A Socialist/Progressive thinks that capitalism is represented when an Imperial Presidency tells others what they must buy "for their own good." See the video - a contentious confrontation between Megyn Kelly and Rep F Pallone.

Rep. Frank Pallone: The bottom line is if you’re selling a lousy policy with a price that’s too high nobody’s going to buy it. So they’re cancelling these policies because they know people won’t buy them.
Megyn Kelly: But they were buying them. They were buying them. 15 million people who bought them and said “I like them”, Mr. Pallone.
Pallone: They’re not going to buy them anymore when they have a better alternative.
Kelly: Thanks to you!… Why do you get to decide what’s lousy?
Pallone: It’s capitalism.
Funny.  This Socialist clown thinks "capitalism" is expressed when Central Planning,  comrades, gets to tell others what they need,  how much they can pay for it,  and why their existing policies are not longer allowed.  Sounds like an imperial presidency to me,  but what do we all know about the beginnings a "rule by dictator?"

You know things are good for Sarah Palin when CNN pays tribute to her political clout.

(From CNN)  "She is the most important endorsement in Republican politics today, by far," said Sal Russo, a Republican consultant who co-founded the Tea Party Express, a group that has booked Palin to speak at numerous public events dating back to the 2010 midterm cycle. "She can move the needle in a primary more than anyone else can."  . . . . .

Given the tea party's toxic national brand -- only 31% of Americans had a favorable view of the conservative movement in a recent CNN poll -- Palin's sway is almost certainly limited to Republican primaries . . . . .  Still, Palin continues to wield great influence among grassroots conservatives, Trost argued, especially in Republican primaries in right-leaning states like Nebraska, where winning a primary all-but-guarantees a general election victory over token Democratic opposition. . . . . . . . .

"People forget about this sometimes, but because Sarah Palin has a child with Down syndrome, a lot of people in the pro-life community view her as not just talking the talk about pro-life but walking the walk," Trost said. "Social issues play a big factor in a low turnout Republican primary."

At the same time, Palin is now aligning herself with members of the tea party's uncompromising new guard, especially Cruz, who has made plain his distaste for old bull Senate leadership.

Palin's relationship with Cruz dates to last year, when she endorsed him during his underdog Republican primary bid in 2012. It was Cruz who introduced Palin when she spoke at CPAC in March.

During the shutdown, Palin and her husband Todd traveled to Washington to appear with Cruz and Lee at a rally to re-open the temporarily shuttered World War II memorial.

The conservative quartet later joined up with Cruz's wife for lunch at Hill Country Barbecue, a casual downtown Washington restaurant known for its brisket.

Chip Roy, Cruz's chief-of-staff, said Palin and the senator were often in communication during the shutdown, he said he expects their back-and-forth to continue into the midterm cycle.

"There is enormous respect between the two, and there is increasing communication between the offices," Roy told CNN. "As the year has progressed, I think Palin has been pretty simpatico with what Sen. Cruz and Sen. Lee have been trying to accomplish over the last year, fighting these debates, talking to the American people and challenging the status quo."

While there is much that is not accurate in this piece,  still,  the over-all push from the CNN Lefties is good.  They may not care for her politics,  but she has completely dispelled the opinion that she is a "here today,  gone tomorrow, phenom." ~ editor

You should know that under ObamaCare, every man in that system (aren't we all?) has to pay for maternity leave. Yes, you, Woodrow, now have maternity leave thanks to our comrades at Central Planning.

Inflation Report, part 1 of 2 - Inflation reporting is the biggest game in town and it is all played on the backs of seniors and those in the Medicare program.

Understand that a huge cost to the Federal Government is the cost for keeping its promises to the Senior/retired citizen class.

While the Socialist/Progressives love to talk about the "raging successes" of Medicare and Social Security,  such is true ONLY if no one considers the actual cost of those programs.

Social Security is more than 17 trillion in debt to itself (no - most of the money you receive via SS was NOT taken out of your paycheck - it is an entitlement in every sense of the word);  Medicare payouts are 42 trillion in the hole.  As a result,  the pressure is on Central Planning,  comrade,  to lie to the American people in a desperate effort to cut costs to these two bloated programs.

