Obama is accused with illegal use of emails to hide contact with lobbyist

Editor's notes: file this ABC report under "crooks and liars." Midknight Review is beginning to believe that the current Administration is so corrupt that they just might not be able to defend themselves from all "charges." We have this story, the Blago trial which is not good for Obama, and the corruption in the DOJ as revealed in an interview by Megyn Kelly of FoxNews of one its retiring lawyers. --- jds

ABC News’ Karen Travers reports:

. . . . CREW wrote a letter to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform asking it to investigate and hold hearings to determine any violations of the Presidential Records Act (PRA) and Federal Records Act (FRA).

. . . . .The group’s letter is in response to an article in The New York Times on June 25 that said Obama White House officials have met “hundreds of times” over the last 18 months with prominent Washington lobbyists.“It is outrageous that White House staff are deliberately using personal email accounts – in violation of the law – to hide the fact that they are in touch with lobbyists,” . . . . .This isn’t the first time CREW has called the Obama White House out for transparency.

After CREW filed a lawsuit last summer to force the President Obama to share White House visitors logs with the public, the White House on September 4 announced its new disclosure policy to regularly make public most of the names of visitors to the White House. . . . . Our debt is on track to comsume our Gross Product. We can reverse this trend but not with Obama at the helm

scenarios 1

Edtior's notes: this chart measures current deficit trending. By 2020, our national public debt will be at 90% of all that we produce "for sale" (GDP). All such charting assumes certain conditions as being "factual" at some time in the future. In this case, the National Product (left side of the chart - the vertical numbering) is fixed at present rates. If the GDP increases, the percentage of debt-to-GDP will decrease, of course. While Bush was busy spending at record rates -- Obama, Reid, Pelosi all voting their approval -- his debt-to-GDP percentage was only 40%. Obama has increased that percentage to nearly 70%. With a declining industrial product, a stagnant private sector jobs contribution, and a novice economist as president, the current spending policy is proving to be a disaster.

update: we just found an article written by a Collectivist Lib here. Same chart but a rather nonsensical commentary. The author seems to think that the chart proves that all is well. Further, he suffers under the delusion that ObamaCare will kick in cost saving measures. . . . . no serious economist believes this. Understand that ObamaCare will be far out of line well before it actually goes into effect. Cash for Clunkers cost three times the estimated cost and did not kick start anything. The Stimulus is nearly 14% over budget with only 682,000 jobs to show for it (see recovery.gov). Since coming into power, Fannie and Freddie have racked up an additional debt of 1 trillion dollars and an emergency bail-out is on the way. The promise to stop the rise in the unemployment rate was not even close and threatens to remain the case for years to come. Remember TARP? Well, 24 trillion has been run through that program, as well - according to Neil Barofshy, the man in charge of looking after this fund. Social Security is 38 trillion in the hole. Medicare is 37 trillion. AMTRAC, funded by the Feds has a 30 year record of operating in the red. Ditto the Post Office. What happened to all those shovel ready jobs?? In fact, if we cited 15 Government programs, not one would have worked as promised, all would be grossly over budget. The socialist lib in question makes fun of a future "apocalypse " not understanding that financial apocalypse may have already happen !!

cBS News finally is critical of the Messiah. Maybe the "honey moon is over."

President Barack Obama stands with the co-chairs of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, Erskine Bowles, second from right, and Alan Simpson, right, in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House in Washington, Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010.

(Credit: AP)

President Obama's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform is meeting today as part of its efforts to craft recommendations by December on how best to address America's red-ink problem.

Mr. Obama established the commission in February, saying debt and deficits can "hobble our economy" and "saddle every child in America with an intolerable burden."

Yet the president's decision to establish a commission to address a problem he described as potentially catastrophic seems odd in light of his earlier criticism of commissions in general. As Ari Shapiro noted on National Public Radio today, the president mocked the notion of commissions to address problems back when he was a candidate.

Here's Mr. Obama on September 18, 2008, not long after the economic collapse: "Senator McCain's first answer to this economic crisis was - get ready for it - a commission. That's Washington-speak for 'we'll get back to you later.'"

"Folks, we don't need a commission to spend a few years and a lot of taxpayer money to tell us what's going on in our economy," he continued. "We don't need a commission to tell us gas prices are high or that you can't pay your bills. We don't need a commission to tell us you're losing your jobs. We don't need a commission to study this crisis, we need a President who will solve it - and that's the kind of President I intend to be." READ THE FULL REPORT >>>

More on the Golf Crisis -- Tiger Woods divorce is final.

Seriously, the headline tells it all and we have nothing more to say:

Elin Nordegren Gets $750M, Custody of Kids in Exchange for Silence in Tiger Woods Divorce...

Now, the Dems will not allow the GOP House members to travel to the Gulf.

Editor's notes: more partisan behavior on the part of the Democrats. There is no reason why GOP members cannot use their office funds and travel to the Gulf to view the situation - Homeland Security nonsense aside. We are thinking that the Dems will recant but, for now, this is a story that does not make them look good. How mismanaged IS this Gulf mess.

Politico reports: Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) wanted to fly 10 lawmakers down to the Gulf of Mexico to see the damage caused by BP’s gigantic oil spill first hand.

House Democrats said no.

Scalise’s trip was rejected for a variety of bureaucratic and logistical reasons, but it has also opened a new vein of partisan squabbling over who should be allowed to arrange a trip to view the impact of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Republicans want to be able to take trips using their office spending allowance. But Democrats have heard from the Department of Homeland Security, which has asked that Congress organize trips through committees of jurisdiction, to avoid having to cater to a ton of individual lawmakers in a disaster zone, Democratic aides say. GOP leaders say they’ve heard nothing of this . . . READ MORE >>>

Can we impeach the Democrat congress for criminal misrepresentation regarding ObamaCare?

Editor's notes: what is most rewarding in The Hill report, below, is the fact that "repeal and replace" as regards ObamaCare is still on the table. Support for the law has dwindled to even more of a minority status than when the law was passed. And the news coming out of expanding reviews of this poorly written monstrosity is all bad.

A full 50 % of all Americans will NOT be able to keep their current doctor as Obama promised. The immediate inclusion - as promised - of children up to the age of 26, will NOT happen until 2014. Costs to corporations will be extreme - AT&T telling us that ObamaCare will cost the company 1 billion dollars; some $40 billion in increased costs were reported in the first quarter of this year, due to accounting laws that required corporations to report the passage of laws effecting the "bottom line" to their share holders - a law requiring corporations to report in the same quarter as the passage of the law. These reports came as a complete surprise to Democrat law makers --- some threatening to take these corporations to task for making these reports public. Since issuing these threats, these law makers have found that the corporate reports were required by Federal law to be public and the threats have been subsequently abandoned. Increases in the Medicare population were given a funding allocation of $5 billion, in the new law. It is now being reported that this allocation will cover no more than 250, 000 citizens when, in fact, millions will be added to Medicare roles. The funding was kept at a low level in order to make the bill appear to be cost effective. It was all a lie and a huge lie. These Democrat clowns may have cost the American taxpayer a trillion dollars in this particular lie, alone. And we are just beginning to find out what is in this bill -- jds

The Hill reports : The top two House Republicans signed onto two petitions to force votes to repeal Democrats' healthcare reform law in its entirety.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said they had signed onto discharge petitions set to be offered by members of their conference, one of which would seek to repeal health reform in its entirety.

