Our military personnel and law enforcement agencies have to be right every time, but the terrorists only have to get “lucky” once to do horrible damage to our country. The threat of radical Islam is real, and it must not be allowed to be ignored.
With the recent capture of Ramadi, ISIS has scored a key victory that is more than symbolic as this death cult takes land that Americans spilled blood and treasure to secure. Make no mistake that this situation could have been avoided had the Obama administration heeded the warnings of military brass that urged them to keep a residual force in Iraq to maintain the peace that America and our allies fought so hard for.
But it’s never too late to do the right thing. That means getting serious about defeating ISIS at the source while remaining ever vigilant at home. As always, our foreign policy must be rooted in the motto Peace Through Strength. For your part, friends, I encourage you to keep in perspective the issues-of-the-day that media chooses to report on. Demand our leaders and the press keep national priorities straight, and don’t allow fear to dictate our actions and change our way of life. To cower in fear is to let the enemy win. So stay vigilant, take personal responsibility for the safety of ourselves and our property, support our troops, and learn through history that we only remain free by being brave.
May God’s hand of protection remain on this country that has dedicated herself to Him.

DeleteAnonymous wrote a rather detailed account of all that Reagan supposedly did wrong. It will remain unpublished. The Left lost their battle over Reagan, the last of the truly great presidents. Reagan is at the top of nearly any list of "best presidents," and has a very high rating, even among Democrats.
ReplyDeleteHe brought out captives back, after the weak-kneed Jimmy Carter couldn't, too afraid of angering our enemies. The captives were released the same day Reagan was sworn in, as president. It took him more than two years to reverse the Carter crap economy, but that is what happened.
And he preached "American Pride," something the Left no longer believes.
But Reagan has nothing to do with the current debate. Please limit your comments to current events.
Carter, in his last act as president, negotiated the release of the hostages through chief negotiator, Deputy Secretary of State, Warren Christopher. And Smithson, history denialist/revisionist - who doesn't have the balls to publish the truth about Reagan, and just makes stuff up - gives Reagan the credit for the hostages release.

Here again, we see how 'informed' conservatives are about history, and the level of denial they will stoop to.
If Carter had won re-election, the hostages would have never been freed. Did Carter work to get their release? Of course, and at no time on this blog has that ever been denied. Were the hostages released the same day Reagan was sworn in? Of course. Understand that what Anonymous is bragging about, is the fact that Carter negotiated the release. What he does not want you to remember is that the hostages were in Iran 444 days. In other words, it only took Carter 444 freaking days to negotiate the negotiated release of the prisoners. Keep in mind, that Reagan told the nation if they were still in Iranian custody, when he took the presidency. he would act militarily against Iran. Negotiations or not, the Iranian were afraid of Reagan, and the hostages were freed.
