Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, looked at
the poll and tells Breitbart News: “While on the surface, it looks like
more Americans are self-identifying as pro-choice than pro-life, when
you look at the split in what exactly they favor, those numbers tell a
different story.”
“Americans may be misidentifying themselves when it comes to the
matter of abortion since a majority clearly support significant
restrictions on abortion,” Hawkins continued. “We see students
misidentifying themselves all the time on campuses across the country,
which is why we no longer ask them if they are pro-life or pro-choice.
They don’t know what the labels mean. Instead we ask if they support
legal abortion or how long into a pregnancy they tolerate abortion.”
“As this pro-life generation continues to mature and technology
continues to advance, more and more Americans will come to realize the
great human tragedy of abortion,” she added.
Similarly, Maureen Ferguson of the Catholic Association tells
Breitbart News, “This poll shows once again that most Americans oppose
most abortions. Not only do the majority of people morally oppose most
abortions, they want them to be against the law.”
“Polling numbers are even higher when talking about protecting babies
from late-term abortion, so we hope the U.S. Senate will listen to the
will of the people and pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection
Act, which would ban abortions past 20 weeks of pregnancy,” she added.

Its a shame that "what Americans want" really has little to do with anything. If we got what we wanted, Barack would probably be in jail, right now.
ReplyDeleteLet's call them ANTI-reproductive rights advocates. I really hate the term Pro-life. It's so misleading. Pro-life are often the people who support war, killing, and torture. They are also the same people who are against public assistance for children, mothers, education, etc...
ReplyDeleteThis fetus fetish is a religiously based - 100%. And we know America is becoming less religious, that is crystal clear, by any measure.
G. Carlin says it exactly right.

It's an unborn baby or infant. Your's is the fetish, or, is it a speech impediment? Can't pronounce "corps" or "unborn infant?"
DeleteSecondly, in most if not all states in our union, if a mother is murdered and the unborn infant dies as well, the perv gets charged with two counts of murder. If the unborn is nothing, there can be no murder charge.
Third, I know of no one who is opposed to giving aid to mothers with children . . . . no one. Your commentary is simply put, a lie. We will never get rid of the Hitleresque practice of tearing our unborn into pieces, literally, for the sake of a woman who would not use birth congrol or who refuses to keep her legs together while out on as "date" with her john.
As a father of 5 with 18u grandchildren, I am hardly "anti-reproductive rights." That is something else you just made up. Don't want me and my kind in your bedroom? Great. Just stop asking me to pay for contraception's and abortions.
The U.S. has seen a 12 percent decrease in its abortion rate since 2010, a survey by the Associated Press found. Among the states that saw the greatest drops were Hawaii (30 percent), New Mexico (24), Nevada (22), Rhode Island (22) and Connecticut (21). Notably, none of these states have recently passed laws limiting access to abortion clinics or medical practitioners who provide abortion services.
DeleteGOP fetus fetishists fail again. Their actions defeat their own purpose.

Lower abortion rates are as much the result of the conservative concern for the life of the unborn. Those same states had increasing rates in the years before 2010.