In the early 1980's the Feds stopped counting foods and fuel costs (transportation and residential).  And.  soon,  Central Planning, comrade,  with help from Establishment Republicans,  will use a newly reconfigured  Consumer Price Index to further cut its promised financial obligations to seniors and those on Medicare.  Here is a summary of what is and what is about to happen:

Consumer Price Index Has Been Reconfigured Since Early-1980s
So As to Understate Inflation versus Common Experience
  • CPI no longer measures the cost of maintaining a constant standard of living.
  • CPI no longer measures full inflation for out-of-pocket expenditures.
  • With the misused cover of academic theory, politicians forced significant underreporting of official inflation, so as to cut annual cost-of-living adjustments to Social Security, etc.
  •  Politicians look to expand further the concept of artificially-suppressed cost-of-living adjustments in current budget-deficit negotiations, through the use of the Chained-CPI (see Special C-CPI Supplement at end of this document).
  • Use of the CPI to adjust retirement benefits, private income or to set investment goals impairs the ability of retirees, income earners and investors to stay ahead of inflation.
  • Understated inflation used in estimating inflation-adjusted growth has created the illusion of recovery in reported GDP.

Inflation Report - part 2 of 2: Seniors take "it" in the rump again, as the Feds put out more bogus information on the "adjusted" inflationary rate.

<<<<<<<  since 1980, the purchasing power of the dollar has dropped from $2.84 to $1.00, in today's market place (see calculator, here).

From the AP we learn:   “Social Security benefits will rise 1.5 percent in January, giving millions of retired and disabled workers an average raise of $19 a month to keep up with the cost of living.
The increase is among the smallest since automatic adjustments were adopted in 1975, and reflects the fact that consumer prices haven't gone up much in the past year. The annual cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, is based on a government measure of inflation that was released Wednesday.”

Editor’s notes:  The unreported issue  -  and I mean to say that this issue is never properly reported – is the fact that the government’s measure of inflation does not included rising food prices, income and other other tax increases,   transportation fuel costs and the cost for residential  heating fuels,  despite the AP's assertion that food costs are considered "inflationary."    Of course,  all these items experience inflationary trends,  just as does every aspect of our daily lives.

To argue that inflation was/is “just 1.5%” is as big a lie as “if you like your insurance,  you can keep your insurance,  period.”  But who cares about the truth,  anymore?

As a result of this federal buffoonery, the first two years of Obama’s reign saw “zero” inflation and seniors on SS did not receive any increase in their monthly checks,  as a result.  Imagine,  we were in the worst recession in the history of mankind,  or so we were being told,  and inflation was “zero.”

And today,  we learn that inflation for 2013 was only 1.5%.  That,  in spite of the AP stated fact that housing costs increased 2.5%.  Transportation fuel prices decreased by just $0.25 cents per gallon,  most of which took place in the last two months of this reported period.  Understand that Cost of Living surveys are only taken in July, August and September – the only months in which gas decreased in costs.  Residential fuels,  however,  have increased, by all reports.  No fixed estimate has been given,  however,  since no one in government wants to admit that residential heating fuels add to inflationary pressure.

The AP article referenced above,  also, states that the Cost of Living Averages has been under 2% only 7 times since mid-1970.  You should know that 3 of those seven years (2010, 2011 and 2013) have been under the Obama Regime.  What is important in this fact,  is this:  In [falsely] declaring inflation to be at zero,  two years running (2010 and 2011) ,  Obama cut all increases to Seniors and saved billions in Social Security payouts. His 2013 estimates,  the third lowest in history,  also works to increase revenues for his spending programs.

Point of post:  While inflation reports are good for the feds,  they are based on a monstrous lie and a disaster for those who receive benefits via SS and Medicare.  Understand that even in retirement,  seniors pay taxes on their benefit payments.  Anyone know what the tax increase to seniors has been,  over the past several years?  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  .  I didn’t think so.

Even the 15 state exchanges doing their own thing with ObamaCare, sign-ups are far from being in line with Administration goals.

From Adisory.com,  we have these end of month facts: only 318,000 made application in the 15 state exchanges managing their own Medicare exchanges;  only 150,033 succeeded in enrolling in a particular plan, or,  10,000 folks per state,  as an average.

How many people have enrolled in the Obamacare exchanges?

