At the beginning of the impeachment process, Trump's approval was at 39%. Now . . . .

The president’s approval rating now sits at 49%, according to a poll published Tuesday by Gallup, up from 45% in the last Gallup poll. This is also the highest approval rating Trump has enjoyed since his inauguration in January 2017.

Understand that this is a national poll,  so don't believe those who claim that the majority of the population wants Trump emoved when his approval numbers are skyrocketing. 

When we read a poll without allowing for the Media Stimulus at/of the moment, we misunderstand the poll's ultimate impact. All polls are but a measure of opinion at a particular moment in time. A failure to allow for the historical influences of "that moment in time," and we fail to understand the ultimate impact of said poll.

Most recent Gallup Poll fineds that 52% of those surveyed believe Trump should be removed from office while 46% say "no" to that issue.  Understand that Gallup gets to "52%"  because they asked 8% more Democrats than Republicans.  In other words,  minus the 8% weighted survey,  you have a one to one poll,  straight up,  and only 44% polling for impeachment/removal.  You should know that if you asked more Democrats than Conservative,  you may get a poll that recommends impeachment/removal, and that is exactly what has happened.

In June,  this same poll,  showed 45% for impeachment/removal and 53%  against impeachment/removal.  Again,  the 8%  marker still applies,  giving us only 37% of the population in favor of removal.

If you factor in Media Stimulus at the moment,  the June percentages were in response to the notion that the Mueller Investigation had failed to find an impeachable offence,  while the October stimulus was all about the whistleblower, his complaint coupled with little or no time for a qualified defense versus the Complaint.  Expect to see a reversal in these percentages if the whistleblower is abandoned for a new and different strategy.

Conclusion:  the October poll versus the June poll does not demonstrate a trend line, but rather a differing response to different historical issues presented by the media.  If Gallup was measuring the publics' view of impeachment as a result of the Mueller Report in BOTH polls,  then "yes,"  you have a trend line.  Otherwise,  all you have is a public response to new stimulus AT THE MOMENT excluding any sort of trend.   

Obama with his ObamaCare is cutting his own, high rate of uninsured. Before he came along, uninsured rates were between 13% and 14%. Today, we celebrate the fact that have returned to a 15.6% rate.

The key to lowering the uninsured rate is - strangely enough - jobs.  Obama took the OverLord position,  on January 20,  of 2009.  Uninsured rates,  in his first five years,  skyrocketed to 18% of the population.  Under Bush 43,  that percentage was closer to 13%,  back in the day when the unemployment rate averaged 4.4%.  

Sadly,  Obama is celebrating a reduction in the uninsured population that he created,  with his jobless "recovery" and failed domestic policies.  

Most Popular First Ladies: Barbara and Laura Bush. Least popular are M Obama and Hillary, in that order. There is trouble in Utopia.

57% of Independent voters (40% of the domestic population) agree that Obama has no respect in the international community.

For the first time, more than half of the United States public said President Obama is not respected by other world leaders, according to a Gallup poll released Monday. 

The new poll indicates 53 percent said Obama is not respected on the world stage compared to 41 percent who said he is respected.

Gallup notes the public’s opinion has shifted significantly in the last year. In 2013, 51 percent said Obama was respected internationally while 43 percent said he wasn’t.

Personal Politics: Obama is every bit as unpopular as was Bush.

Gallup gives us this comparison.  Note that Bush (dark green) scored much higher than Obama, comparing the early days of each man.  Clearly,  the honeymoon with a disillusioned America,  is over as far as the Obama's are concerned.  She is as irrelevant as any First Lady has been,  and he is more a deceiver than any president in modern times,  and this includes the very Progressive FDR.   If you are a Democrat,  the comparison to Bush is scary,  no?  Me?  I think it is funny.  

Obama's over-all approval numbers fall to 44% (Gallup) , a drop of 3 points since June and a 26% "approval" rating for his handling of the deficit is about as low as you can go . . . a record low in American politics.

