In the “headline of the day,” we have this:
Understand that in the Roman Catholic Church, an “enclyical” is as close to “ex cathedra”
as one can get, and “ex cathedra” is irreversible
Catholic law. An encyclical is binding
and irreversible unless and until a second encyclical changes things . . . . . .
which does not happen in the Roman Church.
American Catholics,
borne of an American culture of anarchy and rebellion to conservative
authority, have yet to learn this
lesson. They think “change” is a simple
thing . . . . . . just ignore all conservative authority
and, wala, you have opportunity for a “new direction.”
This is not the case.
Catholics believing in either same sex marriage or abortion, are out of step with their church, and are not “practicing Catholics” in the
truest since of the word. In fact, in recent developments, one Catholic priest has called for
refusal to serve communion to Nancy Pelosi for her godless strand favoring the
filling of viable but unborn babies. In an interview on "Think Progress," Pelosi has this to say: My faith is very deep and has been my whole life. I love my faith and my faith has nothing to do with whoever he is. The arrogance of it all! It’s like something ancient, medieval…The Church taught me as I was growing up that every person has a free will and has the responsibility to live up to a moral standard. And I respect women’s judgment and values to do that.
While her words might sound reasonable to some, the fact of the matter is this: the Catholic church does not change its doctrine based on the public opinions of the American church. Pelosi is not only challenging a teaching, she is working against the central authority of her church; she is denying the infallibility of the Pope or papal decisions. I don't agree with "papal authority" but, then again, I am not a Catholic. Pelosi is, or so she claims. The faith of which she speaks has nothing to do with Catholic teaching on a number of subjects. She is a "dissident believer" and should be excluded from that community for that very reason.
Today’s announcement, simply increases the divide between
American and European Catholics and the vast majority of Catholics, world wide.
It is the “industrialized church” that is increasing “godless” in its
practices. The remaining one billion
Catholics do not agree with the White Church
. . . . but since when did
authority and convention mean anything to an anarchist?

After note: there are well over 130 Roman Catholics in congress, most of which support the genocide of the unborn and the Catholic church allows this heresy ("heresy" by its own definition) to continue. You should know that it was a Jesuit college, Georgetown University, that allowed Obama to cover over the symbolic name of "Jesus" before he would agree to speak at their commencement service, back in 2009. A godless president speaking at a Catholic school that does not honor the name of Jesus . . . . go figure.
