McConnell earns his stripes today, orchestrating his most important challenge to date.

Republicans, led by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, have also spent years blocking the confirmations of lower-level judges, leaving more unfilled judgeships in the last Congress than any time since 1952—and a huge opportunity for President Trump  . . .

Trump has appointed more federal appeals court judges than former Presidents Obama and Bush had at the same point in their administrations combined  . . . .

Trump’s total number of confirmed district court judges to 33  . . . .  after the 11 confirmed judges on are finalized at 3:45 this afteroon.

McConnell made it clear that the Senate would stay in session until 12 judges had been confirmed  . . . .  and it appears that this is exactly what is about to happen.
