Mention on "terrorism" in social media increased from 3% to 16% in just one month (November to December) and has become more important to Americans that job creation, or shared wealth security.
Before publishing Gallup's explanation, keep asking yourselves this question after hearing Obama comments such as, "We are increasing the level of violence and the number of attacks against ISIL compared to where we were a few months ago," . . . . . . . . why the in the world weren't you doing this all along? Thousands have died BECAUSE of his philosophical procrastination, thousands I say, because he is afraid of killing some innocents in the crossfire.
Me? I have never thought Obama was the brightest bulb on the wall, but this philosophy may mark a certain mental illness in Barack shared by Flower Power Children the world over, one we might call, "procrastenitius philosophicus. The disease has been around for as long as there have been liberals trying to deal with waging war. It reached biblical proportions in the years leading up to June 6, 1944, when Europe, afraid to kill the enemy, and, desperately wishing that appeasement would end Hitlers killing spree, had to turn to its illegitimate cousin, the United States of America, for salvation and an effective cure to their disease. 'Nuff said.
Here is Gallup on the reason for the new level of populace attention and, by implication, why (a) Obama has suddenly decided that his Oval Office speech was a pathetic failure and (b) why no one bought into his announced theory that gun control and climate agreements were the best venues for fighting back domestic terror.
Bottom Line
The terrorist attacks in San Bernardino and Paris have altered how Americans view the problems facing the U.S. Satisfaction with the way things are going in the U.S. dropped significantly to a 13-month low in December, and Americans' trust in the government to protect them from terrorism
is the lowest Gallup has measured. The data reviewed here show that
terrorism has now become the single most-frequently mentioned issue when
Americans are asked to name the most important problem.
In the past, mentions of terrorism as the most important U.S. problem
have quickly fallen after a major incident. But two major attacks in
short succession, at a time when concern about terrorism was already elevated
given the threat of the Islamic State, have Americans on edge.
President Barack Obama himself made a rare Oval Office address shortly
after the San Bernardino attacks, to discuss terrorism and how he hopes
to combat it. Whether terrorism remains atop the list of Americans'
concerns or recedes in the coming months likely will depend on the
government's response to the terror threat as well as the occurrence, or
the lack, of major attacks in the U.S. or elsewhere.
Historical data are available in Gallup Analytics.
Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.

Time for a discussion about national security and what Obama has done and is doing, putting us all in greater and greater danger, than before his presidency.
<<< Yes, this is a real picture; Obama condemning Putin in a hurried presser at some elementary school - striking fear into the hearts of the Despotic World, no doubt. Presser was held on March, 3, 2014. Geeeeeesh.
(Updated for grammar)
From Politico, we have this concern: A range of lawmakers and intelligence community experts are
puzzled about why U.S. intelligence agencies seem to have misjudged Putin’s
intentions and whether the lack of warning fits a pattern of other significant
intelligence shortcomings in recent years.
The answers could affect how the huge but shrinking
intelligence budget is allocated in the future, possibly focusing more attention
and resources on traditional adversaries like Russia and China and a somewhat
less on the overarching focus of the past decade: terrorism.
Earlier warning of Putin’s move might have given the U.S.
and other allies more time to try to dissuade him and prompted more effort in
doing so. But it’s unclear whether the Russian leader would have bowed to such
pressure.
Other senators leaving the same briefing Tuesday afternoon
described the present state of intelligence on the issue as muddled and
sketchy.
“There just seemed to be a lack of current intelligence, but
I can’t go into details,” said Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine). She called
questions about a lack of warning “very valid,” but declined to elaborate.
Editor's notes: 90 Americans have either died or have been injured because of homeland, terrorist attacks, since Obama has become our Over Lord. Under Bush, that total was ZERO. With Bush, we fought and won a war. With Obama, that victory (Iraq) was reversed and the Afghan War is a total disaster. Obama brags about 40/ terrorist leaders killed with his drone program. Under Bush, 40,000 terrorists were killed and hundreds of leaders. Obama killed Osama. Bush drove Osama from power and sent him into hidding, like the Muslim coward he was. With Bush, we captured and interrogated hundreds of terrorists. With Obama, the program of intense or prolonged interrogation has ended. In fact, we simply do not capture and interrogate. Pointing to less than six exceptions to my claim, actually proves my point. We now know less about the terror network and its inner workings, than during the days of Clinton . . . . . . . less.
Most troublesome is the fact that Obama and the Viet Nam coward, John Kerry, believe that mankind has evolved into a peace loving entity.
Never mind a world run by despots: China and its harsh treatment of people of faith (we are talking about millions of people, folks Obama does not care about) along with a growing military of more than 2.2 million foot soldiers; North Korea and its maniac 25 year old punk leader, a man so devoid of human decencies, he actually needs to be assassinated; Putin, a KGB thug who regrets the fall of the Soviet Union (and John Kerry does not know about this guy?????? ); Iran, a nation Obama has allowed to become a nuclear power, just months away from beginning to build its nuclear, weapons-grade, arsenal; the Taliban and related Afghan based terror cabal, men Obama has worked to create a "negotiated peace" in that country, only to be rejected and laughed out of that country by these killers; and the despotic Muslim population that continues to ravage parts of Africa.
