Actually, it is called "denialism" and is an expression of cognitive dissonance. It is a psychological problem (if not an illness). It certainly is not real. I mean, how can plastic tits, phony vagina, continual hormonal treatments, and wigs just in case he/she suffers from male pattern baldness be "real?" Talk about anti-science and faux intellectuallism.
