Unemployment rises sharply to 9.8%. Speaker-elect John Boehner tells Dems to stop playing games on spending and tax cuts.

House Speaker-designate John Boehner (R-OH) this morning called on the lame-duck Congress to cut spending and stop all the looming tax hikes after the Department of Labor reported that unemployment rose to 9.8 percent in November despite Obama Administration projections that the ‘stimulus’ would keep unemployment below eight percent. Joblessness has now topped 9.5 percent for 16 straight months, the longest such stretch since the Great Depression. Boehner issued the following statement:

“Any sign of job growth in this struggling economy is encouraging, but clearly no match for the uncertainty families and small businesses are facing, which is why we must cut spending and stop all the looming tax hikes.

“Unfortunately, Democratic leaders continue to insist on wasting time with meaningless votes as they try to make it as difficult as possible to stop their job-killing tax hike. Families and small businesses have had enough of politicians in Washington talking about creating jobs while doing everything in their power to kill more jobs. This is exactly the kind of Washington game-playing the American people voted against on Election Day. The lame-duck Congress should do the right thing and vote immediately to cut spending and stop all the tax hikes. If they don’t, the new House majority will in January.

“As economists and small business owners have warned, the last thing our economy needs right now is a job-killing tax hike. Republicans are focused on keeping our pledge to America to cut spending and permanently stop all the tax hikes. Our economy will ultimately recover, but it will do so because of hard work and entrepreneurship, not more of the same job-killing policies and spending binges.”

Obama is anti-oil and today's decision is proof. And he has cost the region another 24,000 jobs.

Energy: The White House has reversed its March decision and will now impose a drilling moratorium in the Gulf and off the Atlantic coast. It blames the BP spill, but that's just a convenient cover for the real reason.

The moratorium will last at least seven years and cover the eastern Gulf of Mexico and the eastern seaboard from the central Florida coast north to the Mid-Atlantic. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said that in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon spill, drilling in these regions will have to wait until a "more stringent regulatory regime" is in place.

To please the environmentalist lobby, the administration is walking away from 7.5 billion barrels of oil and almost 60 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Media reports indicate that only a portion of the seas that are now off-limits contain enough crude to fill up more than 2.4 million cars with gasoline and natural gas to heat 8 million homes for 60 years.

GE was inbed with Obama -- surprise, surprise.

FED SECRETLY BAILED OUT GE -- GE NEWS OUTLETS FAILED TO REVEAL IN FED COVERAGE ...

Editor's notes: understand that GE was given this bailout at the time it was owner of NBC News !! And MSNBC. The global warming policies of Mr. Obama is full of special deals to those who work with Obama on his green policies, including GE, surprisingly BP.

Now that the mismanagement of his legislative program is nearly an end, these companies have little place in the scheme of things and disclosures such as the above can be made. "They" have nothing to lose. The jig is up. Obama, with a super-majority in both Houses, has failed to accomplish his goals and may have paved the way for much of the repeal of his agenda.

What is the message of the 2010 midterm elections ?

  • Nearly two in three actual voters surveyed (63%) said the new Congress should “never” authorize using taxpayer funds to bailout or to buyout privately-owned businesses. Only 10% of voters support bailing out companies “too big to fail.”
  • 68% of actual voters surveyed said corruption played a major role in the financial crisis with 47% saying corruption played a “very major role.”
  • 67% of actual voters said they believe the records regarding how the Treasury Department has spent bailout funds should “definitely be made available” to the public, while only 13% of voters said the records should “definitely be kept secret” – a ratio of 5:1.
  • 82% of actual voters said they believed the level of government corruption in Washington has either increased (43%) or stayed the same (39%) over the last two years. 68% of actual voters said they believe the level of government corruption in Washington will either increase (24%) or stay the same (44%) over the next two years.
  • A total of 50 points separated those voters who say the average American has too little information about how their tax dollars are spent, and those who say such access to this information is “about right” (71%-21%) .
  • By a 2-to-1 ratio, respondents believed that major legislation from the last two years (healthcare, economic stimulus and bailouts) made it more difficult to make the government account the use of taxpayer dollars – (62%-28%).
  • Nearly 80% of actual voters who participated in the 2010 elections sensed that government grew larger during the first two years of the Obama administration, a development that a 51%-majority viewed negatively. Source: inc/WomanTrend and Judicial Watch
Apparently Judicial Watch commissioned this survey. The link above is to a PDF that is rather extensive. The point of this survey, among other things, is a warning to both parties to move on and get something done. The problem is found in the clash of two ideologies: socialism versus a free market economic structure.

Have we gotten to the point that compromise cannot be allowed? If so, congressional solutions are impossible and no one knows what is coming our way, next.

Few of us want to admit to the nature of the beast: [and the beast is] compromise is the only avenue available for legislative solutions in a representative society. The alternative is some level of totalitarianism, either via a dictator or a repressive legislative majority similar to what has existed in the House for the passed two years -- a repressive majority, we might add, that is either liberal or conservative. Because my cause is righteous does not give me the right to order your life.