October 25, 2013

Is the date on the top of the page not matching the graphics below? Reload the page or clear your browser's cache to see our most current tally.
The Daily Briefing team has continued to tabulate early enrollment data from the state-based exchanges (SBEs).
A few key notes to read the chart below:
  • Accounts: This tracks all accounts that have been created in the state.
  • Total applicants: This refers to the total number of applicants included on completed applications through each exchange, a change from our initial decision to list the total number of applications. (We made the change because of considerable inconsistency across the states, in how they were reporting applications.) Our current figure includes individuals who have applied for a qualified health plan or Medicaid; because of the lack of state data, we've cited many of these data points as minimum values.
  • People who picked a plan/enrolled: This refers to the individual number of people who have picked a plan, although they may not yet have paid their first month's premium to complete the process. Again, this figure includes individuals who have picked a qualified health plan or enrolled in new Medicaid coverage, with Medicaid enrollees representing a disproportionate percentage of sign-ups so far.
Through data compiled October 30: Based on the numbers that states are choosing to share, we counted at least 150,033 people who had successfully picked a plan or enrolled in Medicaid coverage through the 15 state-based exchanges. And including those folks, at least 389,153 people had applied for coverage, too.

A strategy for ObamaCare compliance that will save you thousands of dollars

ObamaCare - a little advice for you younger types (this is not a rant).

Understand that if your co-pays are double what it used to be and if your deductibles are 2500 to 5000 per year, this bunch of Big Government types have given you a policy that you will almost never use - - - it is really little more than crisis insurance.

So why not do this: pay the fine -- that makes you legal -- and do not sign up for the insurance. You will always save money on the monthly bill, your fine will always be less. Your co-pays per year will not come close to your monthly bill, if you and your family are reasonably healthy (which is not the same as being reasonable and healthy).

When you get sick, seriously sick with heart disease or cancer, just go down and sign up, since pre-existing conditions are no longer excluded. Or,  go ahead and pay out all that monthly money for nothing. Pencil it out and compare it all to your monthly ObamaCare bill, and ask yourself this: If I can wait until I am seriously ill, why not stay out of the system until I need it ?????

Your choice.

It took the Socialist/Progressives more than three weeks to come up with rhetorical angle.

DNC Chief Wasserman Schultz: People Aren’t Losing Their Health Insurance Under Obamacare, They’re “Transitioning”…

Understand this:  "Transitioning"  is something you do for yourself;  it is something that is done to whatever is existing;  and it is does not include changes that are forced on you because of law  -  that is called "compliance."

"Transitioning" is NOT opening your mail only to find out that your insurance policy (in this case) has been terminated effective on such and such a date;  transitioning is NOT ordering your decisions and forcing you to pay more for a replacement policy;  transitioning is NOT a process, therefore,  that moves you from one policy to another and different policy.  This last circumstance is actually called a "replacement" policy.

If you own a older vehicle,  you can either replace the engine and transition that same vehicle into a faster or more economic form of transportation,  or you can replace it.  The two actions are not the same.

We are forced to comply with the new law and,  in time, must replace our present policies with those that have more coverage than most of us need,  at a price that most will find repressive, with co-pays that are 50% higher than what we now pay on policies with deductibles that keep most from using their policies.  It is crisis insurance and nothing more.

Representative Mike Rogers, one of a few Republicans who asked all the right questions. Take 5 minutes to listen to this video.

Note to insurance companies: If you sleep with the Devil, you will have hell to pay for your penitence.

Here are the opening comments in an article found at Bloomberg.com.

Allowing Americans more time to enroll for health coverage under Obamacare may raise premiums and cut into profits, insurers are telling members of Congress in a bid to stop such a move.    Extending the enrollment period would have a “destabilizing effect on insurance markets,” said Robert Zirkelbach, a spokesman for the Washington-based lobbyist group American’s Health Insurance Plans. Allowing younger, healthy Americans to sign up later, as they probably would, means less revenue for insurers counting on those premiums to help defray the cost of sicker customers, threatening industry profits.   “If you can enroll at any point in the year, then you can just wait until you get sick,” Brian Wright, an analyst with Monness Crespi Hardt in New York, said in a telephone interview. “This isn’t the industry crying foul and exaggerating the issue, this is actually one of those issues where there is a well-grounded reason for the concerns.”

My thinking?  I could not care less for the grievances of those who have climbed in bed with Obama and his Socialist/Progressive regime.  And to think that their chief complaint with extending the sign-up period is this:  “If you can enroll at any point in the year, then you can just wait until you get sick,”

Excuse me,  but ObamaCare was built on the premise that there should be no restrictions on pre-existing conditions,  or is that a lie,  also?  If pre-existing conditions are no longer regulated or excluded, the healthy young can wait (and pay their fines) as long as they choose,  before signing up. These [insurance] clowns did not see this coming ??????

