death of McCain, one of his most vocal critics and political foes. The flags at the White House were also raised from half-staff less than 48 hours after the senator’s death.

Editor:  Turns out McCain was the bigger jerk,  banning dozens of folks from his funeral,  including loyal staffers and his 2008 running mate, Sarah Palin,  for various reasons, some of which are not apparent,  to this day.  Trump's wonderful statement honoring the undersving McCain,  given in person at the Evangelical Summit,  and his order that all federal buildings set their flags at half mast,  were acts to be praised,  not ignored.  He was not the one who brought the flags back to full mast.  His order to set all flags at half mast,  was his response to whoever raised those flags.

The Trump Administration has heard enough complants. It is about to decide to "go after Google."

SAN FRANCISCO/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch on Thursday asked the Federal Trade Commission to rekindle an antitrust investigation of Alphabet Inc’s Google, and President Donald Trump vowed to fight what he called political censorship by social media companies.

While Google is busy denying bias versus conservative blog,  this very blog is proof of that bias.  Google has cut my traffic to the blog by 90% .  The blog has no visibility on the Net;  used to have 5 pages of articles linked,  now that number is zero.

Wa/Post reports increases in passport denials under Trump. Actually, the opposite is true.

The Post’s piece claimed that “The Trump administration is accusing hundreds, and possibly thousands of Hispanics along the border of using fraudulent birth certificates since they were babies, and it is undertaking a widespread crackdown.”
However, that is not true according to the State Department. In fact, the number of domestic passport denials at the southern border are at a six-year low and the number of midwife cases has gone down under the current administration.

Jobless Claims Lower than Expected, Four Week Average Hits Lowest Level Since 1969

Jo0bless claims are an indication of layoffs and have been closely watched this year for signs that trade disputes might weigh on the U.S. labor market. So far, there are no signs that tariffs have cost the U.S. economy any jobs.

Larry Sabato (Crystal Ball) gives the GOP an even chance of holding on to both houses of Congress. Time will tell.

The economy is good and we’re not in the midst of an unpopular foreign war, two sometimes-predictors of poor midterm performance for the White House party. The map benefits Republicans in both the battle for the House and the Senate: The median House seat by presidential performance (NE-2) voted for President Donald Trump by two percentage points, while Hillary Clinton won the national popular vote by two, making the median House seat about four points to the right of the nation, which is a good shorthand for the generic GOP edge in the House. In the Senate, Democrats are defending 26 of the 35 seats being contested, one of the worst maps any party has had to defend in a midterm.

US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.
Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.

No more stealing union dues from healthcare providers. Who ever thought that was a good idea?

A Washington union agreed to stop skimming dues out of the paychecks of home health care workers caring for patients with Medicaid, according to the Freedom Foundation.

The free market think tank Freedom Foundation filed a federal class-action lawsuit against Washington state and local 775 of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in July. The lawsuit stemmed from the state taking union due payments out of Medicaid payments to the home health care workers on behalf of their clients.

McCain disinvited Trump, the family, and Sarah Palin! How much of a jerk was this great military hero? And who, exactly is acting childish!

The Hill :   Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has reportedly not been invited to attend funeral services for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), her onetime running mate.
NBC News reported Wednesday that Palin had not been invited. A source within the Palin family told NBC News that “out of respect to Senator McCain and his family we have nothing to add at this point.”
Frankly,  I am glad he is gone and not soon enough.  If he wants to act disrepectful,  especially to a loyal Sarah Palin,  well,  I have no regard for his smallness.

McCain's 106 y.o. mother will attend his funeral.

WASHINGTON (AP) — John McCain's rebellious streak didn't come out of nowhere. His mother, Roberta, had a habit of speeding behind the wheel and racking up tickets. When told during a trip to Europe that she was too old to rent a car, she went out and bought a Peugeot. Her son once answered the telephone to hear his mother say she was on a cross-country driving trip — by herself, in her 90s.
Now 106, the wife and mother of Navy admirals lived a life of full of travel and adventure, punctuated by her sass and determination.

The number of judges to be approved has moved from 11 to 12 and, now, 15, because the Dems want to go home to campaign.

WASHINGTON ― Senate Democrats just gave a huge gift to President Donald Trump: They agreed to expedite votes on 15 of his nominees to lifetime federal court seats because they wanted to go home.
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) had lined up votes for all those district court nominees last week. Normally, Senate rules require up to 30 hours of waiting time for each nominee ― something Democrats typically take advantage of to delay action on confirming Trump judges. But Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) cut a deal with McConnell on Tuesday to bypass the wait times and let them all get through.
Why? So Democrats could get back to campaigning and focusing on winning re-election in November. The Senate is now out of session until next Tuesday   . . . .

