Poll: Obama worst president since WWII — A
plurality of voters think Barack Obama is the worst president since World War
II, a new poll says. — According to a Quinnipiac University
poll released Wednesday, 33 percent of voters think the current president is
the worst since 1945.
Discussion: CNN, Washington Post, Mediaite, Hot Air, Taegan Goddard's …, Real Clear Politics and National Review
Editor’s notes:
One of the several news portals I use in my daily
reporting/commentary, is
Memeorandum. It is a Left leaning
concern, but news and lede stories are
what they are and Memeorandum is a valued source for headline news items, for that reason. http://www.memeorandum.com/
Memeorandum
is unique in that it includes those sites that have picked up a given
story. Weasel Zippers, Drudge,
The Blaze, The Daily Caller,
Breitbart, the Washington Beacon, The Daily Beast, and others,
do not include this information and important information, it is.
Here is
why. It gives me, as an editor/news research journalist, an idea of what other news agencies are doing
with a given story. In the case of the
story, above, you can see that only CNN picked up this
story (not NBC, CBS, ABC, MSMBC, HLN) . The
NY Times took a pass on this story as well.
The “discussion”
information, can shed light on the
degree of partisanship a story generates, which news outlets may be involved in a
cover-up of sorts, how many Americans have been exposed to a given story, and, the political media divide of this nation.
Some
stories will have 20-30 sources, named
in the discussion; others will have very
few sources.
Let me
give you an example as to how this work,
as you add Memeorandum.com to your blogroll.
Example: Let’s say the story of Zimmerman’s attack on
Trevor Martin saw 30 outlets picking up that story, many of them major news broadcasters and
publishers. By contrast, a second lede, on Memeorandum, appearing the same day and on the same page
as the Zimmerman story, might be an
account documenting a federal courts concern of Obama standing in violation of federal law as concerns his abuse of ObamaCare, a story – in my imagined example – that shows
only four outlets picking up the story,
all minor players in the world of news.
Conclusion?
An analyst could conclude that the Compliant/Progressive Media is using the Zimmerman
story as cover for the Obama story.
Now, I am not asking for
agreement, here, merely illustrating how
the Memeorandum site gives the thoughtful reader, additional “news” that is not found anywhere
else.
While
much of the major media, did not pick up
the story at top of this post,
still, CNN, the WaPost and Mediaite are left leaning
outlets. We might conclude very negative reasons for this lack of coverage, yet, we cannot assert a full-scale partisan cover-up. The three outlets picking up this story are among the Left leaning cabal's biggest names.
Probably a dumb question, but the outlets you name, are these part of your daily reading in preparation for your days. publication. Also, are the "Editor's notes" your commentary, or the work of those on your staff?
ReplyDeleteAdd to the list the Daily Mail and the Times of Israel and the Jerusalem Post and you have my daily assignments. There is a host of other sites I visit on occasion, as well. I have no staff. I was a building contractor for 35 years. My writing style is learned since 2007. Besides the actual art of writing political script, proof reading is my biggest challenge.
Deletedon't forget Newsmax, Fox News, CNS, Drudge, WND, and Breitbart ... real unbiased stuff.
DeleteI mentioned Drudge and Breitbart as part of my daily read. I listen to Fox News daily, but only Megyn Kelly (the Kelly Files) on a daily basis.
DeleteYour snipe, "real unbiased stuff," demonstrated your simplistic world view: Salon.com is "objective" because you need sources you can parrot without giving any thought to the source or challenging what your side of the aisle has to say; Fox or Newsmax are "biased" because - in practical terms -you hate America. "Simplistic," I say, because you fail to realize that "bias" is part of the human condition. We all have our opinions, therefore, we all have our biases. When it comes to a world and the defense of that world view, there is no such thing as "objective."
