Unemployment dropped to 7.6
%. Obama will intentionally attempt to
deceive the unknowing, on this
matter. He will tell us all, “It is slow,
but it is progress,” all on the
assumption that a downward “trend” in unemployment percentages, is
progress.
But, if we define “progress” in terms of increases of employment increases (more people working today than before); if we define progress in terms of wage
increases per hour; if we define
progress in terms of full-time employment opportunities, then there is no progress at all.
Understand that “7.6% “ is a
higher rate of unemployment than was the case when Obama took office, more than four years ago. Higher.
Than four years ago. And Obama promised 5% unemployment for this time in the "recovery."
Understand that a disgraceful 663,000
Americans quit the workforce, just last month.
While the rate of unemployment decreased, those who are unemployed, officially,
increased by well over half a million, bring the total number of able bodied Americans who are no longer part of the workforce to a whopping 90 million. And what are they doing? Many
millions have joined the “underground” workforce, receiving pay for labor “under the table.” They are gaming the system,
learning how to earn without paying taxes and being fined for health
insurance they cannot afford, and, in many cases, simply do not want. Still others, are
applying for permanent disability, and
many others have moved back in with their parents or a family member.
I personally do not care about
the corporate tax rate and it’s effect on Big Business. But I am very concerned about that same rate
as it is applied to small business
(companies with fewer than 500 employees). Understand that “small business,” in America,
provides 70% of all jobs, and
they are having to pay the same rates as the larger companies. Understand that a 34% federal tax on 8
million dollars is one thing; 34% of half a
million in gross profits is something very different. Consider,
also, the nearly 10 percent many
Democrat controlled states charge their higher earners and businesses, the need to constantly add to current
inventories, often taking 15% of gross profits off the table, health insurance costs, the 3 to 7% cost of regulatory compliance, liability insurances. Lets not forget retirement funding, benefit costs, and unemployment benefit costs which are fully paid by
the employer. In many cases, after this is all added up, small business has less than 3 percent left
for cost of living and real profit . . .
. . often, not enough to expand; not enough to survive a “rainy day.”
The truth of the matter is
this, we are living in a deflating
economy complete with fewer jobs, lower
pay, and less health coverage than before
all this “free stuff” came into play.
And if this “sinks the ship,”
Obama, in his radical silliness, thinks that situation would "fair."
After all, “we” all share in the
pain --
except, of course, for him and all the fat cats. What a preposterous joke this is.
