My prior income, bottom line, was "gross income" minus the $12,000 standard deduction, minus approximately $9,000 in deducts. In 2019, my bottom line (my taxable income) will be my gross minus $24,000. Benefit in my case: My taxable income will be $3000 less than in 2018. Too bad I don't have minor children. The benefit would be $5,000 less in taxable income with two minor children (we had five).
If the GOP plays this up, the tax bill will be a huge winner for Trump and the GOP in 2020.

Before Bush, we took land for highways, bridges, etc. After Bush, property was taken and given to corporations who then built huge factories and warehouse centers. Property tax revenues increased many times over as the government "condemned" large ranch properties as "unsustainable." He was not a friend of the common man any more than Barack was, and now he is gone.
They will sing his praise, but in my house, there will be scarcely a mention of his name.
