Ryan Lizza / New Yorker: How Republicans Ditched Tax Reform for Tax Cuts

Editor:  I stopped believing in "tax reform" months ago.  And I don't blame Trump. This is all on GOP "leadership" or lack there of.

The only reason "tax reform" will not happen now, has everything to do with how much you benefit from Big(ger) Government,  period.  Saving/making money is always a good thing,  for Big Government and the American patriot.  But such has very little to do with cutting expenses and bringing one's budget in line with pressing income realities,  true for me,  true for you and true for the self-serving morons in D.C.  Understand this,  it is not our generation that will suffer because of Central Planning's criminal negligence but it will happen UNLESS all debtor nations move to forgive what is owed them,  and move on.  I  mean,  why would a lender nation loan money to an entity that is wildly over-leveraged or in debt?  I don't know the answered to that question,  but I do know that such practices are as suspect as the growing indebtedness of the Beggar Nations.

Besides,  there is not enough time for "reform."  At least,  that will be the next excuse as "they" march out the door for their next vacation.  Never forget,  they had 7 years for ObamaCare repeal and replace, and couldn't get close.  They had 7 months and decided to take 5 freaking weeks off in August.  What the hell will  they get done in 40 working days, now?

Conclusion: Reform was never the goal.  They lied to us all,  and the takers don't give a damn.
