In a recent article found at theFinancial Times, a hard Left leaning publication that, ironically, touts
the values of a regulated capitalist system, Obama's fall from grace is
documented. The article lists a number of failures as judged by a liberal
mindset, but, in the end, concludes that Obama was real, only
his radical fan base was delusional.
The article
argues that Obama had no choice but to receive the applause of 250,000 who came
to hear a 2008 campaign speech delivered, for some ungodly reason,
in Berlin. The editors posit that he had but one choice,
either to accept the praise of the German audience or say,
"go home guys, this is silly." Never mind that no
president had ever campaigned for American office in Germany. Never mind
that it was in this speech that he spoke of reducing the rise of the oceans and
the end of global warming. Never mind that his efforts, immature
and short-sighted, produced nothing in terms of a global alliance against the imagined ravages of a distempered weather pattern.
FT points
out that Obama did end the era of torture, under the Bush Administration.
Never mind that his "death by drone" campaign killed less than
55 Al Qaeda leaders while ending the lives of more than 6,000
"innocent" civilians and by-standers. Never mind he continued
the Bush era policy of rendition, sending captured enemy to foreign
companies that used interrogation practices that Obama was publicly defaming. Never mind that he never came close to shutting down GITMO, and has ended all efforts at the interrogation of enemy forces. We know less of Al Qaeda, today, than before 9/11.
The FT article
concludes that Obama had to accept the Noble Peace Prize, given to him
"simply for existing," that he could not return it or refuse its
gift. Who knows, he probably wears it to bed, at night, as
he tries to impress his radicalized wife of the self worth of his pathetic existence.
Whatever the
defense, it is clear from a reading of this nonsensical piece, that
the liberal world is sorely disappointed in this man, the first liberal
super hero.
His presidency
has been disgraced by more than 20 different scandals and the deaths of 4
Libyan diplomats, 17 Navy Seal Team Six members, the Pakistani doctor who
ratted out Osama bin Laden, and hundreds of American soldiers who have
died because of his inhumane "rules of engagement" that make the
safety of our battlefield solders a non-issue when viewed against the survival
of enemy solders and a citizenry which protects and shields that enemy.
In the end,
his legacy is one of failure, even as a populace president. Only
20,000 came to see his 2012 acceptance speech when he expected 80,000.
Only 6 million listened to his State of the Union Speech (2012) when 31
million listened to his 2010 performance. And just 4,500 came out to hear his
speech, this year, in Germany compared to 250,000 in 2008. No
one cares about him, anymore. Likability is no substitute for
sustainability. He is a joke, at best, and an outright
criminal, at worst. Time will tell -- but not before he
has finished his destructive term as president.