While voters cannot list a single accomplishment in the areas of education or race relations that have made any difference on the national scene,  still,  Obama gets relatively high marks in these areas of concern.  As to his high marks on the "terrorism" front,  his "kill by drone" policy keeps him afloat here.  But,  nothing can cover-up his dismal failures with the economy,  tax reform,  and his handling of the national debt ("The federal budget deficit"  below) in the eyes of the American voter.  Most notably,  Gallup found Obama falling in his approval numbers in all categories listed below.  And, with such low numbers, comes the loss of "political cashe,"  something he desperately needs to mount a campaign of "the people versus congress."  Understand that Obama has no clue as to negotiating with congress,  so he dreams up the same old same old,  and tells "the people" to order congress to comply.  That really did not work for him when had political clout;  it certainly will not work now that he is a proven and accepted flop of a president.

Our survey shows that 80 million Americans are happy to be gun owners and they all vote. Gallup sees only 38% of Americans as pro-gun restrictions.

 In the aftermath of the Newtown, Conn., school shootings, and as Vice President Joe Biden leads a federal task force that will recommend ways to curb gun violence in the U.S., 38% of Americans are dissatisfied with the nation’s gun laws and want them strengthened. This is up from 25% who held this set of views a year ago, and is the highest since 2001. Still, more Americans are either satisfied with current gun laws, 43%, or think they should be loosened, 5%.

These findings are based on two questions in Gallup’s annual Mood of the Nation survey, conducted Jan. 7-10. The first asks respondents if they are satisfied or dissatisfied with the nation’s laws or policies on guns. Those saying they are dissatisfied are asked a follow-up question to determine whether they think the laws should be made more strict, made less strict, or kept as they are. As a result, the 38% who are dissatisfied and want stricter gun laws indicates not only a preference for stricter gun laws but a certain amount of intensity of feeling on the subject.  (Source:  Gallup).  

Editor's notes:  understand that American's remain satisfied with where they are with current gun laws,  in spite of the fact that this number has decreased somewhat,  over the past month.  In plain language,  48 % of Americans are "satisfied" while 38% are not.  Clearly,  there is no mandate for what is about come out of the White House.  

Personally,  this editor  (that would be me) does not think that the hoped for ban of ammo and guns will amount to much.  80 million Americans own guns,  and 99% of them are voters who are [obviously] satisfied with their position on guns.  This is not a winning issue at election time - and most on the Democrat side already know this.  

Hopefully,  the GOP will lead the way to reasonable solutions as to gun violence.  Violating the US Constitution is not one of those solutions,  however. 

Strategies for defeating "abortion" are, here, outlined . . . strategies that do not include legislation, by the way . . . . strategies that ALREADY have the approval of the voting majority.

“We” are winning the fight to end abortion or, at the very least,   to greatly curtail this terrible practice.  The rather lengthy excerpt, below,  is evidence of that fact.   

Question:  if this is true,  why can’t we win an election with this at its center?  

Answer:  I believe it is because we allow the debate to change course. The Left never allows “abortion” to be the defining issue.  Rather,  it changes the issue to one of “a woman’s right to choose for herself.”  The Left argues that the opposition seeks to order a woman’s life and her right to choose for herself.  

As long as we allow the Left to define the issue,  as long as "we" are perceived as being opposed to what a woman does with her own body and the unborn life to which she is given charge,  we will never see the kind of success we desire.  Understand that the unborn are not "wards of the state." 

If we cannot legislate murder out of existence  when no one thinks of "murder" in an approving way,  how,  then,  can we rationally expect to end all abortions?  

January 10, 2013, (National Right to Life News)—A new Marist poll conducted for the Knights of Columbus reveals that 83% of Americans favor significant limitations on what is now essentially abortion on demand. That is up 4 points from last year.

A total of 56% of respondents believe either that abortion should never be permitted (10%), allowed only to save the life of the mother (12%), or only in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother (34%).

The telephone survey of 1,246 adults conducted in early December found that 27% would limit abortion to the first three months of pregnancy, at most.  Another 6% would allow abortion during the first six months of pregnancy while only 11% would allow abortion at any time.

