I am willing to bet that many of you all have forgotten this violation of campaing finance law.

FLASHBACK: Remember When Obama Campaign Was Fined $375,000 for Campaign Reporting Violations AND NO JAIL TIME?

  1. No comparison:
For Obama, the major issue concerned the timely documentation of donations made in the 20 days prior to the election, a window of time during which the FEC requires official notice of contributions exceeding $1,000 to be submitted no more than 48 hours after receipt of those donations. For the DoJ to take legal action, the violation must be considered both intentional and serious. The infractions committed by the 2008 Obama campaign were not alleged to be intentional.

For Trump, the Department of Justice has already proved that Cohen intentionally acted to facilitate and hide an illegal contribution for the purpose of affecting the election on Trump's direction, because that is what he formally admitted to. Cohen admitted to intentionally violating portions of the following federal election laws on instruction from Trump:

    52 U.S. Code § 30116 – Limitations on contributions and expenditures
52 U.S. Code § 30118 – Contributions or expenditures by national banks, corporations, or labor organizations

Obama’s civil FEC infractions, while they resulted in a large fine, are legally distinct from what Cohen pled guilty to, which is the intentional commission of felonies intended to affect the outcome of a federal election.

  2. What Anonymous fails to understand is the fact the Robert Mueller is no longer trying to build a criminal case against our President. Its all politics. There is no "Collusion law" on the books. Trump cannot be charged with obstruction in the firing of Comey. And if Mueller had a case, we would already know at least SOME of the details.

As far as Cohen is concerned, what he did and what he claims, are not attached to any hardcore confirmation. In fact, there is no reason he was ever going to "flip" or "compose," until last Sunday, when the news came out regarding the $20 million fraud Mueller was building against him. 48 hours later, he started composing.

We do, if you're paying attention. Look for details in the coming indictments of Stone, Assange, Trump Jr. and others; also in the next Manafort trial.

  4. You write, "We already do" and then cite unpublished examples in so-called future indictments. Kinda proves my point.