A growing number of Libs now admit to the lifely fact that Trump will survive his first term:

. . . .    voluntarily giving up the powers and immunities of the presidency makes no sense for someone in Trump’s position. As president, he is protected from federal indictment (under current Justice Department interpretations) and likely from state prosecution as well (though that issue has never been tested in court), and he has a wide range of options for his political defense that he has yet to exploit to the fullest. Not only can he reward those who stick with him and try to punish those who don’t; he can also use the presidency to shape events internationally and at home in the hope of rallying support and making it difficult to remove him from office. I wouldn’t underestimate the lengths to which he could go to stay in power  (Paul Starr at American Prospect, a Left leaning propaganda site).

Trump is favored for finishing his first term and beating "impeachment" efforts . . . so say "liberals in the know."

Liberals in the know,  are now admitting that last week's news  (versus Coehn and Manafort) will not bring the President down.  As the overheated reactions to the Manafort and Cohen convictions fade, the cold political realities again confront us. Even if Robert Mueller’s investigation results in a public report (which is by no means a sure thing) and that report presents evidence to Congress that Trump obstructed justice and is guilty of other crimes, the odds still favor his finishing out his four-year term. Trump’s every instinct will be to fight impeachment, and he has every reason to believe that he will prevail.

McConnell earns his stripes today, orchestrating his most important challenge to date.

Republicans, led by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, have also spent years blocking the confirmations of lower-level judges, leaving more unfilled judgeships in the last Congress than any time since 1952—and a huge opportunity for President Trump  . . .

Trump has appointed more federal appeals court judges than former Presidents Obama and Bush had at the same point in their administrations combined  . . . .

Trump’s total number of confirmed district court judges to 33  . . . .  after the 11 confirmed judges on are finalized at 3:45 this afteroon.

McConnell made it clear that the Senate would stay in session until 12 judges had been confirmed  . . . .  and it appears that this is exactly what is about to happen.

A Dossier Debunking

His lawyer says the Steele claims about Michael Cohen are false.

Aug. 27, 2018 7:37 p.m. ET  The Wall Street Journal
Michael Cohen’s accusations have replaced Russian collusion as Washington’s reason-du-jour to impeach Donald Trump, which may explain why few are reporting that Mr. Cohen has cast further doubt on what was supposedly a key piece of collusion evidence.
Mr. Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, confirmed last week that Cohen has never been to Prague in the Czech Republic. This is one of the main claims in the Steele dossier that was commissioned by oppo-research firm Fusion GPS, paid for by the Clinton campaign and used by the FBI in...

The Democrat Party forever changed in 1968.

The National Review has an excellent article dealing with the "day the Democrat Party died   ~   editor.
<<<  Hubert Humphrey was the Dem candidate

Chicago,  1968   :    The riots that night set a political pattern that Democrats are still following today.  Fifty years ago tonight, a great American political party was murdered by its own children and closest friends.
The party in question was the Democratic party of Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and JFK, which perished during the riots in Grant Park, Chicago, on the night of Aug. 28, 1968, in the midst of the party’s national convention.
Its children in this case were the rioters from the anti–Vietnam War Left. After killing off the traditional liberal Democratic party they despised, they would go on to take over the corpse and make it the host of America’s radical Left, from Jerry Brown to Bernie Sanders — with George McGovern, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama as their front men   . . . . .

Trump is hearing from hundreds of folks, and he is listening.

Google, Twitter and Facebook contol most Internet speech.  You play by their rules or you are no long allowed to "play."  Don't agree?  OK.  And, now,  you know longer have a voice.

Treat these three owners and their bias like the enimies of free
speech that they are.  Regulation is the only alternative.  Six weeks ago,  I would have never advocated for Net regulation.  But they have me and millions of like minded folks, pushed to the back of the bus.

Yes ! This conservative is for Federal regulation and here is why:

Google has changed its algorithm coding.  The affect is to render most small conservative blogs "invisible."  Understand that until four weeks ago,  my blog traffic was around 1000 pageviews, daily.  Not great by some standards,  but this blog was the largest non-comercial blog on the Net.  Now,  my traffic has been cut by 90% and I have no visibility on the Net.  Upi cannot search for this blog.  And there is nothing I can do about it.  So,  I say,  "Via la Federal regulations."  Treat the Net as an utility.  Today you have very few options for protecting your speech on Twitter,  Google, Facebook,  after all,  they are privately owned.  Make them an utility,  and Federal regulation will allow 1st amendment protections.  Three or four people control most written Internet speech.  Not fair.  I hate regulations,  but in this case,  it is needed.  After all,  radio waves should belong to all.