Boehner and Cantor said they'd back discharge petitions by Reps. Steve King (R-Iowa) and Wally Herger (R-Calif.), a method to force a vote in the House. A majority of the House — 218 members — must sign onto a discharge petition, though, to force a vote, meaning that a vote on repeal in the House would be a steep climb.

"The American people asked Congress and President Obama not to pass the massive healthcare overhaul, and they were ignored," Boehner and Cantor said in a statement. "Three months later, they remain opposed to it, worried about the consequences it is having for job creation, the national debt, and the cost and quality of their healthcare.

"The House should immediately vote on and pass legislation that would implement the will of the American people with respect to the president’s healthcare law," the pair added.

While the Republican leaders' support for the petition may well end up being symbolic, it's squarely a part of the GOP's election-year messaging against the healthcare reform. Boehner has called repealing health reform the top priority for Republicans if they should retake control of Congress this fall. . . . READ THE FULL REPORT >>>

ABC Warns G-20's Rejection of Obama-Spendanomics ‘Could Plunge World Into a Second Recession’

Actually it wasn't "ABC" giving this warning. Nope. Rather, the warning came from a single reporter, alarmed with the fact that Obama's economic pleadings were roundly rejected at the G-8 and, more recently, the G-20.

This same warning was put out last week by Democrat leadership.

It is all about positioning. If "deficit spending" is not allowed AND the nation goes into a second recession, the Democrats and that one reporter will say, "We told you so."

Some will be fooled, not asking "why." But the question deserves an answer. Why? Why has deficit spending not worked? Understand that the policy (embedded in the concept known as Keynesian economics) has been in practice since the early '30's and a national obsession since Bush 43. Keynesian economics attempts to nationalize or centralize the management of the many individual influences and forces driving a free market economy. Midknight Review does not believe a free market system needs "management." Management - no. Regulation against fraud, greed and monopolies -- yes. Legislation preventing business failures; institutionalized bail-out programs -- no. entrepreneurship ? Yes. Fear of failure? No.

But, again, why has deficit spending failed ? Because getting one's self out of a hole by continued digging is just the wrong thing to do. Spending a nation into prosperity only creates a national debt that [eventually] becomes unmanageable. Look, when one appears to be prosperous because credit/debt allows him to buy new product - a new car, a new house, new clothes and new stuff - this does not mean that he is, in fact, prosperous. Ditto for a nation. If our GDP does not supply all the income needed for a sound national policy, that policy is eventually doomed. Obama does not believe that GDP has anything to do with determining political policy. If that policy demands the expense of money, we believe that GDP has everything to do with the determination of policy. The principles of financial soundness are as old as rain. Keynesian economics has been around for only 90 years and has brought us to the point of financial collapse, on the international scene (i.e. the G-8 and G-20) as well as the national theater. Understand that borrowing money to solve a short-term cash flow problem is fine if that debt is immediately paid back. But we never get to the point of paying back our debt and therein is the problem. Eventually debt management, the scheduled payment of principle and interest - gets so high that it hinders growth and renewal.

Know this: public debt is not the only debt we, as a nation, have incurred. We owe 38 trillion to Social Security, taking the monies coming from pay check deductions and spending it on national programs rather than using it for its original purpose - funding Social Security payouts. We have grown Medicaid faster than the rate of monies collected and owe that fund 37 trillion. And then there is healthcare. We are already realizing that it was grossly misrepresented in terms of its cost.

In this morning's CBO commentary, we have these words: All told, CBO projects, the aging of the population and the rising cost of health care will cause spending on the major mandatory health care programs and Social Security to grow from roughly 10 percent of GDP today to about 16 percent of GDP 25 years from now if current laws are not changed. (By comparison, spending on all of the federal government’s programs and activities, excluding interest payments on debt, has averaged 18.5 percent of GDP over the past 40 years.) READ MORE AT THE CBO's blog for today, June 30 >>>>> Note: interest on the national debt and scheduled principle payments in the form of T-Bond maturity payouts is now around 11% of GDP. When that sum equals 14%, our national credit rating will be decreased from AAA to AA+ and the interest we will have to pay lenders will go from around 3.8% to a nominal 8% . Disaster on a national scale follows this eventuality. It is critical that our credit rating not be reduced. We hope that the Administration agrees but we do not know that it does, tragically.

Bush Wins - Hillary, Obama, the NY Times, Harry Reid and MoveOn.org have to eat crow, again.

Editor's notes: does anyone see the humor in General Patraeus' appointment by one of his chief critics, Mr. Obama? Have we so soon forgotten the Left's characterization of the General with the words, "General Betray Us" ?? We haven't.

In September of 2007, the General appeared before a Senate subcommittee and was berated by the Democrats on that panel.

Hillary suggested that he was not honest in his reporting of the news in Iraq, that his testimony "required the suspension of disbelief," something for which the [now] Secretary of State has never apologized.

Over at MoveOn.org, those hypocrite Marxists scrubbed their site of this ad, just last week, when it became clear that Patraeus has triumphed over their lies and anti-patriotic slander in his appointment by another chief critic, Mr. Obama. The ad to the left was published by the New York Times, which now proclaims Obama as "brilliant" in his choice of Patraeus. crooks and liars all.

Let's not forget Harry Reid declaring the war in Iraq as a lost war. He made this statement in review of what he typified as a failed "surge" effort. That was in April of 2007. What the Minion Media did not report was the fact that the surge forces has not yet arrived in Iraq when Reid issued his declaration. We now know that the surge worked and the war in Iraq has been a victorious war.

Never forget that Obama has refused to give credit to Bush for the victory in Iraq but he has quickly turned to a Bush commander to bail him out of the Afghan situation. In fact, most of the Bush war doctrine is being used by Obama -- the drone war was Bush's idea. Obama has left GITMO open and continues the practice of rendition. What is not commonly known, as well, is that Obama reserves the right to waterboard in critical situations.

She's beautiful, 20 years old and a Russian spy - one of 10 and we are told there are more.

Correction and update: turns out that this woman is a Russian
national, a 28 year old divorcee with a masters in economics
and an online real estate business.

A failure to set priorities and work out the mundane requirements of governance is the bane of Obama's presidency.

