DeVos in a 50/50 tie in the Senate. Final vote on Tuesday of next week.

Betsy DeVos in a 50/50 tie in the Senate.  Final vote on Tuesday of next week.  She allows for non-unionized teachers and that is why we have opposition from Susan Collins and that Senator from Alaska.  It is that simple.

If the vote remains the same as it is today,  Mike Pence will break the tie on Tuesday.

  1. My kids attend a charter school in Michigan and it is anything but a failure. They are way more advanced than the public school system in the same district.

  2. If the Democrats want influence, learn how to win elections. Your teachers unions, and the democratic party, will be destroyed when the Supreme Court rehears Fredrichs.

  3. Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association, No. 14-915, asks whether such workers must continue to pay for any union activities, including negotiating for better wages and benefits. A majority of the justices seemed inclined to say no. This is a case that is before the Supreme Court now.
