Libs and God - sometimes they get it right: Turns out that some Liberals actually can pay God the highest of tribute: Judy Collins did, with this song, back in the late 1969's.

She sang the song without instrumental assist.  I lived in Mt. Shasta City, Ca,  and was preaching,  at the time.  Just about every trucker in the area stopped what they were doing or driving,  and listened to this song.  I will never forget the impact this very liberal woman had on our community,  for about three minutes.  Truly,  words matter. 

Is it the GOP's turn to win back the White House. Yes. But the Dems have been telling us for 8 years that the GOP can no longer win presidential elections. Really? I don't think so and here is why.

Can the GOP step in an win the White House,  in spite of the accepted assumption that the GOP can no longer win a national election?  Of course it can.  That is why the Dems are scared out of their collective mind.  

Here is Politico's answer to my question:  

Three years ago, President Obama became the first Democrat in 76 years to win a second term with a repeat majority vote. Yet Romney still won two-dozen states with a total of 206 electoral votes. Based on current polling and historical trends, a credible GOP ticket right now must be considered likely to carry all the 24 Romney states and their 206 electoral votes. The key to Republican hopes to win 270 electoral votes next year therefore revolves around the three biggest swing states: Florida, Ohio and Virginia.
Yet a credible future GOP nominee has reason to be hopeful. Obama carried Florida last time by only 0.9 percent. Hillary Clinton suffers from an upside down image among Sunshine State voters, 37 percent having a favorable opinion but 57 percent holding a negative one in a recent poll. She is in a statistical tie with highly unpopular GOP hopeful Donald Trump and loses by 11 percent to former Governor Jeb Bush. Florida statistically should be the easiest of these key swing states for the GOP to win. 

Let's not forget that G.W.'s re-election (2004) took in more than 12 million more votes than his first campaign,  while Obama lost 3.5 million votes compared to his 2008 totals,  as Romney took in 1 million more votes than McCain   . . . . . .    a total negative swing for the Dems of 4.5 million. 

If we put that re-election campaign in historic context,  as it turns out,  the 2012 election,  for the Dems,  was a predictor as to the 2014 midterms,  one of the most one sided election cycles in American history.    Understand that the Progressive/Socialist Party has lost enough of it's political power in Washington and across the nation,  to make it the weakest Progressive conclave since 1928   . . . .   nearly 100 years ago.  

If anyone thinks a Hillary Clinton or a Joe Biden or an Elizabeth Warren,  is going to end this shocking downward trend,  they really are not thinking rationally.  

Fine with me. 

The last thing we need on Earth,  is a rational Progressive.  

Bush is polling near the bottom of the pack. It's not his name that is the problem, however.

Poll: Jeb Falls to 4%  —  The latest Pew poll shows that Jeb Bush has fallen to 4 percent in the Republican field.  Donald Trump leads the field with 25 percent; Ben Carson is at 16 percent.  —  Carly Fiorina and Marco Rubio are tied for third at 8 percent of the Republican field.

Editor's notes:  Understand that the Bush family,  in terms of their politic,  is a Big Government collective.  That is different from a Progressive collective,  but only in terms of the respect the Establishment has for the Constitution.  They play by the rules,  more or less.  Clearly,  the Progressives of today,  do not.  

But,  in the end,  Jeb is a Big Government type,  regardless of his rhetoric.  Proof?  For one thing,  several months ago,  I heard Jeb answer this question "Which federal programs will you take down?" with this statement,  "I would not take down any federal agency."  

Sorry,  but that is the wrong answer for me.  Understand that his father and his brother believed in the "Affordable Housing" agenda of the Progressive Leftists,  and got legislative approval for the RU 486  abortion pill.  

I am tired of their particular brand of duplicity.  It is all "politics," of course,  but it is time for a leader who will actually make a conservative difference,  if,  in fact, he or she does not fully agree with the Right.  Bush is paying the price for the "same ol same ol" programmed agenda of his father and brother.  While he is his own man,  he shares the philosophy of his family.  Nothing evil about that,  but it really is time for a change.  And,  his polling numbers show that I am not alone in this thinking. 

 

Just to be clear: the Roseburg shootings were the work of an angry black man who hated Christians. This was the 21nd mass shooting of Christian in the past three months.

Understand this:  this was a mass killing of Christians, only.  Can you imagine the courage it took,  for the second or third or fourth or fifth victim to stand, as ordered by this punk,  and admit that they were "Christian,"  knowing what was going to happen next?

The other shooting of Christians was the recent event in which a man entered a black church,  during a Bible study,  and tried to kill all members of that Bible study group   . . . . .   clearly,  a mass shooting of Christians.  

The church I attend,  a "mega church" with nearly 10,000 in attendance,  has armed members present in each service.  

Those on the Left who practice civil disobedience and the violation of law, dare to criticize folks on the Right, who occasionally do the same.

From the Daily Kos:   This is now becoming a thing among Christians—if they don't like the law, they simply don't obey it. Christian owners (the Kleins)  of a bakery that refused to make a cake for a lesbian couple's wedding in violation of an Oregon nondiscrimination ordinance are now refusing to pay $135,000 in damages to the couple they discriminated against.