Editor's notes: Obama called a meeting of Congressional figures, abouht 20 for both parties. His goal was to talk about the coming push for climate and energy legislation. Obama came into power with the goal to "fundamentally transform the United States" (his words). It turns out that this is not only true, it is his only concern. TARP, the Stimulus, Cap and Trade, Healthcare reform, the regulation of Wall Street, taking over GM, and getting re-elected ---- these are the things he wants to do. Everything else seems to be a serious bother. Actually solving problems? Not so much. Look at the time he has spent dealing with the jobs problem. . . . . . next to none. Look at his management of the Gulf crisis. . . . . . 71 days into the crisis and still, no sense of urgency; his clean-up strategy? None existent. The Israeli/Palestine problem? His way or the highway or so he has told the Jews. Foreign policy in general ?? It is an absolute mess and all because he has given it so serious attention.

And folks are getting rather tired of his obfuscation failed sense of priorities. Here is an report of an exchange at between Obama and Lamar Alexander at the meeting, today:

(ABC News) In the wake of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, President Obama today summoned a bipartisan group of over 20 senators to the White House to push for energy and climate change legislation.

But one thing the President did not want to talk about at the meeting was the BP disaster, a Republican source told ABC News. And that, the source said, led to a pointed exchange with GOP senator Lamar Alexander from Tennessee.

“The priority should be fixing the oil spill,” Alexander told the President, according to the source. “That's what any meeting about energy should be about.”

But when Alexander tried to interject the BP leak into the meeting, the source said, the President told the senator, “That’s just your talking point.”

Retorted Alexander, “No, it’s my opinion.” READ MORE >>>

Understand that Alexander's criticism is shared by more and more Democrats; Alexander is a Republican.

Now Fannie and Freddie need another trillion dollars. Stop already !!!!

Understand that Fannie and Freddie, the largest mortgage houses in the country, controlling 53% of all mortgages, is in deep trouble. In spite of the "needed" rescue, the latest financial reform bill does not address ANY of the problems at these institutions. Why? They are government controlled agencies. Last Christmas Eve, the Socialist Democrats passed a resolution giving Obama access to Fannie/Freddie funding WITHOUT HAVING TO REPORT TO CONGRESS. Did anyone notice that ACORN is no longer crying for money? Obama took money out of Fannie/Freddie (or somewhere), transfered it to ACORN Housing and all is well. How did GM pay off 6.5 billion dollars "5 years early" after GM lost 4 billion dollars in the previous quarter and made no profit for all of 2009? The money either came from the mortgage funding pool or from the TARP fund. We will never know since there is no accounting for these funding expenditures. And then, there is the matter of bonuses. The folks at Fannie and Freddie received millions of dollars in bonus from Obama --- the exact sort of thing Obama used to rail against the private sector. Crooks and liars, all.

The Minion Media has done an excellent job in diverting attention from the real causes of the current recession. In the beginning of the evolving mess, nearly two years ago, we were listening to truth. The recession was fueled by the "affordable housing" policies of the Federal Government and the silly notion that home ownership is a civil right of all Americans. Billions in high risk loans were offered AS PER THE MANDATE OF THE SOCIALIST DEMOCRATS, and this house of cards finally collapsed in late 2008. But no one in the Democrat controlled Congress has done anything to address the failed policies of this "affordable housing" program.

Unless and until the Feds get their house(s) in order, the American people should refuse to pay for any more bail outs. Everyone is screaming at Obama, from the Left as well as the Right. He is not listening and needs to be impeached or voted out of office. --- jds.

Post script: when we spoke of the media diverting attention away from the true causes of the recession? We had in mind FoxNews and Shepard Smith. Last week, during one of his evening broadcasts, he mentioned derivatives and hedge funds as causes for the recession. That is because he gets much of his perspective from Daily Kos (he quotes this Socialist rag often) and/or similar "news" outlets. The fact is that almost no economists we have read blame derivatives and hedge funds (which are derivatives -- maybe Smith doesn't know that, either) for the recession. Contributing influences most often mentioned by real economist include the recension of the Glass-Steagall Act; lending quotas for the working poor -- folks who could not afford these loans in the long term; a system of bonues and profit based on these high risk sales; the bundling of corrupt loans; a lack of confidence that induced "panic" selling; increasing bankruptcy rates ------ to name a few but NOT derivatives. In fact, it is safe to say that derivatives has NOTHING to do with the current crisis.

Obama continues to score ZERO on the Arizona deal. Forget not that 20,000 have been killed on the border in the last 3 years.

Editor's notes: yesterday, Governor Jan Brewer, Arizona, attended a meeting with some of Obama's staff concerning the issues centered in the illegal alien crisis in her state. We watched her response to that meeting yesterday evening. Quite frankly, we thought she was seething with anger. Who wouldn't be? She has been ignored by this president and lied about. Three weeks ago, Obama personally met with Brewer for about 20 minutes and promised to get back to her within two weeks - again, that was three weeks ago. Brewer waited and waited, only to hear of Obama's decision in the media. . . . . . . an announcement made by Hillary Clinton while she was in South America !!! No phone call from Obama. No warning. No further discussion. Only this surprise announcement and then, yesterday's "power point" meeting. Brewer asked for a hard copy of the staff's discussion. She was refused. She would receive no hard copy, no nothing with which she could show the media. We mention all this as a context for this ad, released by Brewer yesterday. You need to listen and we need to continue to give Brewer and the good folks of the state our active support. --- jds

Thomas Sowell actually publishes an intelligent discussion about gun ownership. In that, he goes one up on the Marxist opposition.

Editor's notes: Thomas Sowell, an economist out of Stanford, in the article below, discusses the myth of gun ownership -- that a gun toting population will run loose, killing each other at will. More than that, he wonders why this is a political issue and finishes with some comments about the role of the media in all this. Understand that over at CNN, Jeffery Toobin, a legal advisor for that network, voiced shock at today's High Court decision to support private gun ownership as "Constitutional." In a nonsensical discussion on Anderson 360, this clown took the position that prior to today, it was established opinion that the Constitution did not address private gun ownership !! Can anybody say "lala land?"

Remember Sotomeyer? She was Obama's first Supreme Court appointment. In today's 5-4 decision in favor of private gun ownership, Sotomeyer voted against the majority opinion. What is frustrating is the fact that during her confirmation hearings, she specifically stated that she thought the Constitution supported private gun ownership. In today's decision, she said she couldn't find that support. Midknight Review opposed Sotomeyer's appointment pointing to her progressive ways. Turns out we were right.

In the case of Elena Kagan, we have a woman with no judicial experience, having voiced her opinion that speech needs to be qualified in order to be protected (that's NOT the definition of free speech, folks). She also believes that the Court should play a vital role in a thing called "social justice." With such people, the amendment process for changing or adding to the Constitution, is supplanted by the Courts. Rather than "the people" deciding when Constitutional precedent should continue or be revised, the Courts usurp this authority and take the rule of the people, by the people and for the people away from the people.

In this we see the definition of the present conflict: Constitutional rule versus Progressivism. In that definition, it is clear that Progressives are the enemies of a Consitutional form of governance. --- jds.

