Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
When Obama says we are not at war with Islam, maybe its because he isn't listening.
Listen to this and then try to convince someone that we are not at war with Islam.
"The enemy of America is not our many Muslim friends. It is not our many Arab friends ... The terrorists practice a fringe form of Islamic extremism that has been rejected by Muslim scholars and the vast majority of Muslim clerics; a fringe movement that perverts the peaceful teachings of Islam."
My counter to the first comment is simply this: "Replay that video. It speaks for itself."
Your second comment is nothing but wishful thinking and I believe you know this to be true. The problem, of course, is that past conservative leadership under the likes of McCain and Lindsey Graham and Newt Gingrich did little to solved the obvious and critical problems, hence the 2008 butt kicking by the Democrats.
A new kind of Republican politician has been voted into existence. We are excited for what we see. Time will tell if they will be committed leaders or just another group of self-serving politicians.
If they get the job done, the American version of Marxist collectivism is on its way out.
No, actually that is what George W Bush said:

PS... your politics of hate and fear are losing.
