The most unproductive Senate Majority leader in American history has decided to retire at the end of next year.

<<<<  Anyone believe that this wannabe tough guy (he claims to have been a boxer but no proof of that exists) lost a fight with  gym equipment that  punched his eye onto hospitalization and surgery and nearly broke his right jaw?  

 Edtior's notes:  understand this nothing burger of a leader managed to block every single GOP legislative suggestion during the first six years of Obama's Whatever,  that he refused to pass a single budget as dictated by law (we have been without a budget for fiscal years 10,11, 12, 13, 14, and fiscal year 2015 ending in September of 2016). 

He cancelled 5 scheduled votes on ObamaCare.  Had he followed his own scheduling,  that bill would have failed 5 times over,  but,  instead,  he canceled and rescheduled and canceled and rescheduled and canceled and rescheduled and canceled and rescheduled and canceled and rescheduled until he had so manipulated his own party members,  that ObamaCare passed but only because he changed the rules to allow for a 51 member vote.

He is one of the reasons why I will never be a Mormon.  That church allowed this moron to rule in the most criminal ways of any American leader.

He managed to shelve all 367 bills sent to the Senate from the House,  and then had the lying "fortitude" to tell the American people that the GOP had done absolutely nothing during the Obama years.

He is a piece of feckless trash,  and I am thankful that he is retiring.  I actually want him to die off,  but,  hey,  that is me and,  I know,  "way over the top."  

BTW,  his retirement changes things in favor of the GOP in Nevada.  That state already has a newly elected Republican Governor.

Editor's notes: I actually did not read beyond this headlined wording. Why?  Because the article cannot count for much when the headline is so misleading. Understand that the Democrat side of congress has refused to enter into budget debates for five years,  now.  Their leader (the Muslim sympathizer,  B Hussein Obama)  can't even compose a worthy budget proposal,  his budgets being voted on four different times in the two houses of congress,  losing 97 to Zero and 99 to Zero in the Senate,  and 414 to Zero and 416 to 2,  in the House.  

But,  more than this,  the House has sent 257 bills to the Senate with absolutely no action taken by Reid.  Reid,  no friend to the American Democratic Process,  has refused to even allow Senate discussion on any of these bills,  yet,  stands up,  from time to time,  and condemns the GOP as a do-nothing party.  

You can thank the Leftists at Politico for this misleading "news" article. 

Ever heard of Tom Steyer? He makes the Koch brothers look like choirboys. You will hear of the connection between the Steyer and his puppet, Harry Reid, from now until Reid is out of office.

Another man might have assumed, correctly, that launching a campaign of insult and insinuation against two billionaires would result in renewed attention to his own finances. Not Harry Reid. The Senate Democratic leader since 2005, and the Senate majority leader since 2007, is not one to reflect before speaking. His mouth runs far ahead of his brain.

In recent years Reid has declared an American war “lost” while our troops still fought overseas; praised President Obama for his “light” skin and “no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one”; asserted falsely and without evidence that Mitt Romney had not paid any taxes for a decade; and said “Why would we want to do that?” when asked if he would fund cancer research during the government shutdown.

Now, with his majority in danger, his president unpopular, his floor agendaobstructed by members of his own caucus, Reid thrashes about uncontrollably. He calls Obamacare horror stories “untrue.” He says Obamacare numbers are not as high as projected because Americans “are not educated on how to use the Internet.” His Senate Majority PAC launches a $3 million ad campaign tying Republican candidates to two men most Americans have never heard of, two men who, funnily enough, are more popular than Reid.

From the floor of the Senate Reid says these two men, Charles and David Koch, are “un-American,” are trying “to buy America.” Without the terrible specter of the Koch brothers Harry Reid would be disarmed. He has no issue for his Democratic Senators to run on; the minimum wage and climate change are not enough. Nor has he another means of inspiring donors to open their checkbooks. He only has fear, fear of the Kochs, fear of extractive industry, fear of the portion of the elite that favors economic freedom. How laws are passed through congress and why the Democrat Party is most "do nothing" party of modern times.

The Legislative Process:

If the new proposal is financial,  it must originate in the House and,  then,  passed to the Senate  -  never the other-way around.