Guess the Insurance Industry should have stood its  ground back in the days when it made a difference,  instead of caving in to a strategy they thought would preserve their bottom line.

Turns out,  in due time,  this industry will be history.  Obama has already stuck the knockout punch.  They  -  the insurance companies – are simply staggering around the ring before they fail  complete defeat.

Understand that the words of Obama are the words of the New Socialist/Progressive Party (aka Democrat Party) . They were deliberate, unequivocal and intentionally misleading . . . . . . period.

Know this: he intended this statement to be the end of the debate.  He intended his wording to be unequivocal and in that effort,  his words have proven to be deliberate lies,  told to the American people over and over again.

Just to be clear: Obama threatens insurance to bring them into "compliance" and then, blames them for changes they make to their policies.

His broken promise,  "You can keep your insurance,  NO MATTTER WHAT," is no one's fault but Obama's despite his concerted effort to make it appear otherwise.  Problem - folks have video's and memories and trust that should not be violated over and over and over and over and over and over . . . . . . . . .

The death of the teaparty grassroots movement is greatly overrated. Here is proof:

Tuesday, October 29, 2013,  from Rasmussen Reports.

Voters are evenly divided when asked whether they agree more politically with President Obama or with the average member of the Tea Party. But an enormous partisan gap colors virtually all opinions of the Tea Party.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 42% of Likely U.S. Voters think the president’s views are closest to their own when it comes to the major issues facing the country. But just as many (42%) say their views come closest to those of the average Tea Party member instead. Sixteen percent (16%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

This marks a small setback for the Tea Party from April 2010 when 48% felt closest to the average Tea Party member, while 44% said they had more in common with the president

Thirty-four percent (34%) now believe their personal views are closest to those of the average member of Congress when it comes to the major issues of the day. But slightly more (36%) say their views are closest to those of the average member of the Tea Party. A sizable 30%, however, are not sure.  . . . .   read the full analysis here.

An open letter to McCain.

<<<<  McCain -  he and his true allies on the Left and,  to think,  many of us voted for this piece of work.

Mr McCain:

This statement "But there are a number of members of Congress who have primaries and when those primaries are done, they may be more inclined to address the issue of comprehensive immigration reform"* demonstrates the degree to which hypocrisy works in your political life,  as a matter demonstrable policy.

And while you rant and rave about Ted Cruz,  there are those of us who know that your pro-ObamaCare vote during the so-called "shutdown crisis" was a minority vote within the GOP,  that Cruz stood with 162 other Republicans (in both houses of congress) while you stood with 116.

No one has done the GOP more harm than you,  with your feckless and benign campaign in 2008.

More importantly, you have done nothing about the Benghazi murders and pretend that Obama's "rules of engagement" are not killing our soldiers  -  the deaths of the 17 Navy Seals as their helicopter was shot down while our gun ships watched but did nothing,  is a perfect example of the current policy regarding rules of engagement,  and demonstrates how convoluted your moral values are.  You are no military hero in my book.

Go ahead and make another run for President and see what happens.  You are more despised that you apparently understand.  Jerk.  And to think that I voted for you.

The Brits just abandoned their 10 year effort at developing a Central Health Data Base. Too bad Obama thinks he can do it better:

<<<   Logo for Britain's National Health Services [failed] program.

From the UK - we learn that 10 year effort at establishing a central data base for their health system has officially failed and is being abandoned:

A plan to create the world's largest single civilian computer system linking all parts of the National Health Service is to be abandoned by the Government after running up billions of pounds in bills. Ministers are expected to announce next month that they are scrapping a central part of the much-delayed and hugely controversial 10-year National Programme for IT.

Instead, local health trusts and hospitals will be allowed to develop or buy individual computer systems to suit their needs – with a much smaller central server capable of "interrogating" them to provide centralised information on patient care. News of the Government's plans comes as a damning report from a cross-party committee of MPs concludes that the £11.4bn programme had proved "beyond the capacity of the Department of Health to deliver".

The Commons Public Accounts Committee (PAC) said that, while the intention of creating a centralised database of electronic patient records was a "worthwhile aim", a huge amount of money had been wasted.
"The department has been unable to demonstrate what benefits have been delivered from the £2.7bn spent on the project so far," Margaret Hodge, chair of the PAC, said. "It should now urgently review whether it is worth continuing with the remaining elements of the care-records system. The £4.3bn which the department expects to spend might be better used to buy systems that are proven to work, that are good value for money and which deliver demonstrable benefits to the NHS." A further £4.4bn was expected to be spent on other areas of the vast IT project.

