Some of the folks over at the Daily Kos (an extreme Progressive publication -
there are Democrats and then,
there are Extreme Progressives) are recognizing the need to revamp the Democrat
Party.
“Progressives are getting angry, and not merely because
politicians in whom they put their faith and hard work turned around to support
some of the very same policies as those we fought to keep out of office.
We're getting angry because it means that there are two party
establishments that need to be overcome, not one.
It's time to remake the Democratic Party and provide the
United States with a REAL populist option, and not a Neoliberal imitation of
one.” (read the full article if you prefer, at The Daily Kos).
What strikes me as critical to this discussion, is the fact that the Democrat
Party has no clue as to its future needs,
in a time without the fund raising freak, Barack Obama. Understand that H Obama’s primary duty as “president” has been the raising of money and his perpetual campaign for his unpopular Federal agenda. Even with a Hillary Clinton at the head of
the party, the Democrats are in for some
serious times. While Obama was and is
not a mental giant, he is just
that, a giant, when it comes to campaign organization and
fundraising. We have never seen a politician
as capable in these areas as Hussein O. But Obama is all about the "here and now." He does not have the capacity to think into the future . . . . at least to think beyond statements of hopes and dreams. There is no sense of absoluteness to his thinking, his scheming. And when he leave, as a consequence, there will be nothing but a wasted 8 year period in the national history.
Being our most unenlightened president combined with being our
most prolific campaign manager, has been
a combination for the worst kind of political deficit, that “deficit” having to so with advance of
this nation’s physical safety, general domestic wellbeing, and leadership role in world politics. All three categories of concern have taken a
devastating hit, under Obama’s tyranny. In its wake,
we, as a nation, are near ruin, in both
political parties and within the larger domestic population.
It is “white knuckle” time,
and there is nothing that us common folks can do, but wait to see who steps up and takes the
lead, whether lib or conservative. Obama has not “transformed” this country into
anything of significance, but he has
brought it to a critical point of “reconsideration.”
Both major political parties are in shambles and the nation,
itself, is seen as a loser in the social economy of the world.
The Daily Kos is correct in its concern for its party. But the "concern" we should all experience is one that has to do with the very soul of this nation.
The Daily Kos has its "solutions. Conservatives have theirs. Libertarians have, yet, another point of view . . . . . . and the nation is without any effective leadership, whether from the Left or the Right.