Despise Guns? Change Begins At Ballot Box

Now that the Supreme Court of the United States has decided that the Second Amendment to the Constitution means that individual Americans have a right to bear arms, what can we expect?

Those who have no confidence in ordinary Americans may expect a bloodbath, as the benighted masses start shooting each other, now that they can no longer be denied guns by their betters. People who think we shouldn't be allowed to make our own medical decisions, or decisions about which schools our children attend, certainly are not likely to be happy with the idea that we can make our own decisions about how to defend ourselves.

When you stop and think about it, there is no obvious reason why issues such as gun control should be ideological issues in the first place. It is ultimately an empirical question whether allowing ordinary citizens to have firearms will increase or decrease the amount of violence.

Many people who are opposed to gun laws that place severe restrictions on ordinary citizens owning firearms have based them on the Second Amendment to the Constitution. But, while the Supreme Court must make the Second Amendment the basis of its rulings on gun control laws, there is no reason why the Second Amendment should be the last word for the voting public.

If the end of gun control leads to a bloodbath of runaway shootings, then the Second Amendment can be repealed, just as other constitutional amendments have been repealed. Laws exist for people, not people for laws.

There is no point arguing, as many people do, that it is difficult to amend the Constitution. The fact that it doesn't happen very often doesn't mean that it is difficult. The people may not want it to happen, even if the intelligentsia are itching to change it. When the people wanted it to happen, the Constitution was amended four times in eight years, from 1913 through 1920. . . . . . READ THIS TWO PAGE ARTICLE >>>

Bad news for Obama. Capitalism is thriving in "other" world.

Editor's notes: the world at large is beginning to "dig" capitalism. The article below, from Investor's Business Daily, claims 3 billion new jobs due to capitalism in China, India and the Soviet block countries. This is confirming news for capitalists and bad news for the Keynesian economists the world over -- especially Obama. Not good news for America, either, unless Obama wakes up to the error of his ways and begins to do what needs to be done to stimulate private economic creativity. He knows little as to productive hard work, real job creation, absolutely nothing about conflict resolution and ditto for administrative strategies. The Darling of Chicago politics has never had to deal with systemic criticism. He needs to turn off his pissy attitude and his Jeremish Wright bias towards the "white corporate world" and start acting like a president or we are all in for more hart times. --- jds.

IBD: . . . . . . .Before the recession, 3 billion new capitalist producers rose out of the geopolitical and ideological currents related to communism's decline and eventual collapse. China, India and nearly all the former Soviet bloc nations, plus parts of Latin America, junked state-run economic orthodoxy and unshackled their companies and workers, adding tremendously to worldwide output.

Since 1990, for example, China's output has risen by a factor of five for washing machines, six for steel, eight for color TVs, nine for mobile phones, 250 for room air-conditioners and 1,000 for motor vehicles. A large share of this production has made its way to foreign markets as Chinese exports soared from $91 billion in 1990 to $1.1 trillion in 2008.

So far, the new capitalists have been viewed as competitors, putting pressure on U.S. companies and workers to become more efficient. But going forward the arrival of these new economic powers holds the promise of 3 billion new consumers. . . . . DEFINITELY READ THIS ARTICLE >>>>>

Senator Byrd dies today, ending his 12th 6 year term as Senator

Editor's notes: West Virginia's 12 term Senator, Robert "Pork Barrel" Byrd died this morning, shortly after 4 am pst. In 1944, he wrote a letter in which he declared that he would never fight next to a black man and 20 years later, he voted against the 1964 Civil Rights bill. Byrd was a big dog in the KKK for years, despite claims to the contrary but in his old age, "repented" of his bias and worked to help correct some of his wrong-headed decisions.

He was a buffoon on camera and of little consequence as a leader in the Democrat party. His claim to fame was his ability to bring money to his state. In fact, he and the other dead guy, John "the crook" Murtha were the kings of pork in Congress.

The single most notable expressed concern of Senator Byrd was his stated opposition to Obama's misuse of the "czar" staffing strategy -- an effort on the part of Obama to circumvent Congress -- a practice Byrd angrily spoke out against . . . . . . so he wasn't all bad. We do not rejoice in his passing but we, also, do not pretend that he distinguished himself in Congress. --- jds.

Biden told us that Obama would be tested by our enemies, but he didn't say "by all of them !!"

Editor's notes: the real story, here, is the failure that is the Obama/Russia diplomatic strategy which is: "treat them with respect, unlike Bush's diplomacy and we will enlist the Russian's as friends and ally's." Understand that while Obama was shaking hands with Russia's #2 man, these same Russians were busy spying on us per the order's of Russia's #1 man -- Putin. It is not that Obama's strategy is not working, rather, that we are in greater danger as a people because of the failure this strategy. Bush was respected or, at least, feared by his enemies. Obama is neither.

Think about this: North Korea laughs in our face; Chavez in Venezuela has been given $5 billion in military aid from Russia; China and Brazil have become partners in several venues including oil discovery; Castro has signed 5 drilling contracts with the Russians; Obama has fiddled for 17 months while Iran is about to become a nuclear Mid East power; Obama has brutalized and embarrassed the Jews -- his actions threaten their very survival; Canada just told him "no" when Obama pushed them to keep spending; Germany, France and Britian have separated themselves from Obama's ridiculous economic plans. Heck, forget about our foreign enemies. Obama has declared "war" on the State of Arizona and he can't even handle that effectively. - jds

(New York Times excerpt) An F.B.I. investigation that began at least seven years ago culminated with the arrest on Sunday of 10 people in Yonkers, Boston, and northern Virginia. The documents detailed what the authorities called the “Illegals Program,” an ambitious, long-term effort by the S.V.R., the successor to the Soviet K.G.B., to plant Russian spies in the United States to gather information and recruit more agents.

But the charges did not include espionage, and it was unclear what secrets the suspected spy ring — which included five couples — actually managed to collect or what prompted American authorities to finally shut it down.

Criminal complaints filed in federal court on Monday read like an old-fashioned cold war thriller: Spies swapping identical orange bags as they brushed past one another in a train station stairwell. An identity borrowed from a dead Canadian, forged passports of several countries, letters sent by shortwave burst transmission or in invisible ink. A money cache buried for years in a field in upstate New York.

But the network of so-called illegals — spies operating under false names outside of the usual diplomatic cover — also used cyber-age technology, according to the charges. They embedded coded texts in ordinary-looking images posted on the Internet, and they communicated by having two agents with laptops containing special software pass casually as messages flashed between them . . . . . . Maybe this will help you decide if Obama is a post-racial fellow

Here is an except from Michelle Obama's senior paper. Midknight Review believes that Michelle is the window into the soul of Barack Obama. What is true for her is true for Barack. These are words taken from her senior paper at Princeton (go to Page Three above). She is definitely a Black woman in a white man's world. The Obama's are hardly post-racial. They bring a controlled sense of Black anger to the White House - an angry rhetoric they willingly listened to for 20 years, sitting at the feet of Jeremiah Wright. -- jds.

