White House Rules Out Recess Appointment to Replace ...

2 hours ago - The White House is ruling out a recess appointment for its eventual nominee to the Supreme Court.

Editor's notes:  Soooo   . . . . . . .   Obama is being a nice guy about this?  I mean,  the Senate is in recess.

Understand that Obama wants this situation to dominate the election cycle.   It really is that simple.  More than this,  a recess appointment can be reversed,  in time.

Can't you hear Hillary screeching:   "  The business of the United States of America is far too important to allow our high court to function as a broken judicial body. "

Never forget:  Obama believes that a manufactured crisis is far too valuable to waste.

  1. Let's see how much the GOP respects their constitutional responsibility to confirm the next justice. Let's see if they block Sri Srinivasan, a member of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and how the public views the GOP if they block a nominee that the Senate confirmed 97-0 just a few yrs ago.

    1. If the GOP allows a liberal judge to be confirmed in the place of the conservation icon, Justice Scalia, that will be the end of the party and the loss of the coming election. If that is the part of the resume of Srinivasan, if he is a strict constructionist similar to Scalia, fine. If not, no chance in hell. And if you think this is will be a single issue election, you really do not understand what has been happening to the electorate over the past seven years. Congress has replace two liberal justices with the same, during these Obama years. Now, it is our turn. As far as the public is concerned, need I remind you that the Dems have lost more than 4,000 local and state elections, versus the libs, since 2009, 11 gubernatorial elections giving them a 31 to 17 advantage over the Progressives. The GOP has won 46 House seats more than the Libs, giving them controll of the House for years into the future, and 13 seats in the Senate to zero, giving the GOP control of the Senate. Even in the 2012 presidential election, Obama won with 3.5 million fewer votes than he did in 2008. The tide has turned against the Marxist Progressives. Of course, anything can happen, but the advantage is to the GOP.

    2. This is the whole ballgame for the GOP. It makes no difference if the GOP wins the election if, in the mean time, they approve an activist judge. The Court is evenly divided with a conservative justice such as a Scalia. Justice Kennedy is the "non-partisan" on the court with Breyer in a close second place. A conservative appointment simply continues the balance of the High Court. And activist judge in the place of Scalia, would set the Court wildly out of balance.

  2. Scalia was incompetent. Scalia called evolution "a guess, and a bad guess at that." His poster boy for the death penalty Henry Lee McCollum turned out to be innocent, after 30 years in prison.

Young people will come out in droves, especially women to protect their reproductive rights, which did not happen in the last elections. This is especially the case if Cruz or Rubio get the nomination since they support the GOP platform - a constitutional amendment to BAN abortion with NO exceptions. This IS your party platform and IT WILL defeat YOU.

You reap the radical platform you sow. Young women in America are a powerful voting block and they will support NONE of your candidates. Period.

Game Over. The SCOTUS will be liberal - a reflection of American values.

    1. There is nothing critical to scientific research found in arguing for or against evolution.

You can whine and maon and groan about abortion, but you have abortion now, and abortion funded by the federal government now, so what is the big deal? To replace Scalia with another conservatives does not change anything. Your advances for killing the unborn are secure. so stop the tears shed for nothing.
