Week One of the Post Ryan Announcement: Romney 1; Obama 0. And Saturday, the Romney/Ryan team will take their offensive to Florida

I give the first week,  post Announcement,  to the Romney/Ryan team.  It is clear that Mitt and Paul and the boys have spent some time thinking this through and they have caught Obama completely unprepared for the effectiveness of their counter argument.

And now,  come Saturday,  we learn that Paul Ryan will go to The Villages,  the world’s largest retirement community.  He is taking his mother and will spend a good part of the day reiterating the truth about his program.
Understand that Romney/Ryan have taken the offense away from Obama/Biden and have no intentions of letting that advantage go by the boards.  More than this,  I am quite certain that the Obama camp is no longer slapping each other on the back about the Ryan nomination.

I expect Friday to be a rather slow day,  but, the reporting on Ryan’s time in Florida come Saturday,  will be of special interest to all.  By Tuesday,  we will have polling results telling us just where the GOP stands in this epic conflict.

Today,  polls were released showing Romney one and two points up on Obama in the swing stats including Florida and Ohio.  Of course,  one or two points is tantamount to a “dead heat” but,  three weeks ago,  Obama was “up” by 4 to 7 points.  At this time in the race for the White House,  trends are the more important consideration,  and the Romney camp must be pleased with how things stand at the end of “week one.”