"My experiences at Princeton have made me far more aware of my 'blackness' than ever before . . . I have found that at Princeton, no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don't belong. Regardless of the circumstances underwhich I interact with whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first and a student second."

Another word for "Keynesian economics" is "spending like a banje." Are we about done with that? Read this WSJ article.

Editor's notes: Keynesian (pronounced "key-nezian") economics have been around since the 1930's. It is a product of the progressive socialist mind and it has taken us so deep into debt that it is difficult to see how we can buy our way out of the mess we have made for ourselves using its principles. More than this, it is an impossible reality. It seeks to manage all the anecdotal affairs of an economy and it cannot do that without Federal regulations and THAT (a growing mountain of regulations) has a stifling effect on the sustainable growth of an economy. Understand that our view of what is "sustainable" has been far too short sighted in terms of a timed analysis. For decades, this approach seemed to be working -- but by the mid-1980's, it was becoming clear that deficit spending had its limitations. Now we know that "limitations" is hardly the right word. Try something with the word "disaster" in its phraseology. California has ruined itself because of such nonsense and now the nation and the world are hard pressed to avoid its consequences. Some will disagree but not the folks at the Wall Street Journal. Obama, the pin-headed academic that he is, believes in Keynesian debt-to-riches management. The rest of the world (i.e. the G-20) is beginning to disagree . -- jds

(WSJ) Today's G-20 meeting has been advertised as a showdown between the U.S. and Europe over more spending "stimulus," and so it is. But the larger story is the end of the neo-Keynesian economic moment, and perhaps the start of a healthier policy turn.

For going on three years, the developed world's economic policy has been dominated by the revival of the old idea that vast amounts of public spending could prevent deflation, cure a recession, and ignite a new era of government-led prosperity. It hasn't turned out that way.

[1keynes]

Now the political and fiscal bills are coming due even as the U.S. and European economies are merely muddling along. The Europeans have had enough and want to swear off the sauce, while the Obama Administration wants to keep running a bar tab. So this would seem to be a good time to examine recent policy history and assess the results.

Like many bad ideas, the current Keynesian revival began under George W. Bush. Larry Summers, then a private economist, told Congress that a "timely, targeted and temporary" spending program of $150 billion was urgently needed to boost consumer "demand." Democrats who had retaken Congress adopted the idea—they love an excuse to spend—and the politically tapped-out Mr. Bush went along with $168 billion in spending and one-time tax rebates.

The cash did produce a statistical blip in GDP growth in mid-2008, but it didn't stop the financial panic and second phase of recession. So enter Stimulus II, with Mr. Summers again leading the intellectual charge, this time as President Obama's adviser and this time suggesting upwards of $500 billion. When Congress was done two months later, in February 2009, the amount was $862 billion. A pair of White House economists famously promised that this spending would keep the unemployment rate below 8%. . . READ THE FULL ARTICLE >>>

Midknight Review's editor has had a number of great friends. Jeff Mabee was one of those . Listen to him sing You Raise Me Up.

Jeff and a high plains drifter (a little Zane Grey/Clint Eastwood for you western enthusiasts) named Bill Taylor are two of the better minds this editor has enjoyed as "friend." Bill is helping in writting a Christian series called The Layman Series. Jeff passed away, last fall, but not before recording this song. He was first class, a handsome fellow and talented beyond belief. Doubt me ? Take a listen. It is being recorded as he leads the worship service at his church.

Obama's new ICE appointment is an open-borders, sanctuary cities kind of guy. Incredible.

Widow of Houston Officer Killed by Illegal Immigrant 'Shocked' at ICE Appointment

Published June 25, 2010 - a FoxNews article

| FOXNews.com

The widow of a Houston police officer killed by an illegal immigrant was "shocked" to learn that the city's former police chief has landed a top immigration job with the Obama administration, her lawyer told FoxNews.com on Friday.

That's because Joslyn Johnson, whose husband, Rodney Johnson, was killed in 2006, is suing former Houston Police Chief Harold Hurtt for failing to enforce federal immigration laws. She claims her husband would be alive today if the city had bothered to check up on the gunman's immigration status.

Now that Hurtt is taking a job to oversee partnerships between federal and local officials with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Johnson -- and other critics -- say they're concerned the official who resisted immigration enforcement in Houston will now be in charge of promoting it.

"She was shocked at the irony," Johnson's attorney, Ben Dominguez, said.

As a police chief, Hurtt was a supporter of "sanctuary city" policies, by which illegal immigrants who don't commit crimes can live without fear of exposure or detainment because police don't check for immigration papers. During his tenure as Houston police chief, he criticized ICE's key program that draws on local law enforcement's support. He said in 2008 that local police "don't want to be immigration officers." He described that as a burden on the force. READ MORE >>>>>

Amnesty is the name of this game.
.

Midknight Review offers eight areas of concern in need of Congressional revision.

Editor's notes: understand that Obama is not a dictator, but he often functions as if he were. The problem? Certainly it is Obama but more than that, it is the system of presidential powers that has been allowed to increase over the years. Among the first order(s) of business with the 112th Congress (taking office on January 20th) is a review and a revision of presidential authority.

1. Czars: If the appointment of "czars" is allowed to continue, the number and job description must be authorized by [at least] the Senate. As it stands, now, Obama has nearly 50 czars, folks appointed by him and without Congressional approval. As "czars," they are considered to be presidential staff and are not subject to subpoena or Congressional review at any level.

2. Executive Order: the fact that it is entirely possible, apparently and according to recent news reporting, for Obama to give amnesty to 12 million illegal aliens is evidence of a president who is out of control. We need to limit executive order and use the threat of impeachment when those rules are violated. Because of Obama, we now know that a true "dictatorship" is possible via a creative president using the powers that are allowed to him, the executive privilege given to his position, the complicity of a Marxist oriented free press and the regulatory powers of Federal agencies such as the EPA, the FCC, the FTC, and NEA (look for definitions at end of article), to name a few, under his control.

3. Presidential time in office: the two term limit for a sitting president is the result of the 22nd amendment to the Constitution -- making it much more difficult for a dictator minded individual to become just that, a long term dictator. Congress needs to review this amendment with a view of ensuring its continuation. There must never be a short-circuited legislative reversal to this amendment.

The socialist, FDR, was elected to four presidential terms - the only president in American history to serve more than two terms. With all the talk of how the American people loved this guy, it is curious that immediately after his time in office, the 22nd amendment was proposed, passed and ratified by the several states - a process that took 4 years (1947 to February of 1951) .

4. Proof of Citizenship: since the free press has abdicated it's self-appoint responsibility to fully vett presidential candidates, the qualifying issues of age and citizenship should become a matter of a mandated evidential procedure of some sort. When folks asking for proof of age or citizenship are regarded as "wacko's," it is time for Congressional mandates on the issue.