Otherwise,  a new law can have its beginning in committee meetings,  either in the House or the
Senate.  After it reaches the respective "floor," and voted on and approved,  the bill is sent to "other" house,  where it is reviewed and revised in committee,  and presented to the floor for debate.  If passed,  it is sent back to the original congressional "house,"  where members of both the Senate and the House,  work to reconcile both versions of the law.  It is, then,  presented for vote in each house,  and,  wala,  you have a "law."

Since 2010 and the takeover of the House of Representatives by the GOP (thanks to the teaparty),  that house has sent 160 approved bills to the Senate, for the Senate's review and process.

Harry Reid has refused to allow most of these House bills to continue the legislative process.  They are sent to Senate and die on Reid's desk.  As a result,  the Senate is the least productive in American history.  It is not the GOP holding up legislation or refusing to compromise in the "reconciliation process."  It is ONLY the Senate under the "leadership" of Hapless Harry.

Gun ownership, as a category, is growing because of the current debate. Anyone see the humor in that ??

You should know that the NRA has gained more than 100,000 new members in the past three weeks taking its membership from 4.1 million to 4.2.  The NRA’s membership goal is 5 million before the current debate over gun control is over.  Since gun ownership is not the problem,  this stat should not be the cause of any concern,  but watch for the reaction of those who want to divest the general population of any means for protecting itself.  

(As reported by Fox) - Did you know that Harry Reid put a clause in the ObamaCare bill that prohibits the federal government from keeping track of individual gun owners?   That is why you are not hearing much coming his blow-hole during this particular debate.   

Kill Romney, the mobilization of a childish, fun loving base, and a Marxist media in love with itself and its power to influence an illiterate populace all combined to fashion the most unlikely victory in American politics. Can these folks, now, shift gears and act like grown-ups?

Over the course of Obama's presidency,  we all have read of the label given to the current congress (since 2010)  -  "the slowest congress in American history."    

Actually,  that summary statement is not exactly true.  

When we read of a "do nothing Congress,"  we are reading [only] of a Senate that was the most unproductive Senate in American history.  The House ranked 6th as to the number of bills passed and sent to the Senate. Combined,  the two gave us a record "do nothing congress."  If the Senate had matched the House,  as slow as it was,  in work completed,  this congress would have ranked somewhere near 20th  - still a poor record but not the "worst in American history."  

Harry Reid has proven to be more of a dictator than Obama ever thought of being,  deciding what will be considered by the Senate. 

There is no "bottleneck" in congress.  There is only Harry Reid.   

For example,  there have been a number of jobs related bills past by the House,  this year (2012),  the most recent of which passed through the House last June but was never submitted to the Senate;  a decision made by Harry Reid.   He,  alone,  chose to sequester these House bills (16 in toto) and [then] pretend the GOP was standing in the way of getting things done.  

His Senate has entered the fourth consecutive fiscal year without a budget and it appears that he will oversee 8 fiscal years of incompetence as relates to the annual budget before Obama leaves office. In his first term,   Obama submitted three budgets to Congress,  each failed without receiving a single vote from his own party  (failing in the Senate 97 to Zero,  99 to Zero and in the House, 414 to Zero).  A fourth budget proposal was so poorly written by Obama,  that the OMB refused to accept the proposal and score its conclusions.  In short,  this bunch has no clue as to the creation of a budget.  

What is scary is the fact that it is these very people  who have taken us all to the very "edge of the cliff."  

Point of post:  to remind the reader of what has been written over and over again, by this editor.  But even more so,  this post is a call to all to continue to be involved,  demanding that leadership get things done and stop making excuses.  

"They"  won the election.  We get that.  But,  they did not get a mandate from the voters that tells House leadership to ignore its 58 million voter base.  If you are a liberal,  do you really think that the conservative leadership can tell its constituency to go to hell?  Seriously.  Don't like the tea party?  Get use to their role in American politics.  The tea-party came through this past election unscathed and wholly intact.  Don't like that fact?  Tell your sad story to 58 million American voters . . . . . and don't start with "get f. . . .ked."  

To my friends on the Right,  I must ask the same question.  I do not believe in "compromise,"  but such a belief is limited to holding up the Constitution as our political code of conduct,  a secular reverence for the sovereignty of this great nation and its primary symbol,  the American flag,  obedience to established law, a fiscal plan that puts the private sector of  this nation on track to increase its GDP  and,  finally, a commitment to compassionate legislative resolution to various societal issues including the serious problem of immigration.  If that makes me a "wacko,"  you're an idiot.  

If I continue this blog,  it will be with these goals in mind.
