Republican Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad, I said REPUBLICAN Governor, Terry Branstad, today, told Karl Rove to keep his new super
PAC, American Crossroads, out of Iowa come primary season. The governor sees Rove’s idea to
supervise Republican primary’s as counter productive on more than one
level.
Apparently, Rove has
decided that Steve King, a
Republican, offered his support to Todd
Akin and, for that reason, Rove has decided that King is not a
dependable candidate. and Rove intends to single out over "misfits" as he trys to single handedly shape the GOP into a competitive corporation that will win elections.
Tony Lee of Brietbart.com, gives us this story, related in the worst of ways to the above:
Americans for Prosperity, the conservative group that has
fiercely supported free market principles and embraced the Tea Party movement,
is considering getting involved in Republican primaries next year, which could
pit the group against Karl Rove's recently-created super PAC.
Tim Phillips, president of Americans for Prosperity, said the
group will consider threatening GOP lawmakers in primaries who increase
spending or taxes.
After Rove created his "Conservative Victory
Project," many conservatives felt the group was meant to wage war against
Tea Party candidates.
Many, if not
most, in the teaparty movement, including this editor, see the GOP waging a silent and deceptive
war against the grassroots movement that brought them into power in 2010. It began with the decision NOT to invited the conservative lightening rod, Governor Sarah Palin, to speak the national convention in 2012. And Rove has decided to step into the middle of this little GOP war.
If Americans for Prosperity makes a final decision
to get involved, in an official
way, the GOP could self-destruct unless
Rove, McCain and others within the RINO Herd currently running the show, back
off.
The power of the teaparty movement is found in the fact that
it has proven that its members will stay away from the voting booth, no matter what the threat, unless and until
the RINO Herd gets back in line as regards conservative principles. The battle cry - at
least from this editor - is this: “Try winning an election without us
conservatives.”
If Rove wants to help, and I do think he means well, he can
pitch in and train these people.
I think they might listen when,
two years ago they were guided by raw ideals mixed with very little
political savvy.
