"Breach of Oath" is a make-believe legal novelty being used by Democrats to overcome the 2016 Presidential election.

Aaron C. Davis / Washington Post:
D.C. and Maryland to sue President Trump, alleging breach of constitutional oath  —  Attorneys general for the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland say they will sue President Trump on Monday, alleging that he has violated anti-corruption clauses in the Constitution by accepting millions …
Notes:  I am at 214 "Fake News" stories.  If I had titled the theme,  "Tinfoil Territory,"  my count would be close to 1,000.  This headline is "case in point."  While true as a news story,  the two Attorney's General have decided to prosecute a hopeless case.  They are claiming that the Emolument's Clause of the Constitution is being violated by President Trump.  It's not the standard concept of "corruption"  that is their complaint.  Rather,  it is about (a) finding an excuse to impeach our President, and (b),  using a mistaken application of the Emolument Clause,  to do so.
Two things are critically wrong with this lawsuit:

A:  The President is no longer owner of the hotel that is the "old Post Office" in D.C.   He is only a stockholder,  along with many others.

B:  These two men and the populations they represent,  have no standing needed to bring suit.  In other words,  these men and their locals,  have not been harmed by the actions of President Trump.  Absent "standing,"  only Congress can press this charge against the President based on the Emoluments Clause.

At any rate,  regardless of the technical discussion,  expect this effort to go nowhere   . . . . .  and I will guarantee this outcome.