While the far Left needs to understand that this country is never going to be a Marxist bastion, the Right needs to accept the fact that socialism will always be with us. We have it in our educational program at the high school and grade school levels, Social Security, Medicare, and even in our progressive tax system.

This editor is a member of the TEA party movement. But, he has no intentions of demonizing those within the GOP simply because they record an honest vote that compromises his personal views.

One might argue that this concession allows socialism a pathway to dominance via incremental legislation. This would be true if all the compromises were made in favor of the socialist dream of societal dominance. That is not the case. The struggle between states rights (federalism) and big government social dominance was an issue debated by our founding fathers and that circumstance is not going away anytime soon. This is the defining debate of our national politic. Marxism is an intrusion into that debate and must be rejected simply because it is foreign to all our founding principles.

What is off limits, however, is the undefined "fundamental transformation" of this country, a transformation that will give us a different history (according to Michelle Obama) and, consequently, a different historical outcome. Perhaps the single most important and overriding issue with regards to Obama's national agenda, is his unwillingness to specify in detail as to what he means by "fundamental change." We have witnessed two years of Obama's brand of socialism, and, to date, we have no idea just how far into socialism he intends to take this nation. We do know, however, that he rejects the traditional and historical purview of our Founders.

Liberals need to understand that card check, net neutrality, forced union membership, the banning of prvate gun ownership and cradle to the grave social assistance takes us far beyond anything that one might imagine as "compromise," especially when it takes away the right of the people to refuse the particular legislative provision. Social programs are one thing. But when Federal and World governments express their intention to run our lives without grassroots challenge, compromise on the part of conservative pundits is not possible.

Understand that personal responsibility is a "right" to the American conservative and a return to state and local governments is a rudimentary political goal. "Fundamental changes" are those legislative issues that work against these two considerations.

Remember Joe the Plumber? Well, Obama and his thugs went after him but who knew??

Here is a brief from Judicial Watch about Joe the Plumber and the abuse he was subjected to because Obama happened to stop and talk to him during the 2008 campaign. Prior to that campaign season, the common citizenry was off-limits to inquisition by either the media or the Feds when its members spoke out on issues. Because of Obama and his Marxist thugs, for the first time in modern times, citizens are punished with investigation and televised network exposure for doing nothing more than speaking up.

The message is clear: if you challenge the Marxists in power, either in writing or in some kind of interview, you will be made to pay the price. The lesson is clear: the Marxist Left will no longer tolerate "commoners" speaking out on the issues. Before Joe Wurzelbacker became an internet sensation, folks at CNN and MSNBC were charging that he had no right to speak out because his personal life was not in order, that his name might not be "Joe," that he was working without a license and that he owed the IRS $1,600.

Now we know that Obama may have orchestrated this assault.

Here is what is going on with Joe the Plumber per Judicial Watch:

On October 12, 2008, Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher was in his yard playing football with his son when Barack Obama and his campaign entourage approached, filming Mr. Obama's interactions with the public. As a result, Mr. Wurzelbacher, an employee of a small plumbing business, was able to ask then-Presidential candidate Obama about the impact of his tax policy on small business owners. The exchange resulted in widespread media attention and Mr. Wurzelbacher was referenced in the third Presidential debate as "Joe the Plumber."

As a result of his interaction with Mr. Obama, three officials of the State of Ohio instructed state employees to access confidential government databases for information regarding Mr. Wurzelbacher. A subsequent investigation by the state's Inspector General's office concluded that there was "no legitimate agency function or purpose for checking on [Mr. Wurzelbacher's] name through the [confidential databases] or for authorizing these searches," and on this basis Judicial Watch agreed to represent Mr. Wurzelbacher in a civil suit claiming that the searches were a violation of his constitutional rights.

On August 4, 2010, the District Court for the Southern District of Ohio held that, while the actions of the government officials were inappropriate, Mr. Wurzelbacher's constitutional rights were not violated and dismissed the case. Judicial Watch filed a brief with the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals on November 10, 2010. READ MORE >>>>>

Conclusion: Mr. Obama is no more the president of the people than is Hugo Chavez. This publication has never addressed Mr. Obama as "President." Now you know why. He is not my president by rite of his own actions and disgraceful rhetoric. This article is evidence of that fact.

We give you Obama and more on his do-nothing diplomatic policies. This time it involves Wikileaks.

Jack Keane - chief of staff for the Army, told Fox News, this morning, that the Administration could have "easily" taken down Wikileaks months ago and avoided all that is going on with regard to recent security leaks. Understand that more than 600,000 documents, many of them top secret, have been released by a man named Julius Assange over the course of the past seven months. Obama has yet to personally comment on the matter and has done nothing to shut this enemy site down.

General Keane is at a loss for words as to why the Administration has not given this document theft and exposure top priority. Hundreds of lives have been put at risk because of this matter and diplomatic strategies have been compromised. In terms of foreign policy, this is as bad as it gets and, yet, nothing from this White House.

White House spokesmen have been asked about recent developments with nothing to say in defense of Administration intent.

