A growing chorus of sceptics are denying man made global warming. Today, we see that the founder of Green Peace has joined that chorus.

“There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth’s atmosphere over the past 100 years.   Today, we live in an unusually cold period in the history of life on earth and there is no reason to believe that a warmer climate would be anything but beneficial for humans and the majority of other species.”

Words taken from the founder of Green Peace,  Patrick Moore PhD.  His prepared testimony can be found here.

  1. Again, Smithson quotes a guy who is NOT a climate scientist, in fact Moore's book, Pacific Spirit, was peer reviewed as a collection of "pseudoscience and dubious assumptions."

    Right up Smithson's alley.

  2. Once again, my Marxist opponent fails to mention that all of his alarmist weather models were (A) created by physicists and (B) none of them have successfully predicted any major weather crisis.

"Global Warming" is a tool used by Marxist social reformers in their pursuit of an Utopian world community. We were all going to starve to death, back in the 1970's. Then there was acid rain and all the forests were going to die off. Then we had the ozone layer crisis - all of us were going to sun-burn to death. Oh, let's not forget about the "global cooling" crisis of the 70's, as well; we were all going to freeze to death. Katrina (2005) was the beginning of a decade of catastrophic level 3 to 5 storms in the Gulf; have not had a single such storm, since Katrina. How come you all couldn't predict that ??!!

According to Alvin Gore, New York would be under 20 feet of sea water by 2015 - that's next year, dude. The fact of the matter is this: parts of this world are heating up, slightly, while other parts (i.e. the entire North American Continent) have been cooling for 20 years, now, and into the future. Moore was one of YOUR icons, before he admitted to what climate scientists were telling him. Yes, your most recent scheme for stealing from the rich and making us all poorer, is falling apart.

  3. Smithson ... the regressive that he is, always references irrelevant history... like his fixation with the KKK, segregation and the southern Democrats of 60 yrs ago, science before the computer age, and other stupid and meaningless things that belong to a bygone era. Further, he can not separate science from his paranoid conspiracy theories.

Smithson is willfully ignorant and misinformed. The IPCC climate predictions have proven too conservative - they have consistently underestimated real-world observations

    This is from 2012....

Projection: The IPCC 2007 assessment projected a worst-case temperature rise of 4.3° to 11.5° Fahrenheit, with a high probability of 7.2°F.

Reality: We are currently on track for a rise of between 6.3° and 13.3°F, with a high probability of an increase of 9.4°F by 2100, according to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Other modelers are getting similar results, including a study published earlier this month by the Global Carbon Project consortium confirming the likelihood of a 9ºF rise.

Projection: In the 2001 report, the IPCC projected a sea rise of 2 millimeters per year. The worst-case scenario in the 2007 report, which looked mostly at thermal expansion of the oceans as temperatures warmed, called for up to 1.9 feet of sea-level-rise by century's end.

Reality: Observed sea-level-rise has averaged 3.3 millimeters per year since 1990. By 2009, various studies that included ice-melt offered drastically higher projections of between 2.4 and 6.2 feet sea level rise by 2100.

Projection: In 1995, IPCC projected "little change in the extent of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets… over the next 50-100 years." In 2007 IPCC embraced a drastic revision: "New data… show[s] that losses from the ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica have very likely contributed to sea level rise over 1993 to 2003."

Reality: Today, ice loss in Greenland and Antarctica is trending at least 100 years ahead of projections compared to IPCC's first three reports.

Projection: The IPCC has always confidently projected that the Arctic ice pack was safe at least until 2050 or well beyond 2100.

Reality: Summer ice is thinning faster than every climate projection, and today scientists predict an ice-free Arctic in years, not decades. Last summer, Arctic sea ice extent plummeted to 1.32 million square miles, the lowest level ever recorded – 50 percent below the long-term 1979 to 2000 average.

  4. Thanks.... so readers, the next time we hear Smithson say "none of the projections have come true... " refer to this.
    A true misinformed fool
