American Ambassador to Libya and three staffers killed in rocket attack.

A terrible story.  Our Ambassador to Libya,  J. Christopher Stevens and three of his staff were killed yesterday as they tried to transfer to a safer location.  From first reports (and we all know how tenuous "first reports can be) ,  their vehicle was hit by a rocket of some sort.  The three staffers were then killed by gun fire and the ambassador was strangled or somehow, suffocated to death.  This is a developing story.

Needless to say,  Obama's Middle Eastern plans are falling apart.

KT McFarland and Victoria Clarke,  both previous State Department diplomates, called for Obama to get to a podium and decry this incident in the most emphatic of terms.  Understand this incident was birthed from a Libyan anti-American demonstration yesterday.  During this 9/11 demonstration,  the demonstrators were shouting,  "We are all Osama bin Laden" or words to that effort.

Personally,  I hope Romney "stands down" on this.  If this event works against Obama,  that will manifest itself in short order.

(story developing.  problems are rising in Egypt and Algeria,   as well,  even as I write)

Update:  Sean Smith was one of the staff killed.  He has been called  an important "information officer."

Update:  you should know that within the past weeks,  60 to 70 Coptic Christians (Eastern Orthodox)  have been killed in Egypt with no mention from Obama and little reporting in the American press.  The Middle East's "Arab Spring"  is proving to be an anti-American movement,  at its base.  None of Obama's efforts in Libya or Egypt seem to have born any positive "fruit."  The Muslim Brotherhood has taken over Egypt and is fiercely anti-Israel.

This cannot be a more explosive situation.

Romney will have a statement at 9:30 et;  Obama will make a statement at 10:30).  We might be looking at the single most important circumstance to influence the coming elections.  Obama's duplicitous Middle East policies makes it impossible to know what he will do next.   Imagine,  a partisan ideologue and a novice at that,  is about to make some the most important decisions made in the past ten years.

Update:  a troop of 50 Marines coming out of Spain is being sent to Libya to secure our embassy, there.
