Gates: Pentagon must cut overhead, restrain spending — (CNN) — The Pentagon must hold down its spending and make choices that will anger “powerful people” in an era of economic strain, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said in a weekend speech in Kansas. — Increasing health care costs . . .
Editor's notes: So, why is that we will never see this headline story:
(CNN) — The United States Congress must hold down its spending and make choices that will anger “powerful people” in an era of economic strain, according to Mr. Obama in a weekend speech in Kansas. — Increasing health care costs . . . .
Understand that of the 26.4 trillion dollars the Obama policy is about to spend over the course of the next ten years, less than 4 trillion can be attributed to President Bush. Keep that in mind the next time he brags about cutting spending by 100 million dollars. Be sure to thank him for cutting 3.7 percent from his 600% increase.
Anyone have a clue as to the size of one trillion? Take one trillion seconds - that takes us back to just under 32, 000 years and before the beginnings of civilization. 26.4 trillion ? Well, in "seconds," that would be 844,800 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . years !!
Obama increases entitlements, adds 400,000 federal employees (if ObamaCare is not repealed and reinvented), grows the national debt by 4 trillion in less than two years, pushes environmental legislation that will cut two jobs for every green job created (In Spain, the cut was 2.5 jobs per every green job created) and taxes the small business man out of existence.
A final point is this: weren't we told that healthcare would reduce the national debt by a trillion dollars? Anyone remember Pelosi telling us this lie? And now? We have to make serious cuts in our defense because of the national debt . . . . . . . . . . that healthcare reform was going cure.
Keep this in mind at the coming November 2 elections. Send a message to all politicians -- the day of the free lunch is over, contrary to the Obama rhetoric otherwise. --- jds
