Quick Notes while on the road to Boise and back: The Obama Youth Vote.

Update (Wed. May 21):  News as of three days ago:  Obama's OFA,  his army of volunteer political puppets,  is all but gone. From having headquarters in every state in 2008,  and an volunteer force of more than 13,000 dedicated to writing emails and doing phone surveys,  each and every day,  OFA is shutting down more than half of its centers.  Reason?  Lack of interest.  Conclusion:  Obama the Myth has been replaced with "Obama the Man,"  and far fewer young American's like what they see in The Man.  I call it, "growing up."  You can call it whatever.  Understand that in my youth,  I was a Democrat.  In fact,  the last Democrat candidate for president,  I voted for,  was Jimmy Carter . . . . .  and I was an enthusiastic supporter.

We all have to do "it"   . . . . . . . .  grow-up,  that is.  Now, about the bad news for Obama's Progressives:

Understand that a full 50% of the 2008 youth (Millennial) vote is expected to sit out this midterm election,  and,  maybe,  the 2016.

. . . . strategist’s advice to Democrats . . . . . . . . .   “heavily invest” in turning out “progressive Millennials,” pronto.  If the party heeds his counsel, expect to hear a lot about gay marriage and birth control over the next six months. Also via WaPo, here’s a chart that employs the (fairly Democrat-friendly) NBC/WSJ polling series to track this year’s fundamentals, comparing the current numbers to surveys conducted before previous midterm waves. Chris Cillizza says the results “should scare Democrats:”

And  the following chart is more bad news for the Democrats.