Sarah Palin predicted the Ukraine "invasion" six years ago; Obama and Kerry, on the other hand, were shocked when they read about it in the papers. Mitt Romney knew about it, and was ridiculed by an Obama who was clearly out of touch and naive in his thinking about Russia. So why didn't this Administration see the Russian build up coming? Others did, but not the two people (B Obama and Kerry) who matter most, at this time.
Why? Well, I can tell you this, any answer to this question must have the words "feckless" and "incompetent" in its text, or, it is not close to being adequate.
U.N. Ambassador and Obama disciple, Samatha Power demonstrates exactly what is wrong this this Administrations foreign "policy."
Daniel Pearl was a news reporter, whose head was sawed off by members of the international Islamic community. This pathological foreign religion is at war with its non-pathological "other half," responsible for nearly all of the collateral Muslim/Arab deaths in the Iraqi war and the murderous unrest and killings in Egypt, Benghazi and Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Palestine, a number of communities in Europe, our Homeland, and, of course, the sad state of affairs in Syria.
It is not "individual accountability" and , "reconciliation" for gawd sakes, that is required, here. You should know that Powers, her boss, B Obama, and the cast of Marxist Democrat leaders currently in Congress, simply do not care that the murderous AND ORGANIZED rage directed against all who are not part of Radical Islam, continues.
The words ". . . individual . . . . reconciliation" are the words that reveal just how convoluted and out of touch is this Administration. "Feckless" does not begin to cover their extreme lack of purpose and foresight.
Powers is telling us all that the "war on terror" is absolutely over; that what remains (and was always the case, from the Administration's point of view) is a criminal enterprise that needs to be dealt with via conciliatory negotiations (that never happen) and in our civilian courts, with the same legalese used against any common criminal(s).
As long as our national security and my personal life (and yours) is not put in jeopardy, with this bit of liberal, feel good, nonsense, I can live with it. I do believe in local law enforcement and its increasing ability to fight terror related crimes. Just understand this: since the days of Bush, we have been attacked, in our homeland, at least 5 times; with Bush, not once.

Homeland attacks since Obama. There were no such attacks under Bush. Strangely, this Administration has publicly stated that "there have no terrorist attacks on the Homeland, under this Administration." Consider the following.
1. One soldier was murdered by a screaming Islamist. It is a shame, but we have all forgotten about this incident. I will try to dig up the details. Our dead warrior deserves the effort.
2. 13 soldiers were killed and 32 others were shot by an declared Islamist at Fort Hood, a "crime" that has been framed by this Administration as "work place violence."
3. We have the Boston bombings - an admitted terror attack.
4. There was the failed Christmas Day attempt, an effort to bring down a passenger plane filled with 240 passengers. The bomb was in underwear of the Islamist wannbe suicide bomber. The only reason the plot failed is that the bomb misfired and the bomber was subdued by passengers on the plane.
5. The was the failed attempt to set off a huge car bomb in N.Y. City. While this attempt failed because of the ineptness of the bombers, it was an attack on this homeland, none-the-less.
6. And, in May of 2013, there was a full blown terror attack on a huge electric civilian terminal outside of San Jose, California. 17 transformers were damaged in a organized attack that took more than a half hour, with the terrorists escaping into the night, without trace. This "crime" was not reported until two weeks ago, and in the reporting, statements were made that made me believe this has not been the only such attack. Authorities, here in California, believe this was a "tune-up" for future and more effective assaults against our homeland.
(Look for updates to this list.)
It took Obama just four days to claim credit for the newest cyber attack.
David E. Sanger / New York Times:
Obama Order Sped Up Wave of Cyberattacks Against Iran — WASHINGTON — From his first months in office, President Obama secretly ordered increasingly sophisticated attacks on the computer systems that run Iran's main nuclear enrichment facilities, significantly expanding America's …
J Smithson/ On May the 28th ,
I wrote this prediction:
It is clear to this blogger that folks within the Bush very
secret service, helped to develop a virus that is 20 times more potent than the
famous Stuxnet virus that shut down much of Iran's nuclear project a couple of
years ago. It just might prove to be Obama's savior. Time will
tell. Meanwhile, let's see how long it
takes for Obama to (a) take credit for the virus and (b) to expose
those who helped in its development, you know, like he did with the
Yemenite double agent, Seal Team Six and the Pakistani doctor who helped
locate Osama bin Laden.
My question is this: how does Obama claim credit for a virus "invented" during the Bush years?
Today, we
have the above headline, a shameless attempt at grabbing another headline. Apparently Barack does not know that the
enemy reads the papers and listens to American news, nor does he value "secrecy" in the multifaceted war on terror. Buffoon.