Point of post: we wanted to document another failed opportunity for the Administration to join the mainstream with regard to its thinking about terrorism at all levels. Some have imagined that Obama is concerned with Assange's free speech rights when, in fact, Assange is neither a citizen of this country nor does he live in this country. He is an enemy combatant, plain and simple, and should have been quietly dealt with months ago.

Understand that China and Russia have already taken steps to shut Wikileaks down or to limit its revelations. There are a few ex-military personnel who are busy attacking this site as well. You may read of a man calling himself "the Jester." His hobby in retirement is to confound jihadist sites. He is, also, involved in resistance to the Wikileaks' and has shut the site down for 30 -60 minutes on more than one occasion.

High Court is looking into more abuse of power from the Administration.

In local reporting, we are being told that the Supreme Court has accepted a case that questions the government's frequent refusal to obey the federal Freedom of Information Act.

The Court heard arguments from a Washington state resident who has sued the government under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) . Glen Milner is the man's name. Milner was attempting to study the impact of a potential ammunitions explosion on an island near Port Townsend, in western Washington. He was hoping to determine the extent of damages from such an explosion. The munitions dump is on Fed property.

The justices heard argument Wednesday in an appeal from Glen Milner, a Washington state resident who sued under FOIA for maps showing the extent of damage expected from an explosion at the Navy's main West Coast ammunition dump on an island near Port Townsend in western Washington.

The Administration has been challenged several times under the FOIA. In most cases, it has lost the appeal.

Harry Reid attempts to cram the Dream Act through congress. Forget Assange. Somebody arrest the Senate leader on charges of malfeasance . . please.

Here is Jeff Session, today, on the Senate floor:

“I was disappointed that, apparently as a result of the Majority Leader’s promises, we now may have a fourth version of the DREAM Act, produced last night at 8:45, that he seeks to bring on the floor. We haven’t had a hearing on that in seven years. The American people did not vote for amnesty in this past election."

The video version is less than a minute and a half. Take a listen:

The Senate passes a reparations bill and illegally initiates the Food Safety bill.

In Roll Call, we have this headline and story: House May Block 'Food Safety' Bill Over Senate Error...

Understand that our food supply is safe enough. This bill is not necessary and, in fact, with the passing of more regulations, we cut down on the number of food suppliers in system. It happens every time there is a significant regulatory increase and food prices trend up a bit.

But here is the real problem; the Food Safety bill is a spending bill and, as such, must originate in the House, by Constitutional law. If the bill is passed by the Senate, there is talk that it will be blocked in the House by Democrat members of the House Ways and Means Committee. The behind the scenes report tells us that House Democrats are miffed at Harry Reid for pushing this bill, part of which provides for the raising of taxable funds.

Midknight Review has reported on the schedule of the Lame Duck congress - one week before Thanksgiving and the week following Turkey day. Apparently that is not the case for this congress. It appears that they might extend the Lame Duck up and even beyond Christmas.

What is curious is the fact that with the week or two remaining for the Lame Ducksters, Harry Reid has decided that this is more important than the tax bill and the budget - which is nearly 8 months past due. What we are reporting is this: the Dems have had two years to solve the Bush tax "problem" and have failed. Further, the budget proposal was to have been completed in March of this year. Didn't happen. In fact, in addition to a budget proposal, congress was to have written and passed 13 different allocation bills for the several budgetary venues and didn't. In short, the 111th Democrat Congress has failed in historical measure while spending its time paying off its friends.

Today, a Democrat Senator spoke to someone off carmara, not knowing that he was standing near an open mic. Understand that this was today. He complained that the Senate's conduct of the Lame Duck session was "rigged." That the schedule was predetermined without input from the Senate as a whole.

What so many had feared about the Lame Duck congress is under way. Pelosi and Reid, traitors in their own right to the US constitution, are hell bent on by-passing congressional process and the will of the people as expressed in the past election, and intend to pass through the remainder of their Marxist plan.

In the midst of all this angst, Obama is making plans for his 7th vacation

SACRIFICE: Obama offers to delay Hawaiian vacation for tax talks...

Editor's notes
: aren't we all getting tired of this? We are looking at his 7th announced vacation in 20 months of presidency.

"Oh, but he is working while on vacation."

Fine. Then stop telling us it is a 'vacation.'

Seven vacations; 65 trips to the golf course (that's a full month spent playing the game); 332 evening events at the White House in 2009 alone; 18 months making personal appearances. Turns out that most of his work is done while traveling to and from a special event or a personal appearance. Think we are kidding? He has made more than 1,500 personal appearances, campaign tours and political speeches. If we allow 3 hours per speech/appearance
INCLUDING TRAVEL TIME, you come up with 18 months. Add in that month playing golf and you have his entire presidency. Of course, he does not just play golf and deliver speech so, he must work during travel time.

The Pentagon recently released flight costs per hour for his trips to where ever, hundreds of them: the cost was set at $181.700 (plus change) per hour. This is just flight costs.

Look, the man does not work at being president, period. We need a leader. Instead, we have Obama. And he is worn out again.
