In case you haven't noticed, we are in the midst of a national states rebellion to ObamaForcedCare.
Virginia, a state that voted for Obama in the last election, roundly supported the passage of a law that keeps the Democrat/Socialist national regime from forcing states to participate in a government run health care program. Virginia voted "Democrat" in the past election for the first time in 44 years. Obama took the state by 8 points. 12 months later, in November of '09, Virginia ousted its Democrat Governor by 18 points.
Think this is an anomaly? USA Today is reporting that 34 other states are preparing law suits against the Federal government. The common motivation for each of the states is the heavy financial burden the Feds are placing on the states as Obama and Company prepares to slash Medicaid payments and transfer them to the 50 states. This action, by Obama's company of financial midgets, will cost Virginia $1.3 billion.
Let's put that in context. California has a deficit of $26 billion for the current fiscal year. Texas is the second most indebted state with a $3 billion deficit. All the other states - including Virginia and Tennessee - are running deficits of $1 billion or less. The Feds are now forcing these states, Virginia and Tennessee as examples, to add more than $1.3 billion to their debt totals -- California may be incurring $3 to $10 billion in debt.
From a jobs and economic restoration point of view, this health care bill is poorly timed and stupidly conceived for that reason. Understand that with the first reports of a national states rebellion, Obama's minions were saying the push back was politically driven - meaning "those damn Republicans are at it again." Well, after hearing that 35 states, many of which are Democrat controlled, that kind of excuse has been put in the deep freeze.
Understand that California is a part of this rebellion. Understand that California is run by a legislature that may be to the Left of the radicalized Black Liberationist, Hussein Obama, proving that the rebellion is not about ideology. Rather, it is about economics.
Midknight Review believes that this health care reform will fail, crushed under the weight of its own expense. Of course, we predicted the bill would fail in Congressional ballot so we may be off base on this prediction, as well.
It is fast becoming obvious that this bill, only signed yesterday, is a jobs killer. Small business (30 or more employees) is being offered $4000 in tax rebates as a one time only incentive to hire while its owner(s) are being strapped with an additional $3,500 per employee annually. The Mayo Clinic in Arizona has opted out of Medicare as has Walgreens in Washington States. Local hospitals and doctors are already reacting to the bill's passage.
"Hey, its the law. Get used to it" some little commi socialist will say. But if there is no money - then what, genius !!?? And that is the point of the rebellion. There is no money - not from the states and not from small business. There is no money FOR hospitals; no money FOR doctors. In short, THERE IS NO MONEY.
Yesterday, a FoxNews report revealed that 78% of this country's voters believes this nation could collapse under the weight of increased debt.
The "President" got a bump in the polls but if his numbers return to pre-signing numbers, this will be an extremely negative forecast of the coming elections. We will know within 30 days on the polling numbers. In fact, there are signs that the "bump" is already over after only three days -- not good news for our resident Marxist/Socialist -- jds