5. "Treason" needs to be defined and enforced or officially disregarded.

6. GITMO needs to be continued and modified to meet current practical and populace demands. The detention center cannot be closed. From time to time, we will capture foreign enemies, hell bent on killing Americans, who cannot be tried in a civilian court of law for reasons of national security. Understand that the Supreme Court allows for such a circumstance. We need to aggressively pursue a revitalization of the use of GITMO or a similar institution.

7. Powers of a Lame Duck Congress: under no circumstance should a lame duck congress be allowed to legislate new laws introduced after mid-term and presidential elections. If particular issues have not be formally introduced into the legislative debate well before a congressional/presidential election, they should not be allowed to be presented in the time following those elections and the last day of that congresses activities (January 19th following the specific election. The work of a lame duck Congress should be limited to the completion of legislation already introduced. If nothing else, all legislation introduced and/or passed by a lame duck congress must be reviewed by the new congress.

Tom Harken , a Marxist leaning Senator from Iowa, wants to use the lame duck Congress to pass the "card check" that would allow unions to take over factories, shops and companies without a secret ballot vote. This should not be allowed as a matter of law.

Understand that a new congress comes into power every two years -- after the so-called 'midterms' and, again, after the presidential election.

8. 5 Day review: all written legislation must be posted to the Internet for at least 5 working days (not including the weekends). If our politicians refuse to read the laws they pass, certainly the people those laws will govern should.

End notes: EPA - Environmental Protection Agency; FCC = Federal Communications Commission; FTC = Federal Trade Commission; NEA = National Education Agency.

Finally, a first story about parents critical of Obama's rules of engagement, rules that killed their son.

Editor's notes: we have carried a theme since the beginnings of Midknight Review, back in mid-2008 -- that theme was/is this: if you are a parent, do not let your son or daughter fight for Obama. He will get them killed and then retreat. Whether or not he is coward, he plans his war as if he were a coward.

In Afghanistan, the troops have to mirandize their captures or turn them over to the Afghan authorities. They cannot waterboard for information but drones can kill the enemy, their familes and those who live in the neighboring area. Our troops under fire cannot call for air strikes if civilians will be killed. They are not allowed to shot first in any engagement. In other words, they can catch the enemy "off guard" but cannot take advantage of that surprise-attack circumstance -- but their Commander, again, can order a surprise attack by drone and all is well. Our troops cannot take a combatant into custody if he has no gun. In a situation where the enemy has retreated into a home and comes back outside that house BUT without his gun, we have to let him walk away. If one, two, three of our troops are caught in an ambush of some sort, they cannot return fire until they actually have an order to fire.

McChrystal was an Obama supporter, voted for him, hates FoxNews

What most people do not know about the McChrystal incident is this: General McChrystal is a political liberal who voted for Obama and will not allow FoxNews to be aired in his offices. If you are Obama and you have General McChrystal turning against you, well, that says volumes about the your ideas concerning waging war.

Here is the article by a local reporter, Beth Wurtmann , that brought us to this post. It is a brief expose' about parents who believe Obama's rules of engagement are partly responsible for their son's death in Afghanistan.

LAKE GEORGE - The parents of Army soldier Benjamin Osborn said Thursday that U.S. Bill and Beverly Osborn say that new military rules of engagement are making soldiers on the ground more vulnerable to attack, including they say, in the final battle that took their son's life.

"They were ambushed they were under attack and they couldn't fire until they were ordered to do so," Ben's father Bill Osborn said.

Wearing black armbands, a gold star pin, and grief fresh from burying their son, Bill and Beverly Osborn are speaking out about the circumstances of their son's death.

"Ben said that the tactics were wrong. There's one long road to bring supplies in. The Taliban's up there shooting down at them and they have to shoot up," Beverly Osborn said.

It comes as the family welcomed friends to a celebration of Ben's life, with his wife of only five months comforted at the event.

But amid their grief, his parents also questioned whether new military rules of engagement put their son's unit at risk, by restricting use of firepower and the ability to call for backup, a strategy designed to minimize civilian casualties.

"The rules of engagement have put our son at risk and everyone that's over there," Bill Osborn said.

"They are laughing at us. The Taliban is laughing at us," said Beverly Osborn.

The Osborns support General Stanley McChrystal, who was just forced to resign after openly criticizing the Administration's strategy. Instead, these parents laid blame at the President's feet. READ MORE >>>>

From News Busters. There is some funny stuff in this one.

Think we are way off base in our opposition to Barack Hussein Obama? Maybe you should read this

For Saturday morning's reader

You tell us what he meant by this and whether or not you think any other president would have ever made this statement:

On July 2, 2008, Obama had this to say: "We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

You can hear him say these very words at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df2p6867_pw You should know that by July 16, the written text of this speech deleted the words in red. Why the deletion? Isn't that obvious. With that deletion, he began the habit of deceit and lies and he gathered power and popularity.

Also understand that these words were spoken to a cheering crowd. We claim that not one person in that crowd, not a single person, had a clue as to the meaning of these words. In fact, we still do not know -- except that they are not the words of a traditional patriot. --- jds.

update: we should add this quote by Michelle Obama:

Posted on Thursday, December 17, 2009 6:17:40 PM by opentalk "Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we're going to have to change our traditions, our history; we're going to have to move into a different place as a nation."

Understand that an angry Black's history is not that of traditionalist America. Blacks were brought to this country against their will and regarded as animals or "non-humans" for decades. Thoughtful Blacks know that millions of early Americans did not agree with the treatment of black slaves, that a war was fought and thousands of whites died to free the black man, that preferences have been made - all in an effort to right this wrong. Still, there remain angry Blacks such as Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Barack Obama (go ahead and tell me he is not an angry man).

He is the first president we have elected who does not believe in our early history nor shares the same values as the Founding Fathers. --- jds

Elena Kagan is the reason by the Old Guard of the GOP needs to be gone.

For Saturday morning's readers
This woman is anti-free and unqualified speech. Watch the Old Old GOP guard cave in and give her a pass. SHE is the reason why the work of taking back the Republican Party is far from being over.
Apparently someone has just walked by eating a donut.

Editor's notes:
understand that Elena Kagan is a judicial activist who has never serveda day as a judge - not even as a traffic court justice. She is an ideologue/academic associate of Obama's from the University of Chicago. She believes that protected speech must be qualified as to purpose and truth, that judges should be about the revision of established precedent.

Supreme Court nominee Solicitor General Elena Kagan meets and greets senators on Thursday, May 13, 2010.(AP Photo/Alex Brandon)
(CNSNews.com) – Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan named as her “judicial hero” an Israeli Supreme Court Justice, Aharon Barak, who said the role of a judge was to “create [a] new understanding of law.”

Kagan made her “judicial hero” comment at a September 2006 ceremony at Harvard Law School where Barak was presented with a judicial prize. Kagan, dean of the law school at the time, praised Barak.

