Here are her opening remarks:
For over one year I have been researching, reading, and writing about the multitude of things that have led me to believe that Sarah Palin is unfit to serve in any capacity, at any level of government. The list of her failings is long and impressive. When someone asks me why I dislike Palin I have to pause and catch my breath. It is hard to know where to begin.
Her attitude regarding homosexuality, banning books, reproductive freedom, race, equal pay for women, unethical behavior, charges to her PAC, attitudes toward people who work for her, the number of days Piper misses school, her use of Trig as a prop, the hypocrisy inherent in virtually everything she says compared to what she does, resignation from her position as Governor, personal charges for travel expenses of her children passed on to the people of Alaska, shooting animals, endangering the environment, her lack of understanding of countries around the world and basic geography, lack of education, blatant disregard for scientific evidence for evolution, lecturing at right to life rallies while hiring Lynn Vincent to be the ghost writer of her book knowing that Lynn admitted to having had an abortion, indicating that Bristol and Levi were going to marry and that would solve the problem of an unwed teenage pregnancy, mocking our President for having an understanding of the U.S. Constitution, writing letters to herself in God's voice and her attitudes regarding responsibility as a mother are just a few of the many things with which I take issue.
However people might try to explain away my total lack of respect for Palin, suggesting that we simply have different world views. People might suggest that just because I disagree with her politics, that they still don't understand my ongoing efforts to discredit her . . . . . . [and what follows these words is a rehash of two charges that have been fully examined over the years and proven untrue as relates to criminal or immoral activity on the part of the Governor.] end of text. You can read the full article here.
If one takes the time to read the entire article, she will have encountered a very typical and mindless review of the Governor. Malia Litman is the author's name. She wants you to believe that the reason for the intensity of her objection to Palin is not -- repeat, "is not" -- found in the rather hapless list of complaints included in the above quote but in the anecdotal charges of two issues not included in our post, two charges presented as typical of a Sarah Palin who cares only for herself and functions without regard to human decencies or legal concerns. Litman does not mention that both charges (regarding the sports center and the construction of Palin's home) were the subject of law suits filed against the Governor and found to be baseless in courts of law. The fact remains that Litman attacks Palin because a) she thinks it will make her money, and b), she despises all that Palin stands for in a political sense.
Understand that Palin had to deal with more than 18 lawsuits brought against her during the days in which she was Governor. The legal strategy on the part to the Leftist opposition was to bury the Governor in legal fees and in the process, destroy her influence as a growing political force [under the weight of the sheer number of law suits], and force her to sell her home and other high valued possessions in an effort to pay off legal fees that were quickly rising above the $500,000 mark. Alaska State law prohibited the State from offering reimbursements to the Governor for these fees. Understand that had Palin remained in office, her personal legal fees could have totaled more than 1.5 million dollars. She, of course, had no option but to quit her position as Governor for the very reason outlined -- the pretend moralist, Malia Litman, fails to mention or even allude to this telling circumstance.
Here is our review of Litman's charges:
1. Palin is not "anti homosexual" in a political sense. A stance against gay "marriage" is a stance for freedom of speech. Further, Palin understands that if "one man, one woman" is not the definition of marriage, there is no definition that makes sense.
2. "banning books" is a charge that is both without foundation and extremely dishonest.
3. "reproductive freedom" are Litman's words. "Right to life for the defenseless unborn" would be the wording Palin might choose.
4. "race" - again, an extremely dishonest accusation. Palin is no more a racial bigot than is Litman.
5. "equal pay for women" is something that Palin has actually campaigned FOR.
6. "unethical behavior" - here we have a very general charge that could serve as a title for Litman's post . . . . it is not a specific charge.
7. "charges aginst her PAC" - at this point in her post, Litman is doing nothing more than "piling on."
Understand that there is nothing of a criminal nature in the Litman list that has not been thoroughly investigated and found to be lacking --- nothing. To argue otherwise is to believe that the entirety of the legal world is biased in favor of Palin, a circumstance that Midknight Review finds rather laughable.
9. "resignation from her position as Governor" is, perhaps, the most baseless of the charges. We have already spoken to this criticism. You need to know that the only reason these ridiculous law suits stopped is found in the fact that Palin quit as Governor putting herself in a position to save herself from financial ruin. The Left tried to bury her, financially, but only forced her to make a decision that gave her the ability to fight back in a decisive and final sense. After Palin became a millionaire, the law suits all but stopped and another calculated attack against the common man was foiled. Turns out that critics of Marxism -- must own "mega-bucks" or they will be silenced by the Marxist enemy. Where would Hannity or Limbaugh be without the ability to defend themselves? And where is that ability if they do not have the ability to earn huge sums of money. We note that, for the most part, the Right does not do battle in this matter. "Issues" are the issue, not the total destruction of the opposition in terms of personal finance.
10. "shooting animals" - Geeeeeesh.
11. "her lack of understanding of countries around the world and basic geography" -- did Litman forget that Obama had no clue as to the actual number of States in our Union -- thinking the number to be 57 or 58 ? permalink
12. "lack of education" - Palin has a 4 year degree, equal to the educational background of more than 80% of the journalistic community including Keith Olbermann. Let's not forget the scam involved in Obama's claim to having been "editor of the Harvard Law Review" when, in fact, he was only the President of the Harvard Law Review, an entirely different circumstance. Also, Obama has no clue on how to pronounce "corps" as in "Marine Corps" and actually put out that American's could cancel out their dependency on Middle Eastern oil if we did nothing else but maintain proper air pressure in our tires !! At the time this economic genius made that statement, I turned and asked by lovely wife, "does he think we are all driving around on flat tires?"
13. "blatant disregard for scientific evidence for evolution" - this is why Palin is unqualified to be President !!?? Has anyone out there in Lala land ever ever ever attended a debate between scientists who have varying and opposing views regarding evolution? Maybe someone should "google" Dr. Huge Ross' (a physicist) site or read Michael Behe's book, Darwin's Black Box. Apparently the unlearned Litman believes the debate over evolution is a debate between the educated and the uneducated of this world. Look, if you believe in the "big bang theory," often attached to the evolution community, you believe in the eternity of both matter and motion. "Unbelievers" find this to be in violation of scientific rules, revealing the uncontested conclusions of an enthusiastic secular community to be less than absolute fact. Understand that in the continual question of the question, "And then what happened . . . " evolutionists finally arrive at conclusions that are no less preposterous than the "God equation." In the end, it takes as much faith to accept a godless evolution as it does to believe in a God as creator of all that we see. An under-reported fact is found in the reality that fossil fragments of species credited as living in a specific geo-age are often found in sediment of a different age, a period of time in which they did NOT live, according to evolutionists. Conclusion? Even some of the "facts" of evolution are contradicted by the very science that claims their veracity.
Leaving all this behind, there really is no point in further analysis. Litman's hit piece is nothing less than a poorly written and illogically arranged article containing points that have been wholly discredited or are rather childish in their assertions.
Understand that Sarah Palin is was a very ordinary citizen of Alaska who saw something that needed to be done and put her hat in the ring. She did not "train" for political office - you know, kind of similar to Mr. Obama. She is the face of the American Dream at nearly all levels and we are proud to make a defense on her behalf. Besides, effectively defending Palin is sooooo easy to do. -- jds
