In a CNN article, it is clear that there is room for doubting any criminality as relates to Paul Manafort. More than this, there is no mention of criminal involvement as related to our President . . . . . none. In fact, this quote from the article may be the most significant:
As Manafort took the reins as Trump campaign chairman in May, the FBI
surveillance technicians were no longer listening. The fact he was part
of the campaign didn't play a role in the discontinued monitoring,
sources told CNN. It was the lack of evidence relating to the Ukraine
investigation that prompted the FBI to pull back.
Understand that the FBI leak, on Monday, was only a threat to indict Manafort, and nothing more. This may be an critical fact in view that even the enemies of the current government, (i.e. CNN) have to admit that the FBI backed off its investigation of Manafort for "lack of evidence."
Turns out, the blockbster headline, yesterday, may have already fissiled into political ether. Time will tell.
