Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on
the first Monday in September. It honors the American labor movement and
the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity,
laws and well-being of the country. Most importantly, it celebrates all of labor, including its employers and administrations. There is no labor force, in America, without Business, big and small. In short, Labor Day celebrates capitalism as it applies to business and labor.
May Day is a socialist/union holiday for the "workers," in opposition to those who build the factories and hire the workforce. It (May Day) is a celebration of the "workers" versus the oppressor class." Specifically, it is a celebration of the anti-capitalist movement that typifies European Socialism.
