Good news for the GOP: Obama is going to try to set the tone for an election that does not belong to him. Awesome.

Peter Baker / New York Times:
Obama's Last State of the Union Address Aims to Set Tone for '16 Campaign  —  WASHINGTON — For the final time, President Obama will mount the rostrum in the House chamber on Tuesday to deliver a State of the Union address.  But this time, aides said, he will not bring with him a long list …

Editorial notes:   Don't you know that Hillary does not want Obama setting the tone for the coming election.  Obama,Hussein,  has taken the Democrat Party into Hell.  He survived,  personally,  but the party is in shambles.  He has failed in every major venue, denied our established allies,  set the Middle East on fire, allowed China and N. Korea to get away with murder, literally,   undermined Israel's influence, and has supported every radical influence willing to identify with his domestic/One World crap.

The headline,  above,  is good news for the GOP.  This election will not be about personality.  That being the case, Hillary is in for a major disappointment, or, so I believe.  And,  I believe this because Hillary has no personality.  She is not honest and owns a national perception that aligns with that fact.  There is talk that she or some of her State Department will receive recommendation for prosecution from the FBI.   And her troubles with Bernie Sanders give us a window into the coming election,  assuming she wins the nomination of her party.

To make matters worse,  Trump is mellowing out,  and others within the GOP are gaining strength,  all of which increases the GOP's opportunity to win the national election.

Obama has not been relevant in a meaningful way,  since the summer of 2010,  so let him run the show,  for the Dems.

Now you know.

  1. This is the state of denial we are presently in.

GOP officials have spent seven years insisting that the White House’s agenda – the Affordable Care Act, higher taxes on the wealthy, Wall Street regulations, environmental safeguards, et al – would produce an economic disaster, but none of those predictions have come to fruition.

Are Republicans prepared to give the president some credit for the improved economy and for rescuing the country from the Great Recession?

Instead of crediting Obama for any of the economic gains that have occurred in the last seven years, Speaker Ryan argued that the Federal Reserve’s policies pushed the recovery.

Ryan said, " the Federal Reserve has given us, in combination with Obama policies, more regulations, higher taxes, more uncertainty."

    So...
    1. Paul Ryan opposes the Fed’s recent monetary policies.
    2. Paul Ryan believes the Fed’s recent monetary policies are bad for the economy.
    3. Asked about positive economic developments, Paul Ryan credits the policies he doesn’t support.

Paul Krugman described Ryan’s understanding of monetary policy as “craziness.”

I think that has just been proven.

    1. You asked: “Are Republicans prepared to give the president some credit for the improved economy and for rescuing the country from the Great Recession?

Answer: No. Obama has no educational background in finance or economic management. His idea of igniting the economy was “Cash for Clunkers,” tax refunds on electric golf carts, production of solar panels (“We will lead the world”), pothole repair and the weather stripping of our homes. ~ editor

Comment: Quantitative Easing is an Obama era idea and cost the retiree community all of its retirement due to the lack of interest rates . . . . so Ryan was correct.

You write: “Ryan said, " the Federal Reserve has given us, in combination with Obama policies, more regulations, higher taxes, more uncertainty."

My comment: Absolutely correct. So much so, that Obama has yet to implement his ObamaCare policy on Big Business. There are 160 million policies in this category and 20 million in the private sector. We have somewhere between 14 and 17 million policies enlisted in ObamaCare, all from the private sector. Why no “Employer Mandate?” Precisely because of what Ryan has said.