If we don't stick together, we all fail. The Daily Caller helped force Twitter to repent versus the NRA and Dana Loesch.

Twitter reversed course Monday and suspended a Twitter account that said National Rifle Association (NRA) spokeswoman Dana Loesch “has to have her children murdered.”
“The only way these people learn is if it affects them directly,” Twitter user Milan Legius wrote in a reply to Loesch on Sunday. “So if Dana Loesch has to have her children murdered before she’ll understand, I guess that’s what needs to happen.”
Twitter initially ruled on Sunday that after “carefully” reviewing the reported tweet, that it had “no violation of the Twitter Rules against abusive behavior.”
Following news coverage from media outlets including The Daily Caller News Foundation, Twitter “re-reviewed” the report on Monday and changed its ruling.

And Google algorithms were used to cut my blog traffict from 600 pageviews, daily, to 20.

You have my headline info.  Add to that,  the fact that I have no visibility on the Net because of Google/Twitter,Facebook's abuse of their own algorithms.    Thank you Google,  and thank you Dems for not caring.   Go to hell.

Lanny Davis, Cohen's attorney, admits falsely implicating Trump in the meeting at the Twin Towers.

"I should have been much clearer that I could not confirm the story," [Lanny]Davis said Monday, attempting to clean up his comments in interviews last week after Cohen pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations, tax evasion and bank fraud.
Davis told The Washington Post over the weekend that he "could not independently confirm" the claims he made on television last week that Cohen witnessed Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., telling his father about the Trump Tower meeting beforehand.

If Trump refuses to lower the flag in honor of an arrognt politician (but a war hero  -  truly),  Trump would be excoriated.  But if McCain refuses to allow Trump to attend his funeral or any of the funeral's aftermath,  well, that level of childishness is just fine.

Turns out, the President has order the flags lowered until the end of the McCain funeral carnaval.

A few details of the proposed trade deal with Mexico"

This is truly a trade deal that benefits workers in both countries:

Must be ratified by Congress  -  a 16 year window.
75% of autos manufactured in Mexico must be built in the  U.S.,  up from 62 %.
40 to 45% of Mexican built cars must pay workers $16 per hour.

If House ratifies this before the elections,  the Senaate can make it law by the end of September.

Very much a union approved treatise.

This past week: Tiger Woods and NFL superstar, Jim Brown, have issued statements supporting President Trump (no article).

Rasmussen has the same numbers of NBC and WSJ: All good for the Prez.

But two new polls in the past week suggest that the Manafort conviction and Cohen plea have had exactly zero impact on the president’s popularity. An NBC News poll that covered August 22, the day after the news about Manafort and Cohen broke, found that 46 percent of respondents still viewed Trump favorably, with 51 percent disapproving of his performance. That’s still about 10 points higher than his ratings back in December. A separate NBC/Wall Street Journal poll conducted in the three days after the two criminal cases concluded found that Trump’s approval rating was 44 percent, with 52 percent of those polled viewing Trump unfavorably.

Trump's approval ratings after last week's "devastating" news.

Rasmussen has Trump down two points (approval  -  44%)  and his disapproval rating also down one point to 51%.  Keep in mind that Rasmussen was more accurate as to 2016 than Gallup.

Update:  Charles Payne of Fox Business News tells us that this trade deal is a very big deal for the American Worker.

Abilene Texas voted 80% for Trump in 2016 and it just elected . . .

Abiline Texas voted 80% for Trump in 2016 and it just elected its first black mayor   . . . .  proving that Trump voters are anything but racists.  Period.

Fox News just announced:

Russell 2000  (small business stocks ) went to a record high this morning,  in part because of the announcement by the President,  that Mexico and the U.S. have come to a trade agreement .  A signifcant part of this trade deal is the immedicate effort at buying as much agricultural product as possible.  Pre-election -  this is a big deal for the GOP. Promises made;  promises kept.

Brietbart exposes Democrat plan to open 100 investigations as they try to shut down Trump - - - if they win the House.

I am thinking that this will back fire come 2020  ~  editor

A spreadsheet reportedly circulating among House Republicans details over 100 potential investigations into President Donald Trump that Democrats will launch if they win the November elections. They intend to impeach him — or, at best, cripple his presidency.

