Public Enemy Number One was killed Sunday. Here is what we know.

The Coward is Dead

The "compound" where Osama had been hiding for the past four years was in the heart of a heavily populated area in Pakistan. See the Google map at left.

Since 9/11, this piece of work (Osama) had ordered suicide death after death, but was, himself, afraid to die. Hence, 9 years of running and hiding . . . . . . like the coward that he was. Click on image to enlarge

The compound was 18 feet high by some reports, 7 feet high by other reports and surrounded by bobbed-wire. It was in Pakistan and no one in the surrounding region knew where the money to build this compound came from. Three families lived inside. In fact, the compound was in the heart of a large Pakistani city. A college is near and well traveled roads surrounded the hide-away.

The ordinance for the attack that killed bin Laden and 4 others, began 4 years ago, under the Bush Administration. Two years ago, the particular region of Pakistan was identified. Last September, the confirmation was made that Osama lived in the particular compound. Barack Obama held 5 secret security meetings since last March and ordered the attack last Friday. The attack was carried out on Sunday afternoon (May 1).

It is believed that the Taliban, more radical than al Qaeda, will continue the war on terror along side bin Laden's al Qaeda forces. But there is no question that the death of Osama is a huge blow to the terrorist forces. It is estimated that the Bush war in Iraq killed 60,000 al Qaeda forces during that war and, now, this news.

No Americans were injured during the attack.

I am hoping the "Muslim burial at sea" amounted to the Seals dragging bin Laden's dead carcase into one of the helicopters, flying over the ocean on the way back to base, and being dumped out of the copter after being spit on and laughed at.

A great victory for this country. We give credit to Obama but recognize the input of President Bush, as well. No doubt the Dems and Obama will try to score points but the victory belongs to all.

Remember the waterboarding controversy? Well, the information that lead to this attack came from KSM during his 180 waterboarding sessions, giving rise to the notion that those who opposed "waterboarding" were and are even more the morons than we had previously suspected.

  1. WTF are you talking about? "The ordinance for the attack that killed bin Laden and 4 others, began 4 years ago, under the Bush Administration." IS COMPLETELY FALSE. Anti Terrorism Director Richard Clarke repeatedly asked for a meeting with Bush on the bin Laden threat but was denied. Bush saw repeated warnings on the al Qaeda threat before 9/11 and responded by going on vacation... for a month.

    History review:

"I don’t know where he [Bin Laden] is. You know, I just don’t spend that much time on him. I truly am not that concerned about him."

    - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02, White House Press Conference - six months after 9/11, 3 months after he let bin Laden escape from Tora Bora.

The Bush Administration admitted Bin Laden escaped from Tora Bora: "that failure to commit U.S. ground troops to hunt him was its gravest error in the war against al Qaeda"

These are the facts documented for history.

  2. AP News Reports:

To discussintell igence and develop a plan, Obama chaired five National Security Council meetings from mid-March until late April, with the last two on April 19 and April 28 -- last Thursday. The next day, on Friday, Obama gave the order for the mission, the officials said.
The key break involved one of the few couriers trusted by bin Laden, according to the officials. About two years ago, intelligence work identified where the courier and his brother lived and operated in Pakistan, and it took until August of last year to find the compound in Abbottabad raided Sunday, they said.

  3. I hear "bobbed-wire" is pretty dangerous.

Also, I will concede that maybe 10%-20% of the intelligence work was done under the Bush administration, but we saw very little action from that administration. Obama made it a gaol from the very start - something he even addressed during the 2008 campaign...

  4. Actually, the ordinances used in the killing of Osama began about 8 years ago, with the waterboarding of KSM. He is the one who gave the information relating to Osama's use of carriers in the place of cellphones and etc. In fact, the Navy Seal strategy for the attack was something developed under Bush. It takes more than three years to qualify as members of a Navy Seal team. Navy Seal Team 6 members enlisted under Bush and were qualified under Bush approved procedures.

I am not saying that Obama should share in what happened on Sunday, but I am saying that the war strategies he has adopted belong to G.W. and it is stupid wrong to deny it.

You bunch of anti-war hypocrites are laughable. You hated Gen Patraeus and Obama has made him the kinpin of his war on terror. You all cheered when the Chief Idiot bragged about closing GITMO. Intelliegent people got the last laugh on that one. You screamed "war criminal" because of the waterboarding of three of the most evil men on the face of the earth, but condone the killing of civilians (collateral damages) via drone bombings. Killing people to you bunch of idiots is somehow more humane than waterboarding or whatever. Obama has started two wars: Afghanistan and Libya. He did not get out of Iraq in the time line promised during the 2008 campaign.

Anyway - "hypocrisy" seems to be the rule of the day, with you people. Who would have known that you all would have abandoned your anti-war BS and offered support to the New Warmonger in Chief.

  5. Other officials within the administration differ, i.e. Paneta, who allowed - just this morning - for a role played by waterboarding. Let's get one thing straight, William. It is alright with you to kill the enemy but not ok to capture and waterboard him. Dead is dead. Waterboarding, by contrast, is the humane thing to do.

  6. "Keep lying .. Obama is sure to be a two term president now and there is nothng your hate and lies can do about it. "

Hey, Willy, Bush 41 had a 90% approval rating as the result of military action, but the economy went south and he lost the election. Obama will never see a 90% approval rating and the election is 18 months away.
