There is more pressure on Democrats than most people know. The nation has spoken and said, "The Dems are too liberal."

Editor's notes: The following headline actually reveals the very real pressure the current crop of Democrats are experiencing. There is a video making the rounds showing Democrat Representative, Bob Etheridge, getting entirely too physical with a couple of college aged fellows who have cornered him as he walks to his office. We watched his apology and believe it to be quite sincere. Assuming the sincerity of the apology, it is obvious that his street reaction is an extension of the pressure these Obama parrot politicians are under. Understand that there has been more than one closed door meeting with representatives in the House, Democrat representatives........meetings in which they were told in no uncertain terms that they would vote for thus and so or they would never serve on a committee and the party would not support their re-election --- ala Blanch Lincoln.

Etheridge Statement on Viral VideoWashington, DC, Jun 14 - U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) [sic?] released the following statement on the viral video which appeared on the internet today: — “I have seen the video posted on several blogs. I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved.

Add to this story the fact that Gallup, just today, came out with their latest polling results showing that the American people, 49% of them, believe the Democrat party is too liberal. . . . . . amazing.

Understand that the United States is a a center right nation and has been since its beginnings. When we say "center right," we mean to picture a polling group (1,500 people) being asked to identify with "liberal" or "conservative " without regard to party identification. Each and every time, the results are similar -- 20% go with "liberal" and 38% identify with "conservative" --- a typical representation. Of late, those numbers have actually been 21% for liberal and 45% "conservative." These are among the most consistent numbers in all of the world of polling. These were the marings the day before the '08 election AND the day after the election. Take it to the bank -- we are a center-right country.

While there are more registered Democrats than Republicans, the general leanings of the nation favor a compassionate conservative agenda by a wide margin. Voting percentages among conservatives are much higher than with liberal leaning Americans. Conservatives are better informed than liberal voters, to the tune of 3 to 1 (according to a recent Zogby poll covered here at Midknight Review -- go to this blog's search engine in the right column, type in "Zogby" and can read of our coverage) . All this goes to a different result come 2012.

In the '08 election, the nation found itself choosing between a very unpopular conservative (McCain) and a man none of us knew anything about. That issue has been resolved. We now know far more about Obama than we want to know and we do not like what we see. Just another reason to be optimistic about our future. Come 2012 -- jds.

keys: center-right, Gallup, Democrats too liberal,
