To be honest, I held a lot of respect for General John Kelly until now:

Jonathan D. Salant / New Jersey Online:
Trump's former chief of staff says Senate impeachment trial without witnesses is ‘a job only half done’  —  WASHINGTON — A Senate vote to end President Donald Trump's impeachment proceedings without calling witnesses should be considered “half a trial,” the president's former chief of staff John Kelly said Friday.

Editor:  The fact that General John Kelly does not allow for the 17 witnesses (from the House investigation) introduced into the Senate trial has ended my respect for him.  More than this,  the fact that General Kelly implicitly condoned Joe Biden's Ukraine blackmail threat by an absence of any critical commentary.
