Only in the tin-foil hat world of the Democrats is a 7 point loss billed as a victory. Amazing.

This season’s special congressional elections are being heralded as a test of whether newly energized Democrats will fare better with an unpopular Republican president.

So far, the Democrats are passing the test.

On Tuesday, Republicans won an unexpectedly close race in Kansas’ Fourth Congressional District. The Republican Ron Estes won by seven points over James Thompson, even though President Trump won the district by 27 points in November.*

Notes:  Never mind tat Estes was a less than perfect candidate,  did not run a good campaign,  and ran on sort notice.  His Democrat challenger has known he would be the opposition candidate for some time, and, spent several million in his failed attempt to take  this seat for the Dems.  Thompson has already announced his candidacy for this seat,  in 2018.