Editor's notes:  So the Daily Kos lies when it says,  "This is now becoming a thing among Christian—if they don't like the law, they simply don't obey it." while criticizing the Kleins for doing something that is a mainstay of Marxist/Progressive domestic reform policy.  All state approved marijuana laws are in violation of Federal statue.  All 300 of the nation's sanctuary cities are in gross violation of Federal law,  as well.  Obama,  the EPA,  and the IRS regularly ignore subpoenas and Federal court orders,  but who is counting.     Of course,  they (the Daily Kos) can't cite any examples other than the Kliens, when it indicts all Christians,    but who cares about the truth when you are trying to trash a family standing up for their beliefs and against the heterophobic community?  

Don't get me wrong.  I am not justifying the Klien's rebellion. I am only saying,  I really don't give a rip.  The Left started this practice of civil disobedience.  What's good for the goose is good for the goosed   . . . ..  if you know what I mean.   

Funding raising: Hillary versus Sanders for last month:and this is noteworthy.

Hillary brought in $26 million 

Sanders took in $24 million.  

But the real difference is this:  it took Hillary 58 fundraisers to collect her money;  Sanders, only 5 fundraisers. 

Go ahead and tell me, again, that Obama is a Christian

Daily Mail:   Iraqi Christians fleeing persecution at the hands of ISIS are being turned away at the American border despite having family sponsors – as thousands of Muslims are granted asylum.
At least 27 of the targeted minority, known as Chaldeans, have been held in detention in San Diego since entering through the Mexican border this spring.
Now, after months of waiting, 22 have denied asylum and sent back across the Atlantic to Europe, as another five await a verdict.
In total, America had accepted just 727 fleeing Christians at the start of 2015 – a fraction of the 4,200 Muslims granted asylum – and few since.
According to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, five of the group have been charged with lying on their application forms by failing to declare that they have German passports.
The five criminally charged have been identified as Eva and Thamer Sadek Eshoa, Reta Marrogi, Valentina Adil Slewa Zori and Devid Benjamen Nooh Yako. They face five years in jail and a $250,000 fine.
The rest of the group, who also had family sponsors, have been directed towards Germany and Sweden, the hot spots for refugees in Europe.
‘They have family members, also Christians, who are willing to take them in,’ Jones told Daily Mail Online. ‘It used to be that that would be a huge help. It’s not clear why they, of all people, are being turned away while others are accepted.’

Fact: Our schools (mass shootings and all) are the safest places to be, if you are a child or teenager.

(From The Hill):  Vice President Biden says the community college shooting in Oregon that left 10 dead and at least seven wounded Thursday is a consequence of the “dysfunction” in Washington.

“Part of the dysfunction of our political system today is that there’s an overwhelming consensus in America on two things: the Second Amendment and sane gun legislation relating to background checks,” Biden said at the Concordia Summit in New York City on Thursday. 

“  . . . . .   the Second Amendment doesn’t say you can own a bazooka, it doesn’t say you can own an F-15 with hellfire missiles. There’s the ability of government to limit the type of weapon that is available.”

Editor's notes:  Biden speaks out on gun control before knowing any of the facts of the Roseburg killings   . . . .   just following the lead of his president.  

In his comments,  he makes it clear that acceptance of the 2nd Amendment is dysfunctional.  Secondly,  he fantasizes that if Central Planning had legislative power to control gun ownership,  there would be no gun violence in this country.  Third,  he has no idea with the shooter had passed a background check.  Fourth,  as to limiting the type of guns one can own,  the shooter had one long rifle and three hand guns.  It does not appear the murderer used the rifle.  Finally,  our campuses are safe places.  

Since 1990,  there have been 143 school shooting,  many involving the shooting of a single student or adult.  160 fatalities resulted from those shootings, or, six deaths per year,  on average.  (see the article, here).  Compare this to 5,000 gangbanger shooltings each year for 15 years;  well over 50,000 teen deaths due to auto accidents,  have been recorded since 1990; 390 children drown each year or 9700 child drownings since 1990.  

Conclusion:  Let's stop with this nonsense that our schools are unsafe for our children.  "School" is one of the safest places to be,  if you are a child or teenager  . . . . . .    period. 

Re: Oregon mass murder: Another angry atheist. We should ban gun sales to antheists; they have no moral reason not to kill.

BTW,  there is no gun law that would have prevented the Roseburg murders,  Obama's silly pretense at anger,  aside.  Understand the college campus was a "gun free zone,"  and had only one security officer.  Of course,  he was unarmed (this is Oregon,  one of the most liberal states in the Union),  which raises the question,  "Why the hell did the college bother with an unarmed security guard, at all."   

There were 50 shooting events in Chicago,  over the past weekend,  yet,  Obama ignored that fact altogether,  for the sake of making a shameful political  speech about the need for control,  this afternoon. Of course,  he offers no solutions,  but talk.
 
The fact of the matter is this:  There is nothing we can do about such realities.  Time to grieve and, then,  we move on.  There are no alternatives.
