We really should not count his home run record. But his apology and explanation are heart felt.

Look, of course, steroids do not give you "an eye for the ball." BUT , they make you stronger and strength increases bat speed and increased bat speed takes a long double and turns it into a home run. Maybe he would have had the same batting average in 1998 with steroids but his slugging percentage would not have been the same. --- editor.
