Yes, this really is Rahm Emanuel. He did the dance, some years ago as well as serving as a commando in the Israeli army. He was an "incrementalist" in the Obama Administration, maybe the only one, who knows.

Rahm's gone: New day, new tone for the White House
WASHINGTON (AP) - Reshaping the tone and tenor of the White House, President Barack Obama on Friday replaced the colorful and caustic Rahm Emanuel with the private Pete Rouse as his chief of staff, shifting to a new phase of his presidency with a drastically different aide as trusted gatekeeper . . . . .

Editor's notes: the headlined article speaks of a "new tone" now that Rahm is gone. Rubbish, of course. The "tone" of the White House is a top-down affair. It all comes from Obama.

It is clear to this editor that the next two years will be about Novice Obama winning re-election and returning his party's majority to the halls of Congress. He will continue his belligerent rhetoric, hoping to drive a wedge between the voter and the GOP.

The morning's scuttlebutt has to do with Obama cutting back on his agenda; not being so aggressive in the pursuit of the European/African transformation he has in mind. Our response?

Duh !!

Of course he is going to cut back. After November 2, regardless as to which party controls congress, his agenda is screwed.

The dismantling of Constitutional freedoms, the massive intrusion of government, the idiocy of ObamaCare processes, the near criminalization of an entire segment of the population, the continuing legal battles against FoxNews and privately funded conservative talk radio, rule by regulation (EPA, FTC, SEC, FCC), the advanced "czar" population and Obama's contempt for the balance of powers, especially the Congressional review process. and the blatant misappropriation of federal funds (i.e. who the heck paid off the GM loan "five years early"?) -- all this and more are contrary to the ideology of the Right. OF COURSE, the Right opposes Obama on these matters.

Point of post: nothing has changed in the absence of Rahm Emanuel. In fact, the harshness of Obama speak will manifestly increase as will the deceptiveness of his reelection politic. Understand that Obama's race for reelection begins NOW. One of the first acts of the Lame Duck Congress will be to pass a campaign finance "reform" bill that will off-set the supposed damage done by the Supreme Court in the Citizens United decision. For the first time in a hundred years, the Court allowed for corporate speech to be considered "protected speech."

In normal times, we would be against corporate monies in an election, but Obama's reform bill will limit that activity while leaving the unions to do what they will with their monies - upwards of 300 million dollars given to the Dems. Unless and until that is given remedy, campaign reform must be rejected. Its all or nothing on this one.

We need jobs and the Dems decide to work on campaign finance. Why? The answer ain't good.

The Citizens Untied Supreme Court decision of Jan 25, 2010, leveled the playing field on the issue of
campaign finance. The Dems know they are in trouble with the business community and are desperately trying to limit their voice in the coming 2012 election.

Think back to the State of the Union address, last Jan 27. It came just two days after the High Court decided that corporate political speech was Constitutionally protected speech. Obama was angry and blasted the Court's judges in attendance for the speech.

Why the anger? The Dems and Obama have spent their entire time in power, waging class warfare against the business community. A Bloomberg poll, taken at the end of 2009, revealed that 77% of the corporate community believed Obama to be "anti-business."

The Democrat Congress immediately began work on legislation designed to limit the effects of the Supreme Court's decision. That bill failed last summer. It would have demanded that corporate sponsored political ads identify those who paid money for the ads. The bill failed because, in part, it excluded unions from the proposal. That would have effected the midterms, being held just 41 days from now.

There is no hope for effecting the midterms with regard to the Dem's version of campaign finance reform. That battle has been fought and lost.

Now, they are concerned with the 2012 elections and they know that if they cannot limit the effects of the High Court's decision for 2012 and do that now, it will not happen at all. They are about to lose the control they have in Congress. So, at the risk of appearing totally detached, they have decided to - again - avoid the issue of jobs in a subtle effort at "stacking the deck" for the presidential campaign in 2012.
