Thoughts about Iraq, Afghanistan, waterboarding and the new military strategy of "peace via retreat."

Indeed, what is Obama's strategy? How does "surrender" Iraq and -- especially -- Afghanistan figure into Obama's "military" plans ? Is blowing the enemy "to bits" a more humane answer to waterboarding? What will be the fate of the 50,000 troops left behind in Iraq? Why are hundreds of Americans dieing in Aghanistan when "retreat" is already scheduled for next year?

Iraq

His strategy in this regard has been to ignore the fact that Bush was ultimately successful in that war effort. We often hear Obama speak of removing all US forces from Iraq by this coming August when, in point of fact, he is leaving 50,000 troops in that country indefinitely. Hopefully, he has not signed off on their death warrant.

In the meanwhile, he is claiming credit for the successful conclusion to the Iraqi war. Biden recently described this as one of the greatest successes of Obama's administration. What a jerk.

Obama refuses to credit the surge or admit to any level of victory for the Bush strategy. More importantly, he has not put forth any plan for the extraction of the remaining 50,000 and may have sealed their doom in the continuing retreat from that country.

Afghanistan

The Af/Pak War is all Obama's and it is beginning to look like a colossal failure not to mention a waste of life for those who sacrificed life or limb -- we dare say a criminal loss of life. Obama continues to tell the terrorist the exact date the troops will be leaving that country and seems to insist that peace as the result of retreat is the stuff leadership commands.

From the beginning of the Obama Administration, Midknight Review has advised folks NOT to enlist into the Obama military. He cares nothing for the lives of his troops and the current planned retreat is living proof of our opinion.

Waterboarding

Understand that Obama believes killing the enemy via the use of the anonymous drone is more humane than the capture and interrogation of these same individuals. Go figure.

Keep in mind that all of the above strategies are the formulations of a man who once told this nation that if we all simply maintained proper air pressure in our tires, the need for Mid Eastern oil would disappear. --- jds
