The Washington Examiner gave us this story, Wednesday,
in which Obama, speaking to the “non-partisan”
Organizing for Action that if a Democrat Senator or congressman found herself in
trouble, the OAF would be there in
support. In fact, Steve Israel,
a Democrat from New York made it clear that the overwhelming priority of
OAF and the Democrat Party was not governance,
but the take-over of the House of Representatives.
President
Obama, speaking at his campaign-turned advocacy group, contradicted media
reports that his primary focus right now is setting up House Democrats to
retake the majority in the 2014 midterms.
“It’s not
about 2014,” Obama told Organizing for Action this evening, per the pool
report. “I actually wanna govern, at least for a couple of years.”
He added that “If a senator or congressman from a swing district is about to
take a tough vote on immigration or guns, they need to feel supported.”
What is not
mentioned in the Examiner’s report is the fact that the much talked about
Organizing for Action’s (wasn’t the name
of this bunch, Organizing for America
??) first assembly, was attended by 100 people, most of them staffers. It seems that even the Democrats are tiring
of the constant drumbeat of campaigning and fundraising. Understand that Obama has not spent 12
months, total, sitting at his desk in the WH , doing his job, and the increasing national mess is the
evidence of this monumental malfeasance.