“The Harvard Law School association of which I’m most proud is the one we have with President Barak,” Kagan said. “I told President Barak, and I want to repeat in public, that he is my judicial hero.

“He is the judge or justice in my lifetime whom I think best represents and has best advanced the values of democracy and human rights, of the rule of law and of justice,” said Kagan. DEFINITELY READ THE FULL ARTICLE >>>>

Another great reason why Midknight Review does not use the Washington Post for a news source - it simply is not a real news source. Here's proof.

Intended for Saturday morning's reader

Editor's notes:
the is exactly why conservatives cannot trust the so-called "major media." Nothing but crooks and liars. Understand that Weigel covered the conservative court because the Washington Post refused to allow a real conservative to do so.

What is rather humorous is the fact that Ezra Klien, a fellow liberal, leaked the story.
These guys are mindless ideologues willing to eat their own for a few bucks but never
willing to practice fairness when it comes to the coverage of the patriots in defense
of their country.
.

Recommended reading from the pen of Thomas Sowell - economist and patriot.

Intended for Saturday morning's reader

Editor's notes:
Sarah Palin read this piece and recommended it. The Hill pretends the article equates Obama to Hitler -- mano a mano - when, in point of fact, Sowell sees a similarity between Hitler's misuse of national law and Obama's practice of doing precisely the same thing --------- the article is about the comparison of issues, not personalites. But leave it to The Hill, a liberal leaning news outlet, to misunderstand Sowell's message. Who knows, maybe they did understand and decided to defeat Sowell's point by lying about it. You read, you decide ----- jds.

Is U.S. Now On Slippery Slope To Tyranny?

And, without constitutional government, freedom cannot endure. There will always be a "crisis" — which, as the president's chief of staff has said, cannot be allowed to "go to waste" as an opportunity to expand the government's power. . . . . .

When Franklin D. Roosevelt arbitrarily took the United States off the gold standard, he cited a law passed during the First World War to prevent trading with the country's wartime enemies. . . during the worldwide Great Depression, the German Reichstag passed a law "for the relief of the German people."

That law gave Hitler dictatorial powers that were used for things going far beyond the relief of the German people . . . . The man appointed by President Obama to dispense BP's money as the administration sees fit, to whomever it sees fit, is only the latest in a long line of presidentially appointed "czars" controlling different parts of the economy, without even having to be confirmed by the Senate, as Cabinet members are.

Those who cannot see beyond the immediate events to the issues of arbitrary power — vs. the rule of law and the preservation of freedom — are the "useful idiots" of our time. But useful to whom? READ THE FULL ARTICLE >>>>

______________________

In an article we wrote on June 14, we made the point that consevatives are better informed than liberals by a margin of 2 to 1 -- according to Zogby polling. The folks at The Hill prove our point.

Read:

There is more pressure on Democrats than most people know. The nation has spoken and said, "The Dems are too liberal."

Monday's big story of the day was completely ignored by the Minion Media

Editor's notes: On Monday, a total of 87 Senators signed and presented a letter to President Obama affirming their support for Israel. In the letter, they encouraged Obama to partner with them in showing support for the besieged nation. A similar letter was circulated in the House. At last report, the letter had 310 signatures. Understand that there are 100 Senators and 435 Representatives.

The support for Israel is both bi-partisan and substantial. Many congressmen on both sides of the aisle have expressed concern for the direction or misdirection Obama has taken over the course of the past year with regard to Israel. He has allocated 1.3 billion dollars to Hamas in Gaza in two gifts. He has publicly snubbed Netanyahu, refused a recent "photo-opt" with the Prime Minister, and has yet to step foot in Israel since his election. In fact, he is working behind the scenes to rid Israel of its nuclear capability while doing absolutely nothing -- in a meaningful way -- to keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of Iran.

A critically important story but with no mention in the evening televised Minion Media.

When you hear the comment, "We are a center right nation," here is the reason why.

Editor's notes: even after the '08 election, the nation remained a "centered right" country. By that we mean to reference a Gallup poll, taken year after year, showing the nation sitting at a typical percentage of 38% "conservative" and 17% "liberal. This is perhaps the most consistent set of polling numbers in American polling results. The numbers do not vary more than 5 points from either demarcation. Understand that this result concerns itself with folks identifying with "conservative" and "liberal" without regard to party affiliation. The most recent finding equals 42% conservative and 19% liberal. If you follow our link back to the original text, the story found there seems to imply this circumstance to be rather recent instead of the 50 year pattern that it is. Approximately 40% of those polled are "moderates" or folks who have no preference. Liberals win elections on the occasions their campaign message appeals to the moderate voter and those who are rather dispassionate conservatives. We make note that the Gallup poll is only 20 years old but other polling firms have taken this measure for decades. What is note worthy is the fact that this particular poll shows "conservatives" outnumbering the uncommitted for the first time, by a point or two.

by Lydia Saad

PRINCETON, NJ -- Conservatives have maintained their leading position among U.S. ideological groups in the first half of 2010. Gallup finds 42% of Americans describing themselves as either very conservative or conservative. This is up slightly from the 40% seen for all of 2009 and contrasts with the 20% calling themselves liberal or very liberal.

Political Ideology -- 2010 Half-Year Update (1992-2010 Trend)

The 2010 results are based on eight Gallup and USA Today/Gallup surveys conducted from January through June, encompassing interviews with more than 8,000 U.S. adults. The 42% identifying as conservative represents a continuation of the slight but statistically significant edge conservatives achieved over moderates in 2009. Should that figure hold for all of 2010, it would represent the highest annual percentage identifying as conservative in Gallup's history of measuring ideology with this wording, dating to 1992.

The recent rise in conservatism's fortunes follows a decline seen after 2003; liberalism has experienced the opposite pattern. From 1993 to 2002, the ideological trend had been fairly stable, with roughly 40% identifying as moderate, 38% as conservative, and 19% as liberal. Before that, the presidential bid of independent candidate Ross Perot may have contributed to a heightened proportion of Americans (43%) calling themselves moderate in 1992. READ MORE >>>>>

The Socialist, Tom Harken, is calling for the lame duck Congress to violate the will of the people and take down the secret union ballot.

Yesterday, Senator Tom Harken (D-Iowa), suggested that the Socialist Democrats should move to legislate "card check" after they have lost the November elections but before they are escorted out of town on January 20th, 2011. That is what he thinks of the "will of the people."

The proposed legislation in question is called The Employees Free Choice Act. Currently, it is as dead as my first marriage. Understand that "card check," should it become the law of the land, would allow a union representative to enter a shop or factory, ask each and every worker in that shop to read and sign a card stating their preference for unionization and when he gets one card in the majority, the shop automatically becomes unionized . . . . . . no election, no secret ballot, just 6foot 8inch Bruno carrying a set of cards around the factory asking, "Hey, yous, I tink you should sign this card. Tanks."