Obama declares his own incompetence but fails to understand his present-time reality.

WASHINGTON — The White House and State Department signed off on surveillance targeting phone conversations of friendly foreign leaders, current and former U.S. intelligence officials said Monday, pushing back against assertions that President Obama and his aides were unaware of the high-level eavesdropping.
Professional staff members at the National Security Agency and other U.S. intelligence agencies are angry, these officials say, believing the president has cast them adrift as he tries to distance himself from the disclosures by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden that have strained ties with close allies. . . . .   read the fullaccount here.

Editor’s notes:  You would think that this line of defense would be embarrassing to the Administration,  but,  apparently,  it does not have enough sense to understand that in making this defense,  it is admitting to its own radical incompetence.

Think about it:
Bengahzi:  “I was never fully informed about this situation.”

Fast and Furious:  “I only read about it in the papers.”

IRS Targeting Scandal:  “I had no personal knowledge that this was going on.”

Spygate:  "The president was made aware of the seriousness of this issue,  reading about it in the morning papers."

While the wording given above is not verbatum,  it captures Obama's line of defense:  "I did not know;  I found out by reading it in the papers;  I am as shocked as any of you  . . . . . . .   blah blah blah."

I raised five kids and each came up with similar excuses  . . . . . . . . . .   when they were six years old !!!

NBC first released this story, took it down and rewrote it. In the end, this article is a worse indictment of the Administration on ObamaCare than the original article. Hats off to NBC.

Here is the conclusion to the NBC news story:

“This says that when they made the promise, they knew half the people in this market outright couldn’t keep what they had and then they wrote the rules so that others couldn’t make it either,” said  Robert Laszewski, of Health Policy and Strategy Associates, a consultant who works for health industry firms. Laszewski estimates that 80 percent of those in the individual market [14 to 16 million Americans ~ blog editor] will not be able to keep their current policies and will have to buy insurance that meets requirements of the new law, which generally requires a richer package of benefits than most policies today. . . . . .

You will definitely want to read the full article found at NBC.com.    Turns out that the Ted Cruz Republicans were right,  all along;  that the shutdown as centered in the demand to repeal or delay ObamaCare was the righteous thing to do;  that RINO's such as John McCain have done nothing to solve the problem inherent in the excessive spending of this new law and its 18 new taxes.  And now,  years after the bill was signed into law  (March 23, 2010), NBC pretends to care about the truth.

I guess I should say,  "Better late than never,"  but in this case,  great damage has already been done.

Is Obama an atheist in disguise as an Episcopalian?

Author and world-renowned biologist Richard Dawkins said Friday he is confident that President Barack Obama is an atheist.    “Like many people, I’m sure that Obama is an atheist,” Dawkins said. “I’m sure Kennedy was an atheist.”    The comments were made on talk show host Bill Maher’s “Real Time” HBO program before a live studio audience. Maher is also an atheist.  . . . .  The Blaze.com
The video was taken down almost as soon as it was posted  --  no doubt per threats from the Obama Administration.  This is the second time in this single day, Monday the 28th,  that Obama has used his abusive power to cleanse the net of anything negative coming from those corporations  (You Tube and NBC News) that he controls.

______________________

We now know that Obama knew two years ago that 40 to 67 percent of all private policies would be cancelled because of the new ObamaCare law yet, he continues with the lie :

The Health Insurance Marketplace is Now Open. Enroll now in a plan that covers benefits, pre-existing conditions, and more. Oct. 1: Open Enrollment Begins. Jan. 1: Coverage Begins. Mar. 31: Open Enrollment Closes.

Health Care that Works for Americans

On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law, putting in place comprehensive reforms that improve access to affordable health coverage for everyone and protect consumers from abusive insurance company practices.
For those Americans who already have health insurance, the only changes you will see under the law are new benefits, better protections from insurance company abuses, and more value for every dollar you spend on health care. If you like your plan you can keep it and you don’t have to change a thing due to the health care law.
For the uninsured or those who don’t get their coverage through work, a key component of the Affordable Care Act will take effect on October 1, when the new Health Insurance Marketplace open for business, allowing millions of Americans to comparison shop for a variety of quality, affordable plans that best meet their health care needs.

