Republicans said the Obama agenda would crush the economy.
Economic growth is at an 11-year high. Job growth is at a 15-year high. The stock market is soaring. Wages are rising. Gas prices are plummeting. American manufacturing is improving. The uninsured rate is dropping.
What does the GOP say now? They say nothing.
GOP officials have been heavily invested in a simple proposition: the combination of the Affordable Care Act, federal regulations, Dodd-Frank reforms, and higher taxes approved last year - the Obama agenda will kill economic growth - a disaster for the economy. They said, if we want conditions to improve, we’ll have to do the exact opposite of what the White House has done.
No one said his agenda would destroy the country (i.e. the economy). Economic growth, for all of 2014, is around 3%. You cherry pick last quarter and mislead yourself in so doing. Hourly wages are down; the average American family earns 5,000 less per year than before Obama, Gas is down thanks to the Saudi's. Obama did not want lower gas prices. As long as they are down, the huge, gas guzzling SUV and the 500 hp muscle car is here to stay and those ridiculous electric cars are out. Dood-Frank is only 55% complete, with no skeleton statement for about 25% of that bill, if you are to believe CNN News. All net jobs since 2007 have gone to the immigrant population, not home born folks (Hispanics, Whites and the forgotten Black man). In other words, there is no job growth for most of the nation. 70% of all jobs created during the Obama years have been created in one state, Texas. And 9 million able bodied folks have completely given up . . . . . . largest number in 34 years. But, other than all this, you are right.
Gas prices on a record plunge, stock market over 18,000, unemployment below 6%, no wonder he's so unpopular.
