Remember when Trump claimed Obama had wiretapped his offices and everyone laughed? Turns out it was true.

U.S. investigators wiretapped President Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to a report by CNN that vindicates the president’s earlier claims, which were mocked as a conspiracy theory.

President Trump had tweeted on March 4: “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”

Breitbart News editor Joel Pollak had reported the day before Trump’s tweet that the Obama administration “sought, and eventually obtained, authorization to eavesdrop on the Trump campaign: continued monitoring the Trump team even when no evidence of wrongdoing was found.”
Trump’s claim, and Breitbart News’s report, were mocked as a conspiracy theory, and other news outlets reported that there was no basis to the claims.

CNN itself at the time called the idea that Trump was wiretapped “incendiary.”
But a report Monday evening said U.S. investigators obtained a surveillance warrant on Manafort from a secret court and had monitored him before and after the election,

  1. Approval of a FISA application requires the FISA court (NOT the President) with probable cause, and that the target of the surveillance be a "foreign power" or an "agent of a foreign power", and that the places at which surveillance is requested is used or will be used by that foreign power or its agent. Manafort was acting as an agent of a foreign power, said the evidence.

SO, are you saying US Law Enforcement should not be allowed to uncover and investigate criminal activities? Are you are taking a position against US Law Enforcement, and to enable criminal elements in society - likely working to subvert our democracy and commit international financial crimes? Why do you take that position? I though conservatives believe in the rule of law? If there are criminal activities involving Trump, do you think they should be concealed? Or do you believe criminals need to be investigated and held accountable? Do you wish to be viewed as a condoner of international crime?

Make your choice: patriot or criminal?

    1. For starters, the possibility that our President has been vindicated in his claim of wiretapping, is a CNN conclusion . . . . . one of your favorite sources of information.

Secondly, to pretend that the FISA court is not influenced by presidentialk politics, especially when that president is a One World Progress, is rather bazaar

You write: " Manafort was acting as an agent of a foreign power, said the evidence." You ignore the fact that the FBI left off its FISA ordered surveillance because of a failure to find any evidence. That last line denies the basis for your next question. Until you learn to read with comprehension, you will never succeed at debate.

You start your second paragraph with a rather idiotic question, answered best by the word "Duh." What you really need to do, before positing such a ridiculous question, is to present a path to vindication with regard to the opaque criminality of the Obama/Hillary Error. People died because of their treasonous behavior; soldiers died because of Obama's stupidly crafted "rules of engagement."

      WTF are you talking about?

    3. A secret order authorized by the court that handles the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) began after Manafort became the subject of an FBI investigation that began in 2014. It centered on work done by a group of Washington consulting firms for Ukraine's former ruling party, the sources told CNN. The surveillance was discontinued at some point last year for lack of evidence, according to one of the sources.

A second FISA warrant has not produced any collusion between Trump and Putin.
