This is not poor management or simple incompetence; rather, we are looking at a group of individuals who are not qualified to function in their given capacities . . . . . . period. They are a joke.
Obama administration officials said they did not know how many people signing up for coverage had paid their premiums because the government had not finished building the “back end” of the computer systems needed to pay insurers. (NY Times 2/13/2014)
Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.

Obama has spent 1 billion dollars on his website and will need another billion to complete the site's remaining 40% (plus "fixes") . . . . and their lies go on and on.
The to-date cost of the glitchy Obamacare website has topped $1 billion, easily surpassing the $394 million originally estimated by the Government Accountability Office, according to a Bloomberg Government analysis. It’s important to note that the Bloomberg analysis runs through Sept. 30, just before the 16-day partial government shutdown. So the final cost may be more than $1 billion.
Editor's notes: It is one huge lie after another, with this bunch of Marxist Misfits (Progressive theory does have its roots in communism and the thinking of Karl Marx). The latest is the realization that the Fed's first announced estimate of $160 million, followed by admissions of more than $400 million (told to us for the past two months) was never close to being true. Rather, the truth is more than $1 billion dollars, with $3.5 million of that total being spent during the six months just before the October roll-out date.
Understand that that the Democrats had played up the 16 day partial shutdown, as something that cost the American taxpayer $24 billion dollars, a "catastrophic" total that would spell "d.e.f.e.a.t" for the GOP in 2014. Remember? Of course not, because that "24 billion" total was a figure pulled out of Obama's backside. Turns out, the "shutdown" only effected 8% of the population, and almost all of that effect was temporary, involving government wages that were paid immediately following Sept 30 and the end of the so-called "shutdown."
Know this: ObamaCare is a rotting albatross tied around the Democrats' political necks, and will remain an elective crisis through 2014 and into the 2016 election cycle beginning in late 2015. There is no getting around this fact - ObamaCare is "all on" the Progressive Democrats with not a single Republican voting for this abortive legislation, conservative or liberal. "They" wanted it that way, somehow believing that their healthcare "reform" would be their ticket to "permanent rule" as the only party of choice for an appreciative voting public. Turns out that only 30% of the indigent poor are "flocking" to ObamaCare, none with any serious money, all of them being placed into the money pit known as "Medicaid," and less than 20% of healthy America joining the cause. Approximately 200,000 have "signed up" for coverage during the first two months, when the Administration needed 2.2 million signees to meat their expectations. "Colossal" does not begin to capture the extent of failure relating to this program and its "roll-out."
It is obvious, now, that none of the ObamaCare website was completed by October 1, none of it. In the six months before the October deadline, Administration gave up on the "back functions" and directed all its attention the front end of this site, that part the American people would see first. The back end of this website, the part that collates and forwards all applicant information to the various insurance companies, simply does not exist. The Obama Administration has spent more than 1 billion dollars on 60% of its website, with millions more needed to complete that "60%," not to mention the writing, testing and security of the remaining and unwritten 40%. Can anyone say "Two billion?"
I have never thought the current Administration was qualified, professionally, for the leadership of this once great nation. Now that we are facing the reality of ObamaCare, their wonderful words and Utopian theory have gone the way of the wind. And their problems do not end with website issues. We now know that the supposed "savings to the economy" promised by Obama/Pelosi/Ried, has evaporated into a 3 trillion dollar deficit . . . . . and counting. Social Security owes itself 17 trillion dollars; Medicare is 42 trillion in debt and ObamaCare, the 800 pound gorilla by comparison, is on track to dwarf either our two largest socialist programs . . . . and the beat goes on.
The Administration just proved Ted Cruz correct, and has postponed the small business mandate for a full year.
The Obama administration today announced a
one year delay of online enrollment for small businesses looking to purchase
health coverage through federal Obamacare exchanges, another high-profile
setback for HealthCare.gov. It’s the
second delay for online small business enrollment, which the administration had
said would begin this month.
The White House is trying to get the troubled enrollment
website on track for individuals and families seeking coverage, which is a
higher priority. It set this Saturday, Nov. 30, as a target date for getting
HealthCare.gov working for the “vast majority” of users.
The delay of the small business exchanges comes as little
surprise, as the administration had said earlier this week it would offer
alternative ways for small businesses to enroll. Still, it undercuts the White
House message that it’s beginning to turn around the disastrous rollout of the
health care law.
Conservatives need to camp on the demonstrative
fact, with this postponement, that “we” were right to call for the
postponement, and the Administration was
dead wrong (along with John McCain and the Ignorants he represents within the
RINO Herd of the GOP). You should know that a full 40% (if not 60% to 70%) of the ObamaCare website has not yet been written. And the website is the least of the Administrations problems. The fact remains that premiums are going to increase by more than 40%, on average, and for some segments of the population, they will increase by 300%. More than this, at the end of the day, there will still be 30/50 million folks without insurance. the indigent poor will be channeled into Medicare where that budget now projects 42 trillion in unfunded liabilities and the fantasy of "affordable healthcare reform" fully exposed.
Sorry folks, but this is going to be the storyline of the century, and its news cycle is just beginning.
The 15 state exchanges have spent more than $1 billion combined. Vermont, as of October 31, spent $172 billion and has not signed up anyone.
Also, we now know that in addition to 10 to 14 million private insurance owners soon to be cancelled out and forced to buy an Obama product, there will another 93 million Americans, insured through their employers, who will be canceled out in 2014 . . . . just in time for the midterm elections. Understand that 140 million Americans get their insurance through their employer. "93" is well over half that population, and this number may be even higher.
More than this, there is, at least, one memo out there in which the projections for the first roll-out period (October thru the end of March 2014) would only be 3.5 million instead of the 7 million "goal" we have heard so much about in recent days. Talking heads tell us that if the 3.5 million number is the actual sign-up population, most of them will be unhealthy and/or poor. Without a large population of healthy and wealthy, ObamaCare will not collect enough money to pay for half of its first annual outlay.
And, before the end of the year 2014, all those 90 odd million cancellation notices will have been written . . . . . . just in time for the 2014 mid-term elections.

Even the 15 state exchanges doing their own thing with ObamaCare, sign-ups are far from being in line with Administration goals.
From Adisory.com, we have these end of month facts: only 318,000 made application in the 15 state exchanges managing their own Medicare exchanges; only 150,033 succeeded in enrolling in a particular plan, or, 10,000 folks per state, as an average.
How many people have enrolled in the Obamacare exchanges?

The Daily Briefing team has continued to tabulate early enrollment data from the state-based exchanges (SBEs).
A few key notes to read the chart below:
- Accounts: This tracks all accounts that have been created in the state.
- Total applicants: This refers to the total number of applicants included on completed applications through each exchange, a change from our initial decision to list the total number of applications. (We made the change because of considerable inconsistency across the states, in how they were reporting applications.) Our current figure includes individuals who have applied for a qualified health plan or Medicaid; because of the lack of state data, we've cited many of these data points as minimum values.
- People who picked a plan/enrolled: This refers to the individual number of people who have picked a plan, although they may not yet have paid their first month's premium to complete the process. Again, this figure includes individuals who have picked a qualified health plan or enrolled in new Medicaid coverage, with Medicaid enrollees representing a disproportionate percentage of sign-ups so far.
Through data compiled October 30: Based on the numbers that states are choosing to share, we counted at least 150,033 people who had successfully picked a plan or enrolled in Medicaid coverage through the 15 state-based exchanges. And including those folks, at least 389,153 people had applied for coverage, too.