Nearly 6 in 10 Americans (58%) also believe abortion is “morally wrong.”  And in many ways perhaps most important of all, a full 84% of Americans say laws can protect both mothers and unborn children.

 “After four decades of legalized abortion in this country, Americans have had ample time to understand that abortion has terrible consequences,” said Knights of Columbus Supreme Knight Carl Anderson.

An anti-abortion strategy that cannot be resisted

More editor's notes:  the anti-abortion "movement" should be involved in a grassroots movement more than a legislative one,  including  free pregnancy counseling,  legal and religious assistance in the adoption process,  homes for unwed mothers, per-abortion counseling and laws that support that practice,  laws banning late term abortions,  and educational strategies that help women to understand that the life they carry has the same right to choose,  as does the mother,  the same right to life.  Understand that the majority who would vote against making abortion illegal,  will support each of the above suggestions,  including the two legislative propositions.  Who knows . . .  since we have not really tried . . . using the above strategies,  we just might get the abortion rate down to 100,000 or less,  about what might be expected if legislation were passed. 

Understand that back in the day when abortion was illegal,  there were still abortions.  People,  women,  bent on ending "the unborn life within,"  will find a way to do so.  In fact,  abortion pills such as RU - 486  (made legal under the anti-abortion administration of GW Bush and his Republican controlled congress) is now available to any woman who cares to ask.  

Abortion upon demand,  is something that is the case,  in today's social economy.  We can continue to dream of a day when all of the unborn have been given life in a welcoming world,  but,  sadly,  that is not the case.  

I no longer care about Roe v. Wade,  because the societal/moral arguments against abortion are stronger than the legislative and imagined alternatives.  While we are trying to deal with the issue in terms of legislation,  millions of babies are dying.  If the "movement" committed itself to saving lives rather than passing legislation,  millions of unborn lives could be save while we are fooling around passing laws that will never be accepted.  

We need to get this in our heads:  the same people who oppose abortion,  statistically,  ALSO oppose anti-abortion laws,  when it comes to voting for one position over the other.  If we cannot appeal this particular contingency,  a majority of this nation's voting women,  we are doomed to failure.  That need not be the case.

Here is a Gallup proves otherwise and this is why I urge the pro-life for all movement to embrace populace ideas while staying miles away from taking "choice" from women.  

 

Gallup claims 52% of Republicans blame Bush for the crisis we are experiencing today. Here is why that is funny/bogus.

New Gallup poll shows that Bush is blamed for the current economic crisis,  after 3 years of failure on the part of Obama,  by a margin of 68% to 52%.

Understand that I never post a partisan poll without first, reviewing the methodological statements used to justify the polling data.  Public Policy Polling,  for example, is seldom used by me because of its consistent “stacking” principle,  more than often stacking the opinion of the poll with a 58/45 split,  Democrats to Republicans.  

When I went to the Gallup section justifying its poll,  it had closed one page of information and failed to give even a hint at how the poll’s demographics were figured.  The poll was 40/60 cell phone versus land lines, and only one question was reproduced,  question number 15.  Usually, a group of two, three or four questions are related to each other.  We were denied that information.  In 5 years of blogging,  I have seldom seen such incompetence in the offering of polling information. 

When a poll fails to presents its “justification,”  polling results,  if extreme,  can give insight into the bias of the particular poll.  Those of us who are conservative (me) or “Republican,”  know full well that 52% of Republicans do not blame Bush primarily,  for the crisis we are now witnessing,  in 2012. 

 Gallups tells us:   Interviews are conducted with respondents on landline telephones and cellular phones, with interviews conducted in Spanish for respondents who are primarily Spanish-speaking. Each sample includes a minimum quota of 400 cell phone respondents and 600 landline respondents, with additional minimum quotas among landline respondents by region. Landline numbers are chosen at random among listed telephone numbers, cell phone numbers are selected using random-digit dial methods. Landline respondents are chosen at random within each household on the basis of which member had the most recent birthday.

We all know that 68% of Democrats were born in the month of June**,  which gives insight as to the bias of this Gallup poll.