Anyone every heard of George McGovern? One of the most liberal congressional figures to ever run for President ? Even he stated his opposition to this law. It is blatantly anti-Constitutional and gives entirely too much power to union organizers. Midknight Review does not believe this bill has a chance. Maybe an email or two is in the offering. -- jds.

Rand Paul is not a politician. He is a doctor running for office. Good for him. Forget the politicians.

Editor's notes: in a story written for and found in the Left leaning The Hill, we have the news of Rand Paul calling for a Consitutional amendment dealing with children born in the country to parents who are illegally in this country. This is an election year and Paul is a leading contender in the race for Senator in Kentucky. to Leave it to the Lefties to make a big deal out of this - to brand Paul as some kind of evil Hitler type. He is a libertarian/Republican. As you read the article, ask yourself this: what is wrong in questioning the matter in the courts. What is wrong with seeking an amendment (talking about the process). Personally, this editor believes that such an amendment would not be approved but, certainly, there is nothing wrong in trying.

THE HILL by M. O'Brien: Kentucky GOP Senate candidate Rand Paul said Thursday he would support amending the Constitution to deny automatic citizenship to children born in the United States.

Paul, the libertarian Republican nominee for the Senate who's also the son of Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), said courts should review the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees citizenship to "all persons born or naturalized in the United States," to determine whether or not it should apply to the children of illegal immigrants.

If those court challenges fail, Paul said in an interview with the conservative blog Right Wing News, then he would support an amendment that would have the effect of denying citizenship to children of illegal immigrants who are born in the U.S.

"But the 14th amendment actually says that you will be a citizen as long as you are under the jurisdiction of the United States," Paul said. "Many argue that these children that are born to illegal aliens are really still under the jurisdiction of the Mexican government."

"I think we need to fight that out in the courts," he added. "If we lose, then I think we should amend the Constitution because I don't think the 14th amendment was meant to apply to illegal aliens. It was meant to apply to the children of slaves." READ THE FULL ARTICLE >>>>>

More notes: understand that the amendment process includes a 2/3 vote in both the Senate and the House and a ratification process that requires the approval of 3/4 of the states. . . . . . . . . ain't going to happen with this issue. What the readership must know is this: the Left only uses "constitutional law" to further their anti-constitutional agenda. They really do not care about representative government, the will of the people, or the Constitution as framed by the Founding Fathers. The past 17 months has proven this to be true.

Here is what we DID NOT report on this week.

Here is a list of stories for the week, we did not cover or give comment:

1. Fat Al Gore's sex scandal and divorce. We do not care about this godless seminary drop out.

2. The Blago trial. Unless and until that trial reveals fraud within the Obama camp, we see this as a nothing . . . ..........story having no effect on our lives.

3. Anything about Arnold Schwarzenegger.

4. Gossip about Sharron Angle.

5. Anything about Sarah Palin being "toxic." These morons don't know a classy babe if one ran them over with ..........a SUV on the way to a turkey shoot.

6. Anything about Joe Biden - one of the most insignificant VP's in the last 40 years.

7. Anything about Paul McCartney

8. Anything about third world LA City mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa.

9. The whereabouts of Bill Clinton or Hillary, for that matter.

10. The rumor that Hillary might be Obama's next VP.

11. The change of chief counsel in the Justice Department.

Note: all these were in the news, this week. None of them carry any serious meaning for our readership. --- jds.

I have supported the NRA for years but they betrayed my trust and now, I have no love left for this bunch of ex-patriots.

Over at the Socialist/Marxist NPR, they put out this headline:

NRA Agrees To Let Campaign Finance Bill Pass

Over the past two days, this headline has been everywhere. We (Midknight Review) did not "go" with the story until now simply because we did not know what do about its report. We are big-time NRA supporters. Have been for years. In fact, we just bought a 37 M Ithaca 12 gauge shotgun with a 5 slug chamber and an 18 inch barrel. It is strictly a home defense weapon. It is pump action, of course. Its beauty is found in the fact that I can pull the trigger, leave it depressed and fire the gun as fast as I am pump the action. Can anyone say "swiss cheese?"

Anyway -- what to do about the NRA? Understand that the bill they offered to support, the Campaign Finance Reform Act, is all about limiting the free speech of corporations. Obama gave the NRA an exemption for their support . . . . . so these clowns "caved in" and went with the one individual who promises to do them more harm than any recent president.

I am thinking that I am going to quit the organization until and unless I get a hand-written, personal apology. Seriously. Will they do it? Of course not. Will I be relentless in my opposition to them on this blog and elsewhere ----------------------------- Ooooooooooooooooooooh, you betcha !!
.

The Obama minions at NBC finally produce a poll showing Obama's increasingly unpopular position.

In a NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, released this afternoon, a startling 62% of the American people believe this country is headed in the wrong direction !! The real story in this is the fact that this number is lower than any time during the Bush Administration.

Only 33% believe the economy will improve by the middle of 2011, down from 40% a month ago.

With regard to Obama's performance, the numbers may be even more unnerving for the capitalized Marxist in our White House. 17% of Democrats are disapproving of his performance. For the first time in this NBC poll, Obama's disapproval numbers are greater than his approval percentages. Only 40% think he is effective in handling a crisis, a number that is down 11 points since the first of the year -- a huge drop in confidence. . . . . . . . Understand that this is a NBC poll - thoroughly in the tank for Obama and the last of the "major" polls to demonstrate his declining popularity.

Another Lefty threatens harm to the opposition. What is it with these people. Years ago, the KKK was run by the Democrats of the South.

Editor's notes: they are at it again - Lefties threatening to harm or kill someone. How many such incidences have we seen since Obama, the community organizer, took office ?? This time, it involves the judge who reversed Obama's order to freeze drilling the Gulf. Midknight Review has not been able to document a single account of a conservative attacking or harming those who oppose. Not the case for the Left. Beat downs and outright murder have been part of their M.O. In this case, no doub, t we are looking at an environmental wacko, not intent on killing we think, but certainly willing to scare people into thinking that he might. Disagree? You say, "Prove it !!" And we say, "First, SOMEONE threatened the judge. Secondly, we know that the Lefties do not recognize the "rule of law" when it comes to the prosecution of their agenda - neither the president or his minions. Thirdly, this is an environmental defeat and those folks burn cars and who subdivisions. Finally, someone has to save the world - there was that Sheehan woman and then, Pelsoi and now -- some environmental wacko. Proof ?? Naaa. But good enough for this rather intellectually superior conservative ? Oooooooooooooooh, you betcha !!!!

Right after he issued the ruling, Feldman came under attack as a tool of the oil industry. Media outlets reporters noted that the Judge held stock in oil and gas companies and implied that his decision was based on his own personal financial considerations. Such a personal attack is unfair and completely unwarranted, especially for Feldman, a distinguished judge known for his commitment to the law and a jurist who has earned the praise of people throughout the legal community. . . . .