Now, after the fact and far too late for such news to matter, the Pretend News Media changes stride and "exposes" the lies of Obama (care).

Update:  Since posting the text found at "NBC News," linked immediately below,  that network apparently was told (by the Obama Administration) to take their posting down.  Understand that the text,  below,  is a cut and paste from the NBC site as are the words found at The Daily Beast  -  verbiage taken from NBC.com.  Unless you are an editor,  you really do not know how often this sort of monkey business goes on  -  Obama's control of the whimps at NBC is as disgusting as "disgusting" gets.

From NBC News:
Buried in Obamacare regulations from July 2010 is an estimate that because of normal
turnover in the individual insurance market, “40 to 67 percent” of customers will not be able to keep their policy. And because many policies will have been changed since the key date, “the percentage of individual market policies losing grandfather status in a given year exceeds the 40 to 67 percent range.”
That means the administration knew that more than 40 to 67 percent of those in the individual market would not be able to keep their plans, even if they liked them.
Yet President Obama, who had promised in 2009, “if you like your health plan, you will be able to keep your health plan,” was still saying in 2012, “If [you] already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance.”

From the Daily Beast:

Millions Must Change Insurance Plans

Despite assurances that those content with current insurance plans could keep them after Obamacare becomes law, an estimated 50 to 75 percent of those with individual health coverage will have to replace their polices—and the Obama administration has known for three years. Sources in the Affordable Care Act say many Americans will receive a "cancellation" notice due to their policies not meeting standards of the upcoming law. The original policy stipulated policies from March 23, 2010, and on would be honored, but tweaks by the Department of Health and Human Services amended it to mandate a cancellation if any part of the policy was significantly changed after that date.

Government workers are the "entitlement segment" of the working class

(CNSNews.com) - A government worker is 38 percent more likely to be absent from work for personal reasons or illnesses than a private-sector worker, and government workers miss 50 percent more of their usual work hours as a result of such absences than do private sector workers, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. . . . .

They have more working benefits than the private sector;  it is almost impossible to fire one of them and there are too many of them,  but,  of course,  if they are not on the job as much as the private sector,  it will take more of them to complete the same amount of work as in the private sector.

Turns out, after 5 years, the man just can't get anything right.

The good news (for Obama) is that he is not the only president of these United States to authorize spying on our friends;  the really bad news is that he did authorize such activities and has greatly increased this practice  . . . .  and our friends in Germany,  France and Brazil are furious.  In fact,  no president has supervised as large a “spy operation” as is currently the practice under the Slickmeister.  And there is a big, big difference between the motivations of Obama and his predecessors:  namely,  it is Obama-policy to control all information coming out of the White House and that cannot be done unless he knows what others are thinking.

Problem:  the task of spying on everyone,  is simply to large a task to be anywhere close to effective  -  but who cares about results when you have Obama re-writing all of Central Planning.  I mean,  his plans for the Middle East look like hell;  ditto his domestic jobs policies;  ditto his environmental regulatory agenda;  ditto his demonstrative concerns for the Middle Class;  ditto his anti-gun agenda via Fast and Furious policies;  ditto his covert concerns regarding the national media;  ditto his use of the IRS in attacking opposition political groups in this country;   ditto his implementation of ObamaCare.

From The Telegraph,  because the national media still will not be honest in its Obama coverage:   President Barack Obama was dragged into the trans-Atlantic spying row after it was claimed he personally authorised the monitoring of Angela Merkel’s phone three years ago. . . . . . . .  The president allegedly allowed US intelligence to listen to calls from theGerman Chancellor’s mobile phone after he was briefed on the operation by Keith Alexander, director of the National Security Agency (NSA), in 2010.

The latest claim, reported in the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, followed reports in Der Spiegel that the surveillance of Mrs Merkel’s phone began as long ago as 2002, when she was still the opposition leader, three years before being elected Chancellor. That monitoring only ended in the weeks before Mr Obama visited Berlin in June this year, the magazine added.
Citing leaked US intelligence documents, it also reported that America conducted eavesdropping operations on the German government from a listening post at its embassy beside the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, one of more than 80 such centres worldwide.

Another 500,000 policies will be cancelled, replaced with policies that comply with ObamaCare's "one size fits all" model.