The document, reported by Axios on Sunday and hinted at by HuffPost on Friday (which put the number at a mere 52 investigations), is said to have Republicans “getting ready for hell,” as Democrats will use oversight to create gridlock, or worse.
Axios reports that some of the investigations, based on requests for inquiries made by Democrats while in the minority, include:
  • President Trump’s tax returns
  • Trump family businesses — and whether they comply with the Constitution’s emoluments clause, including the Chinese trademark grant to the Trump Organization
  • Trump’s dealings with Russia, including the president’s preparation for his meeting with Vladimir Putin
  • The payment to Stephanie Clifford — a.k.a. Stormy Daniels

After 10 years, and, 2 million pageviews, my blog is under attack from Google (again). Here is what I have learned about the Internet:

You might not know this or believe what I am about to write, but there is only one search engine on the Net. Different organizations and policies, but only one search engine and it controls all written Internet speech.
I was against "Net Neutrality," until this past week, but now, after being unfriended by Google, I fully support Federal regulation of the Net as a public utility. At least under federal regulation as an utility, the Constitution would apply because the Net would be superintended by the US Government, and, the 1st Amendment (freedom of speech) would be enforced, rather than allowing Google,Twitter, and Facebook to enforce their own rules. Conservatives are against "net neutrality," but they really need to rethink their position.

the major media including Google, Facebook, Twitter are out to crush the Conservative Rebellion.

Sunday, the Feds announced Cohen's illegal involvement with a $20 million loan. Two days later he turned on the President.

Here’s Why Cohen is Singing: He’s under Investigation for $20M in Loans

So in case you were wondering why it is that Michael Cohen has turned on President Trump, it appears he is under investigation for possible misdeeds related to $20 million in loans, according to the New York Times.
    From the Times piece:
Federal authorities investigating whether President Trump’s former personal lawyer and fixer, Michael D. Cohen, committed bank and tax fraud have zeroed in on well over $20 million in loans obtained by taxi businesses that he and his family own, according to people familiar with the matter.
Investigators are also examining whether Mr. Cohen violated campaign finance or other laws by helping to arrange financial deals to secure the silence of women who said they had affairs with Mr. Trump. The inquiry has entered the final stage and prosecutors are considering filing charges by the end of August, two of the people said.
Sounds like Cohen may be facing the rest of his life in jail. And so he’s turning on Trump. They’re putting out stories that he felt Trump didn’t treat him well enough, etc. But the bottom line is he doesn’t want to go to jail.
This is what Trump means by a witch hunt. You look around enough, and you find a witch  . . . .

The Daily Caller:  Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen has reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors, according to ABC News.
Cohen has been under investigation in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York for bank fraud, tax evasion and campaign finance violations.
The New York Times reported on Sunday that investigators were looking into $20 million in bank loans given to companies controlled by Cohen and his family. The 52-year-old lawyer is also being investigated over payments he made to women who claimed to have had affairs with President Donald Trump. FBI agents raided Cohen’s home, office and hotel room on April 7.
NBC News reported earlier Tuesday that Cohen was discussing a plea deal with the government. CNN reported that Cohen was not planning to cooperate with prosecutors as part of the deal.
New York prosecutors took over the Cohen investigation after a referral from special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government. It is unclear . . . .

Today,  we can celebrate the end of the Paris Climate Legacy platform, yet,  after two years of Trump,  the United States still leads the world as to emission reductions.  Give credit to Obama?  Whatever.  The point is this:  Trump is equally concerned about the environment,  just not on the backs of the working middle class.
    • Obama wanted the Clean Power Plan to be the centerpiece of his climate agenda, including meeting Paris climate accord goals.
    • Trump ruined Obama’s plans in 2017, and now is going even further.

The Daily Caller compiled a list of nearly two-dozen incidents alone since January in which Democratic officials made violent jokes about the president and his supporters, Trump officials were harassed in public and other disturbing incidents that lowered the state of discourse.

After Kavanaugh is sworn in to the High Court, Trump should challenge each and every one of the following.

Anyone who has his head above the sand should recognize by now that the unelected judiciary – what was supposed to be the weakest branch of government – has been accorded the status of sole and final arbiter of every social and political question in recent years. But there is a subset of this judicial tyranny that is particularly disturbing. In addition to overstepping their jurisdiction, ignoring the Constitution, and abusing the rules of standing, courts are now using Obama’s discretionary executive policies (many of which were lawless) as a new legal baseline, thereby prohibiting Trump from merely reverting back to the way things were before Obama unilaterally changed the law.
    Here are 13 prominent examples:
    1) Executive amnesty: This must be at the top of anyone’s list. Obama’s unilateral violation of American sovereignty and immigration law was likely the most lawless act of an executive in recent memory. But when Trump simply countermanded that usurpation, a number of district judges – from William Alsup and Nicholas Garaufis to John Bates – said he must continue issuing work permits . . . . .

