Saturday the 28th: If 97% of the population is "homophobe," it is safe to say the heterophobes lost, yesterday.

First,  Cracker Barrel apologized to its customer base and reinstated  the sale of Duck Dynasty "stuff."  Then,  Twitter,  apologized for trying to hinder a petition campaign supporting Duck Dynasty.  And,  finally,  A & E did the right thing,  and decided it would allow Phil Robertson to continue as a member of the most popular cast on cable TV.

Of course,  some within the Gay community immediately began to whin,  having lost their bid to criminalize any and all opposition speech,  and, the Blacks,  well,  the radicals within that community simply hate anything related to traditional,  white man,  America, including the white man's Christmas,   the US Constitution, a white man's document,  as it is presently written,  and Christianity as expressed by the white man over the centuries.

Understand,  that this is a debate in the public square,  it is not a call to arms within either community of thought.  While gays may have the right to practice their "lifestyle,"  they should never be allowed to silence those who disagree,  and that,  for me,  was at the heart of this battle.

  1. It says a lot about the type of people who run to support a guy who thinks blacks were "happy" before civil rights in the Jim Crow south.

  2. Well, since blacks can't be happy with the freedoms they share and the entitlements for which they have lobbied, why would anyone think they were happy under slavery? So, where is that statement made by Robertson? And, again, Jim Crow is a Democrat creation. Take your complaints, your constant whining complaining, and lay them at the feet of your one-time master's. My side of the aisle freed your ignorant, self-serving butts and lost thousands in the effort. You're welcome !!

  3. That was then, this is now. The GOP is the white KKKristian party. Always will be.

  4. So, thousands of blacks were killed in the Democrat days of the KKK; blacks were kept from voting and continued to be segregated under the Jim Crow laws of the Democrat Party; Woodrow Wilson (WW I) and FDR (WW II) segregated the military during each of our two world wars, both men being Democrats, and you want to pretend that the GOP has done worse. What a moron. And why has your half-black president done nothing for the black community, in the five years he has been president? Are you going to blame that on the GOP, as well? Explain to me why the Democrat Party has refused to place blacks at the top of the party, except for Obama? And which black Democrat leader will take Obama's place when he is gone? How did that war on poverty go, Jack? 7 trillion dollars spent on the poor and, especially, the poor black community, since 1966 and they ALL are still poor. Have you ever wondered why the Dems support abortion, knowing that the target population of abortion is the black community? That's your party killing your babies and you want to pretend that the GOP is your problem. Why does the Congressional Black Caucus support communist leaders in South America, leaders who hate blacks? Heck, your own leadership, the CBC, has abandoned you folks and all you can is say, "That was then and this is now."

You could not begin to list anything similar, when it comes to the supposed mistreatment of blacks by the GOP and yet, you blindly continue to support a party - including your own president - that treats you all like second class citizens. Unemployment is highest within the black community, after 5 years of Obama, and you want to blame the GOP. Abortion kills thousands of your unborn, every year, and you want to blame the GOP. More of you are in poverty, today, than before the war on poverty, yet you all continue to vote for the White leadership within the Democrat Party that has done nothing for the poor and blacks for decades.

    1. Republicans are notorious for a lack of diversity. At the 2012 convention just 2 percent of delegates were African American.

“This Republican Party base is white, aging and dying off,” David Bositis of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies

That IS the present state of affairs.

    2. Blacks vote for blacks and entitlements, period. Wish it was different but it is what it is. And whites are 75% of the population including all of Democrat Party leadership. Live with it.

    3. Tired old and wrong argument. Most of the diability fraud comes out of KY and WV... YOUR white trash. Blacks comprise 22 percent of the poor, but blacks only take in 14 percent of government benefits. Conversely, whites make up 42 percent of the poor , but take in a disproportionate 69 percent of government benefits. 4. Reread my comment. I said "blacks vote for blacks." Of course I meant, "Blacks vote for Democrat blacks if their white Democrat masters are not their only choice." According to a Dec 2012 PEW report, 27% of blacks benefit from 3 or more entitlement programs, compared to 14% of whites and 11% of Hispanics. 75% of the national population is white but only 42% of the poor are white. Who knows what the Progressives at the NYT are talking about, but their conclusions are not supported by the facts. And it is Democrat whites in KY and WV who defraud in greatest numbers. My point? Stop pretending that you Socialist Dems are not the leaders in welfare benefits and legislation.

    5. You cite numbers of entitlement programs, not spending. Federal budget and Census data show that, in 91 percent of the benefit dollars from entitlement and other mandatory programs went to the elderly (people 65 and over), the seriously disabled, and members of working households.

These are the people who the you wish to take from while protecting the top 1%. Very "Christian" of you John Smithson... attacking the least among us by cloaking it in phony racist rhetoric and meaningless statistics.

People who are neither elderly nor disabled — and do not live in a working household — received only 9 percent of the benefits.

And btw... if you think we're all created equal, you might wear the shoes of a family trying to survive on minimum wage, or compare a school in the bad neighborhood with one in white suburbs.

    6. Not sure as to your point. Your numbers, for once, are correct, but I do not consider Social Security an "entitlement" nor Medicare, for the retired citizen. I am part of the so-called 99% , jack, so who is taking from who? As far as "racist," it is you who fits that definition when you accuse the likes of me of racism without have a clue as to who I am and what my vocational/Christian concerns are. That second paragraph, above, makes it sound as if you know me. In fact, because I am white, you attack me for being a racist. That is your only reason for doing so, that and the fact that your token black president - he is only half black, after all - has decided that all conservatives, white/black or whatever, are not deserving of US Constitutional protections.

Your paragraph #3 is the very category I have been discussing. Of the 9% you mention, 27% of that group are blacks, 14% are white and 11% are Hispanic. and, still, non-retirement aged blacks are twice as likely to pursue 3 entitlement programs than other ethnic groups. Understand that it is not my goal to simply point out this disparity. It indicates a problem that needs attention. Specifically, these folks, need training and education. But, instead of accepting the facts and working to correct the problem, racists like yourself, simply want to justify entitlement mindedness without offering ideas for getting these folks off the dole. Your president believes, apparently, that welfare is the solution to "income inequality." While there is truth to this notion, the fact remains there is NO UPWARD MOBILITY for those who depend on entitlements. Nothing is a substitute for personal responsibility and hard work - unless you are of the entitlement generation. So grow up and go to work.