We see this type of news item almost on a daily  basis.  The Obama Administration defends itself against this and the lie it told the American people ("if you like your insurance,  you can keep it,  period  . . .  no matter what") by arguing that (a) the "losers" will still have insurance,  but the policies will have been rewritten and the premiums will have been increased (often double or triple) in addition to raising deductibles (1500 to 5000 dollars) and (b) these "losers" need to know that the dirty old insurance companies broke Obama's promise,  not Mr Honesty.  Never mind the undebatable facts that all pre-existing polices will be re-written to include all elements of the ObamaCare "one size fits all" insurance model, that most pre-existing policies will see increases,  and --  wait! there is more ! -- that Medicaid/Medicare monthly payments will be increased (as well).

No one is talking about this last bit of news (the increases in Medicare payments - no it is not "free" and no,  you never stop paying for it) but my wife and I just received notice that my Medicare payments will increase by 2.5% in the single year of 2014;  her payments will increase by 5% in the same 12 month period.  If this rate of increase continues,  my Medicare payments will be almost 8% higher than they are,  presently, my wife's 15% higher  -  all just in time for the 2016 elections.

500,000 Californians Lose Health Policies

Out of the National Review we have this account:  My wife, the syndicated San Francisco Chronicle columnist Debra J. Saunders, has learned that at least 500,000 Californians may lose their health insurance next year — and that’s a conservative estimate. From her Token Conservative blog:
According to this link as of December 2012, there were 491,977 covered lives in individual health care plans regulated by the state Department Insurance that are not grandfathered under the Affordable Care Act. (If they bought a plan after March 2010, their coverage is not grandfathered.) . . . . . . . . .
Those canceled policies will have to be replaced with Obamacare-approved insurance:
California Association of Health Plans president Pat Johnston told me that by law providers must cancel non-grandfathered individual policies. . . . . . . . .    it may well be that ”if you’re outside that subsidy range, you’re on your own.”
So much for, “If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance.” The train wreck continues.

Well, I do not feature "gossip" news, but in this case, I make an exception. Its fun to watch Palin get the best of Peirs Morgan:

"Kind of busy right now," she says as she turns down Piers Morgan,  a man desperate for a "ratings coup,"  but not as he tries to victimize Sarah Palin.

And in response to Palin's put down,   we have this unimaginative comment

Just to be clear,  Palin never said she "could see Russia from her porch."  That was in a SNL skip the Socialist?Progressive media attributed to the Governor.  To sound equally silly compared to Morgan's response,  I might say:  "Can you libs see 'truth' from your homes?"

Told you it sounds silly.

In spite of all the threats coming from the Obama administration, serious threats of prosecution and the like, CBS takes a shot at the Slickster with this 2.50 minute news blurb:

Turns out that the more disturbing news of the day,  regarding the legislative abortion we call ObamaCare,  is found in the fact that the vast majority of  "sign-ups" are by the poor, folks with very little money,  looking for free insurance coverage via Medicaid/Medicare.  Understand that Medicaid is a single-payer health care system.  ObamaCare as an insurance exchange, must have healthy folks sign up for the program or it cannot survive.  And,  as things stand today,  it will not survive if the present statistical curve continues.  All we can do is hope that there are surviving insurance companies left to pick up the pieces,  or a government run,  single payer system will be this countries only choice.

Nancy Pelosi's husband brags on the diversity within the Democrat Socialist Party, just before the campaign season begins.

Really?  A tolerance for dissent within the Democrat Party?  Only if you don't mind being stripped of your committee chairmanships,  have your business and private homes vandalized.  Only if you don't mind being publicly called every name in the book and charged with racism,  on top of it all  (i.e. Hillary during the 2008 primary season by Obama and Jeremiah Wright).  Only if you don't mind being accosted by any number of union thugs,  or sought out and prosecuted by the DOJ;  let's not forget those midnight raids on your home by Homeland Security and the FBI,  if you have been implicitly found guilty of being a whistleblower or,  in any way, voice your criticism of the current Administration, publicly.

And where are the dissenters within this party?  Seriously. Is there a high ranking party leader who disagrees on the issues of gay marriage, multiple and/or late term abortions, spending cuts, on opposing a balanced budget,  cutting back on social welfare programs,  growing Big Government and the like?  Answer:  There are no leaders within the party who differ on these issues.

The GOP,  on the other hand,  certainly has embraced diversity, both political/philosophical and ethnic.  No,  Dorthy,  the two parties are not the same.
