Is the Bureau of Labor playing with the numbers to make Obama look good. We have the answer, here.

The U6 unemployment rate counts not only people without work seeking full-time employment (the more familiar U-3 rate), but also counts "marginally attached workers and those working part-time for economic reasons." Note that some of these part-time workers counted as employed by U-3 could be working as little as an hour a week. And the "marginally attached workers" include those who have gotten discouraged and stopped looking, but still want to work. The age considered for this calculation is 16 years and over.  The U6 unemployment rate dropped 3 tenths of a point in August,  but remained the same for the same for September     (http://portalseven.com/employment/unemployment_rate_u6.jsp)  while the U3 number has dropped - mysteriously -  5 tenths of a point in that same period of time (http://portalseven.com/employment/unemployment_rate.jsp).

Since “U6” includes “U3”   numbers,  one cannot be amended without amending the other.  And that,  ladies and gentlemen,  is why no one who can read and think at the same time,  believes the unemployment numbers are improving.   The fact of the matter is this:  the Bureau of Labor is playing with the numbers to make Obama look good.  The conclusion is irresistible, if one cares about facts and confluence.
