That "Million student march" in Missouri? It was more like 1,000 children. Here is a credible alternative.

Most of the current turmoil on campus is being driven by the Ferguson Black Lives Matter cabal.  They hate accountability,  paying their own way and,or criticism.  Just a bunch of privileged children who really need to be living at home with mommy and daddy.

I actually think their initial complaint had some merit.  And what was that complaint?  "No one is listening to us."  But to take it to the next level,  and,  start making demands that,  in essence, represent a hostile takeover of the Missouri campus is an act of rebellion coming from a renegade mind.    But  (!!!!)  , college leadership did not take student complaints seriously enough, and now,  we have the current distress.

Students are wanting 31,500 dollars a year  (that's $15.00 per hour, folks) plus benefits for on-campus work.   They want their college education handed to them free,  and,  forgiveness for all tuition debt (totaling 2 billion dollars) owed by earlier attending students.  They have no clue how to pay for all this, or, how to manage their lives if they do not get the free ride they are demanding.

One failed jet vs. providing higher education to two generations.

$1.45 trillion is a lot of money. That’s the estimated total cost of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, which can’t even fire its own gun until 2019 due to software issues. It’s also the estimated cost of providing tuition-free public higher education for every student in the US until 2039. Which one would you choose?

The F-35 is the epitome of Pentagon waste and cronyism. The US has already spent roughly $400 billion on the jet, made by top defense contractor Lockheed Martin. The Pentagon has already promised to buy 2,443 jets for the Air Force, Navy, and Marines in an effort to “modernize” the current fleet of fighter jets.

But the F-35 is a lemon. Last year, it was revealed the F-35’s 25mm cannon couldn’t fire due to inefficient computers, and even once it does, the jet is unable to carry even a minimal amount of ammunition.

    1. 68% of the total federal government is spent on social needs and contracts compared to 55% spent on the military including the F 35 research and production. You forget the 50 state contributions to health, education and welfare. We spend more, per capita, on these three items than any country in the world. California alone spends $250 billion (25% of one trillion dollars). You can demonize the military all you want, but the fact of the matter is this: the military spends just under a trillion per year. Contrast this to the total spending (Federal, state) 3 trillion dollars at the Federal level for health, education and welfare and another 3 trillion at the state leveal for these three issues . . . . . that's 6 trillion for health education and welfare versus a nominal 1 trillion for the military . . . . . and it is the military that maintains our freedoms. The F-35 and its promise for a new age fighter jet is not that big a deal when viewed in the larger context. Keep in mind that research dollars for the F35 is part of the annual budget . . . . money for this product is no added to military expenses.

Finally, your criticisms of the F35 are not wholly accurate. The Marines announced, a couple of months ago, that their version of the fighter jet is ready for combat. Your criticisms, generated by the flower children in our media, have to do with initial testing of the jet, back in the day when the computer hardware and radar systems had not been installed and its coating for stealth had not been applied.