Maybe Clapper is not that much of a friend to Brennan, after all.

Even James Clapper is coming to believe that Brennan's big mouth is becoming a problem.

Megan Keller / The Hill: Clapper: Brennan's rhetoric is becoming an issue

"John and his rhetoric have become an issue in and of itself," Clapper said on CNN's "State of the Union." "John is subtle like a freight train and he’s gonna say what’s on his mind."

Clapper's comments came in response to an op-ed penned by Brennan in The New York Times this week, in which he wrote . . . . .

Brennan threatens to take Trump to court over the loss of his security clearance. Giuliani welcomes the lawsuit. Here is why:

As you read the following empty threat,  know this:  The Prez violated no law,  not a single one,  and has the power to vacate any and all security clearances,  if he so chose.  In addition,  Brennan fears one thing more than all other considerations:  being forced to tell the truth,  under oath,  and questioned by Rudy.  So let him sue    . . . . . .    of course,  he is all bluff.  ~  editor.

“I am going to do whatever I can personally to try to prevent these abuses in the future,” he added. “And if it means going to court, I will do that.”    Brennan has previously indicated that he is considering legal action.

Donald Trump:   Establishment Republicans and anti-Trump journalists were stunned when President Trump tweeted that he would be willing to risk a government shutdown in order to secure funding for his border wall.

Trump, a racist? Maybe not so much

    - The Washington Times - Tuesday, August 14, 2018

Rep. Frederica Wilson on Tuesday unleashed a tirade on President Trump for calling Omarosa Manigault Newman a “dog” on Twitter, saying the president is a “white supremacist” and “everything that comes out of that White House is racist.”
“He has taken this country to its knees,” the Florida Democrat told CNN’s John Berman. “The president of the United States is calling a woman of color a dog? How dare he!”

Editor:  Good grief.  Rep. Wilson,  in her cowboy clown suit,  has been calling President Trump a racist for two years.  So what is new?   Trump was good enough to hire a Miss. There is good reason to believe the GOP will keep the House.

Republicans appear to have closed the gap with Democrats in the all-important “generic ballot” — a clear sign that the GOP is surging politically in the run-up to the November 2018 midterms.
Democrats continue to insist that a “Blue Wave” will sweep their party back into control of the House of Representatives and may even allow them to recapture the Senate as well.
But the generic ballot — the best single measure of the relative balance of support of the two parties with the electorate — strongly suggests otherwise.

Norway, Sweden and Denmark are not the hallmarks of socialism the Left wants you to believe.

In arguing for socialism,  Progressive/Socialists  often refer to  Norway, Sweden, and Denmark as examples of socialist success. There are, however, several key problems with that.
First, these countries are not technically socialist. By the YDSA’s  definition, socialism entails a centrally planned economy with nationalized means of production. Although these countries have high income taxes and provide generous social programs, they remain prosperous because of their free-market economies.
Denmark ranks as the 10th most economically free country in The Heritage Foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom, which cites free-market policies and regulatory efficiency as reasons for the high standard of living. Sweden is ranked 15th and Norway 23rd, both with similar descriptions of thriving private sectors and open markets.
These three countries are clearly not operating under centrally planned economies, or their economic-freedom scores would be significantly lower.
Second, the success of these countries is clearly based on a capitalist foundation, and it predates

There is science and , then, there is impact science. One is about facts; the other is about advancing a political agenda.

Nathan Confas and his research team propose a different explanation. They suggest that increasing levels of skepticism towards scientific institutions is partly a reaction to the politicization—namely, the liberalization—of these institutions.
The distrust is not driven by all scientists, but rather by what Confas and his team refer to as “impact scientists.” These are researchers, typically working in the social sciences and environmental science, who often conduct research with the stated goal of raising awareness of left-liberal issues, or acceptance of left-liberal policy solutions.
“There is a strong possibility that conservatives are not opposed to, or skeptical of, science per se. Rather, they lack trust in impact scientists whom they see as seeking in influence policy in a liberal direction,” explains Confas.
He points to the field of sociology as an example. A recent study surveying 479 sociology professors discovered that only 4 percent identify as conservative or libertarian, while 86 percent identify as liberal or left-radical.
[RELATED: STUDY: Only 2% of sociology profs identify as conservative]
