Plain talk from common folks: "Comment" of the day"

Something to think about:
Glaciers are the anomaly.    They are vestiges of the preceding Ice Age.

The earth is approx. 4.5 Billion years old. The last Ice Age started maybe 2 million years ago, and ended 10 to 14 thousand years ago, depending on which scientist you talk to. There have been maybe 4 Ice Ages total.
The glaciers are getting smaller because THEY ALWAYS GET SMALLER. In fact, they are supposed to disappear.
Save the Mastodons!

  2. Soooo, the facts are not in debate, just our intelligence??

Think about it, moron. Where did the ice caps come from if not from the last ice age? And, if so, why not expect them to be slowly melting away?

You do know they were not always here, the ice caps. When we came out of the last ice age, just 12,000 years ago, Bam !!! there they were. They are part of our world because of a thaw, [agaon] 12,000 years ago. I think you idiots would call that "global warming." I call it "the cycle of life."

  3. “Climate change is a national security challenge with strategic implications for the Navy. …A preponderance of global observational evidence shows the Arctic Ocean is losing sea ice, global temperatures are warming, sea level is rising, large landfast ice sheets (Greenland and Antarctic) are losing ice mass, and precipitation patterns are changing…. Climate change is affecting, and will continue to affect, U.S. military installations world- wide. Melting permafrost is degrading roads, foundations, and structures on DoD and USCG installations in Alaska. Droughts in the southeast and southwest U.S. are challenging water resource management. Sea level rise and storm surge will lead to an increased likelihood of inundation of coastal infrastructure, and may limit the availability of overseas bases.”

So, according o Smithson... the US Navy scientists are part of a "liberal conspiracy" and are "morons". Thank you Smithson for showing that political indoctrination trumps scientific fact and your ability to make rational deductions.
